I wonder what the reasons are for not being able to downgrade. There are times in life when you just cannot afford to pay for certain things and the opportunity to put things on hold for a few months would be welcomed by many I'm sure.

I wonder how many members have been lost through this lack of flexibility.

I don't see it as a lack of flexibility. There is a good reason for it.

You would still be considered to be a member here, just not an active one as far as the community and training.

I suggest that you ask Kyle or Carson to confirm whether you can continue to promote your affiliate ID, as it does not get assigned to anyone else, it is yours for life.

I simply don't know the answer to that part of it. Or it might be as simple as signing up under a new username and email address - I have no idea if that is allowed or should be but it certainly would not hurt to ask. The next time I catch Kyle in chat, I will ask him, but that may not be in time for you. ~Jude

Thanks for the answers everyone

You cannot downgrade your membership, so I'm not as confident as the others as to how that would work. I suggest that you ask Kyle or Carson to confirm it.

Starter members can earn commissions, yes, but by cancelling premium, you don't automatically become a starter member again. I recommend that you make further inquiries about that. Here is the information about not being able to downgrade:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/leoemery/blog/here-s-the-answer-about-downgrading-from-premium

On the other hand, premium status is for life. It is just a question of whether the membership is active or not.

Do let us know what you find out either way.

~Jude

I didn't know that part - thanks Jude! - but of course, I'm not going anywhere!

I am sure you are right, Jude, that you can't downgrade.

Hey RCunningham

Yes you can still promote WA but you get less commission

Hope this helps

I'm sure that you can - the money you would earn would be cut to about half though.

Commissions for Premium are $8 for the first month $19 special offer, then $22.50 thereafter. Starter Members earn $4 for special offer referrals, then $11.25 monthly and $87.50 yearly commissions.

I cant find anyone who does reviews on it that does not also promote this place but than again i couldnt find negative reviiews for here either and look how well that turned out.

I have been through Jaaxy- "Stripping Niches, Uncovering Keywords and Becoming Successful". Is there any difference between "traffic" and "No of searches".
Thanks

I am honestly no exert in SEO and had minimal experience with keyword tools since Jaaxy. I used a few different keyword tools in the past few years mostly experimental. This was only because I either didn't understand them or found them too difficult to use.

Since I started using Jaaxy inside WA. I believe I have found a Keyword tool that is simple to use and easy to understand.

As for any cons against Jaaxy. HAve not found any yet. I will let you know when I find any..

Thanks for your reply Ken. I'm just trying to get honest opinions on the results Jaaxy produces. I have done a few searches with my free account and it just seems so simple compared to other software I have used for keyword research.

You will find tons of positive reviews of Jaaxy by googling it, but mostly from WA folks promoting it! Here is a site I like for opinions on things before trying them--this is actually what lead me to WA: http://www.warriorforum.com/internet-marketing-product-reviews-ratings/542160-jaaxy-new-keyword-research-tool.html

Thanks Kelly, I will take a look.

I'm curious. Are there any premium members who still use outside hosting for their websites. If so why have you not moved your sites to WA?

I want to move mine across to W

I must be a control freak. I like having access to a cPanel and all the files on my many websites. I also like having the ability to choose which plug-ins I use. My websites are all on HostGator which has fantastic help including 24/7 Live Chat which I have used on many occasions. ~Marion

Hi - I have hosting here, and in two other places - one because I need specialist .Net applications (I'm a web programmer), which can't be accommodated within WordPress - and the other, is a dedicated server, which has an SSL certificate.

Then I have WA hosting for my own sites which can be built with WordPress.

Yes there are some restrictions - it is NOT a reseller account (that's fine by me, as I do all of my sites, and maintain them all - no-one else has access to them), and as mentioned below, some plug-ins are restricted - but that's not an entirely bad thing.

I know you mentioned JetPack - I've seen a lot of negative comments about that - but just as many positive ones. But I'd rather any that *could* impact the servers my WA sites are hosted on, are restricted - so as to least affect my sites.

It's pretty simple to setup backups for your WP sites - and there are a few members who have already posted training here specifically for that.

You also have FTP access to your root website (not the root of the web server - but you don't really need that imho).

I can't answer who WA host with - probably their own servers in a datacentre somewhere (just a guess), if not their own data centre???

All the best, Mark

Thanks for the detailed answer Mark. I currently have a reseller account with Hostgator but was hoping to use the WA hosting instead and shut down the Hostgator account as I don't want to pay out for WA and Hostgator. I will have to have a think.

No cpanel access. Its shared hosting. Whereas on my servers I can control things like speed of the site.

I moved mine from WA to my own servers as wanted total control. Plus my servers backup daily to own backup server.

Do members not have total control of sites if hosted on WA?

Only way have total control put on your own servers. But that is expensive. Each server I use is almost $200 a month but if not happy with speed I can order more and put less sites on the servers.

yes I use siteground. I did use site5 but their service started to go downhill

Siteground is in the UK but you can choose to use a USA or UK based server and if you are refered you can get a year for only £6.

That's £6 for the whole year

Why do you ask?

I'm curious. If unlimited hosting is a part of WA Premium, why do members choose to host elsewhere which involves extra expense?

I already had a site before I came here and I host client sites so I have a resellers hosting account

There are pros and cons to hosting on wa, pro's being cheap for premium hosting, cons ( and I'm only guessing as not used it ) being lack of control, no access to root files, not choice in plugins and other things you install etc?

and like jjohnson777 mentions about backing up

@hantaah There are restrictions on the plugins I can use?

well I recommended the jetpack plugin to someone the otherday to which i was notified that it is a banned plug in

Restricting my choice of plugins is a deal breaker for me. I use Jetpack and many other Amazon and ebay plugins that I have purchased. I'm beginning to feel a sinking feeling.

hey, thanks for the follow. I also had host gator before joining WA and just canceled it when I upgraded to premium

I believe once you stop being a premium member that you have 30 days to move your sites to new hosting :)

Yes, WA premium covers your hosting for unlimited websites. If you decide to cancel your WA account, then you can just transfer your websites to another hosting company. WA is well worth the price though, plus you can get a discount if you pay for yearly premium.
