I am having speed issues when i am writing post. Sometimes it takes close to a minute to move to the next action. Has any AIOSEO users had issues with speed?

Hey Ronnie,

When posting my content directly to my WA hosted sites, I am constantly seeing a prompt that the connection has been lost... and then it finally disappears again, and I can continue to work.

What we members need to remember is that the WA web hosting servers are located in the United States... in one of the north eastern states from what I've been able to determine.

With my being located in southern Ontario, Canada, the connection between my computer and the servers goes through SEVERAL different connections before reaching the servers.

If ANY of those connections become bombarded with traffic, you bet there will be issues connecting constantly while trying to post content online.

The further away from those severs, the MORE connections that must be made in order to connect with those servers, which only serves to amplify connection issues.

Hope you find this helpful.

Yes, I get that too!

Canty

We highly doubt if this has anything to do with AIOSEO. But as we edit our sites sometimes the response between trying to update lingers. But we have notices that our changes are saved in our browser so we can use the version of our post in the backed up copy. Our broad band has slow upload speed.

I end up with 30 -50 revisions on a thousand word post. That's how long it takes to input a post.

Confused,
Canty

What we have done now is create our basic post content on your PC and save it first and then copy it to WordPress. So there are less revisions.

But to tell you the truth we like the backups. It used to be there were no backups and we would loose our work and have to start over. That is when we began to write our posts on a PC saved document. That way we don't loose our basic thoughts at least because usually our first thoughts are best.

🤣😂🤣 That’s what I do now. I dare not paste large chunks. I would have to wait up to a minute before I can paste more.

I tried the direct write in WordPress, but like you, I enjoy have a document. My app allows me access on any device.

Just much simpler,
Canty

Glad you have a solution too.

Ronnie just found your website and noticed that you don't have SSL turned on it is still showing as HTTP where it should be https
To turn it on go to site manager and instead of logging on to your website on the right hand side you will see details.
Click that and scroll down a bit till you find SSL then make sure it is turned to on.
Clear cache which is just above that and refresh your website and try it then.

Appreciate it!

Canty

most welcome

It says that a it’s turned on!

Canty

I just went to your site the canary effect just now and it shows as not secure. You need to check with site support

That’s not me, the canty effect.

Canty

Then that's my bad unless I got this site mixed up with someone else at the same time.
In that case good you have the site secure.

I doubt that it has anything to do with AIOSEO, Canty. I'd do as Andre suggests. Clear your browser's cache and restart your computer.

I have done all of that a number of times. To no avail.

Canty

Is it only your site that's slow? Is everything else on your computer running at normal speed?

Sorry, just read your earlier reply about the problem only occurring after you reactivate AIOSEO. I'm not finding it on any of my sites, but of course it could be a conflict with another plugin on your site. I know it's a pain, but you could try deactivating all your plugins but then reactivate AIOSEO first. See if it occurs then.

The problem seems to only be in the’Post’ section. The site isn’t slow, just my ability to create a posts is slow.

Canty

Totally weird. Site Support might be able to help.

So it seems you're not really talking about page load speed but the speed of use within wordpress when building your site. Is that correct?
:-)
Richard

Yes sir! Felt as if I could nap in between sentences.

Canty

OK. Assuming you've cleared caches etc ... have you cleaned up your WP database?

if not ... I use the Database Optimisation utility in the WP Optimize plugin for this.
I'm sure there are other methods but this works for me.

First back up your website then...

In WP Optimize go to the "Database" section, and select the top 6 tickable boxes on the left then click "Run All Selected Optimizations".

Don't be tempted to try out other facilities in WP Optimize without thorough research first.

If in doubt send me a PM.
:-)
Richard

Appreciate it, Richard! I have not done that since installing the plug-in.

Canty

Have you tried to clear your cache and refreshed the browser? doubt it is related to AIO SEO unless you have another SEO plugin activated.

Did you add any new plugins on your site as that could also cause a clash and may slow you down. but it seems to me that you speed outside of internet issues in your country is related to the cache.

If you are still experiencing this issue after you cleared the cache and refreshed the browser then best to contact site support to check it out.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Yes.

Canty

I would then suggest you contact site support as you mentioned you deactivated all your plugins and it only appears when you re-activate AIO there is obviously a clash.

You don't have SEO Framework with your plugins or activated do you?.
But best to now ask site support to check it out I gave you the link above
Let us know how you went when all fixed.
Andre

No, I tried it. Did not care for it.

Canty

Great I agree I dont like SEO Framework for some reason prefer AIO as for AIO constant promotion doesn't bother me as I just simply delete it and continue. I prefer AIO over SEO Framework anytime.

Absolutely!

Canty

If it works why re-invent the wheel?

I recently created a training using Captivate. How do i upload it to WA?

Just an idea and it might not work. But why don’t you try to use screen cast omatic o capture what you have done on Captivate.
Then upload from there or your download file.
Trying to think outside the rectangle.
Stephen

Hi

I don't think that's possible.

You may want to start from scratch and follow instruction on WA screen and follow procedure.

Let us know how you get on.

Someone may correct me, but I doubt that there would be any sort of automatic conversion, as the platforms are completely different. I suspect you're stuck with copy and paste.

I certainly hope not, Phil! I opted for Captivate since it was feature rich and offered more than just screencast. Boy, that would be a disappointment.

Canty

Just have to wait and see, Canty.

I just learned that I cannot do interactive videos. What a bummer.

Canty

Well, like I said, they are two totally different platforms. What you can do on one doesn't translate to the other.

Lily said she does her trainings on Google docs and then transfers them by copy and paste, Ronnie.
Good luck!

I want to transfer a Shopify website over to WA. Do I point the DNS servers to WA or do I have to build a totally new website from scratch?

I'd check with Site Support for transferring anything. They did a the DNS for me.
Good luck with this Ronnie!
Barb

Not certain but I don't think that can be done, since Shopify is not a plugin.

Shopify is its own platform but it is a lot more robust than WooCommerce

You would need to convert your Shopify products to Woocommerce using Woocommerece plugin I believe.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/import-shopify-to-woocommerce/

Is you website all products or does it also have content posts?

Both products and posts.

Canty

Hi

WooCommerce is the plugin you use with WordPress which comes integrated with PayPal and Stripe payment gateways.

How do I transfer my website to a new domain name?

You may transfer or point to WA servers (if transferring domain has to end in .com, .net or .org.

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) after the transfer has taken place. To transfer your domain here you need login current registrar and fetch the EPP code, there's a one year charge of $15, privacy included. One year more will get added to your domain.

Also it has to have passed the grace period of 60 days.

If your site has content you need get in touch with site support for further instructions.

They will typically ask you for FTP info and your domain name, they'll set up a siterubix subdomain and upload files then you can check everything is okay before you point your domain to WA servers.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

They've already responded to my question, Thanks, AbieAJ!

Thank you for the response. I received the answer for Site Support.

If you go into training…lesson 2. It tells you step by step how to do it! 😊

Thank you, but I didn't ask the question the right way.

Canty

My apologies. I know see what you were referring to. Lol.

A new domain name means a new website. You can't transfer your website to a new domain name.
