Take Adsense/YouTube for instance. How much money would I need to earn within the calendar year for the IRS to consider it reportable?
A business has to report to the IRS whenever they pay a contractor more than $599.

I think that usually if you are not really getting any income from anywhere else, but only from your online business, I believe that if you make under $30,000 and this is all you made, that you are exempted from taxes. If you make more, than you have to pay taxes.
Thanks for the quick answer! I'm already employed 40 hrs week. My affiliate income is to supplement that. Naturally I file taxes anyway...but am trying to figure out if THIS type of income is treated the same as any other "extra" income... such as earnings from stocks and investments. And whether it needs to be a certain amount before it's considered taxable.
I think that after a certain amount, that it is considered taxable either way. So I think that the methodology that you utilize already to file taxes is good as is, you could definitely keep utilizing that method to file your taxes for the income you made on your site. With your affiliate programs though, they always ask for your tax info, so everything is recorded.
Yes...that's true...regarding the affiliate programs. Then when I tried to look up on google about adsense, it was really ambiguous, and the links it suggested going to for info, don't even work!

There haven't been any Friday night training sessions since before Christmas. Are they coming back?
Jay has been very ill no doubt he will be back in the driving seat and rearing to go when he is well enough, we do miss you Jay
I know that the live training is a real plus for WA, unfortunately the training depends heavily on Jay. As you have been let know, Jay has been very ill. I'm sure we will get back to normal when he has fully recovered!
I think, in the meantime, we should concentrate on sending him good wishes and pray for him and his family.
Jay spent Christmas in Intensive Care with pneumonia. We all hope that he will be well enough to start the live training sessions again soon. ~Marion
I believe he will be fine he is a tough lad.
I believe it had to do with he lost his voice.
That makes it a little hard to do live trainings.

It's resolved!!!!! Finally. Go Daddy is my host. So after spending awhile with them on the phone this evening, it was figured out. It was a permissions error, which I assumed. All I needed to do was to reset the site permissions through my "Daddy" account. All is good now. But I thank all of you who rallied to my problem :-)
I'm happy to hear this. I just read your other answer and your new problem of not being able to delete something. I was thinking what to do then other than calling your host but I'm glad it's finally solved and your website is working as it's supposed to. :)

Hi there,
did you install a plugin lately? Some can cause this problem.
However, you mentioned that your current theme needs to be updated. If it doesn't work through WordPress for what reason ever, you can still do it manually.
Go to the website where you can download the theme. Either from WordPress.org or directly from the creator of the theme and download the theme to your computer.
Before you do any changes, make sure you backup everything. I recommend that you look at what MarionBlack and Kyle posted about website backup options.
Here's MarionBlack's post:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/marionblack/blog/backup-your-database-before-upgrading-wordpress
And here's Kyle's:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/wa-affiliate-program/how-to-backup-your-wordpress-content
Once you're done with the backup and downloaded the theme, log into your WP Dashboard and go to Appearance --> Themes and delete the theme you're using now. You can deactivate it first or leave activated. Under normal circumstances, your website content will look the same when you re-install the same theme.
After you deleted the theme, go to Appearance --> Themes --> Add New --> Upload Theme. Browse to the location on your computer where the theme is, click it and then click "Open". Click "Install Now" and after a brief moment, it's installed and once you activate it, your website should look the same.
In many times this fixes the image upload issue. If you still encounter the same problem, then it may be a good idea to switch the theme and see if that fixes it. If it does, then it's a theme issue most likely that it's outdated. If the same error occurs after switching the theme, then it most likely is an issue with WordPress and hosting.
However, if your web host can't give you a solution other than upgrading and spending more money, then I would consider to find a new host as well.
I hope this helps and if you need help, let me know.
All the best.
Thank you. And no, I haven't installed any new plugins. Logical solutions though... I might try that.
Next problem. Wordpress won't ALLOW me to add OR delete any plugins, unless it goes through the web server. I tried a manual backup (through the program I already have) and it failed, saying it couldn't write to the file. So it has me trapped, without a way in or out.
Well, I won't even begin to reach a solution until later today, because I need to see what the permission settings are by use of my FTP client, and adjust them if necessary. If that doesn't work, upgrading is perhaps my only solution. I have the question submitted to Wordpress support as well....and am not getting much useable assistance as of yet.
Try turning off your computer (save everything first) then unplug it for at least 20 minutes. This clears out your memory so you have a fresh start.
If you're using windows press ctrl+alt+del to bring up the Task Manager. In Task Manager you can see how much memory your running and background programs are using and also how much CPU resources are being used. The Applications tab shows which programs are currently running. The Processes tab shows which programs are hogging memory and Performance tab shows CPU usage and physical memory usage.
Having a lot of windows open in your browser consumes heaps of memory and CPU usage so try not to have too many windows open at once. Even after you close your browser you'll see that it's still hogging memory. That's why it's a good idea to turn off the computer and unplug it for a while. Clears the cobwebs.
~Marion
Thanks Marion, but I've confirmed now that the issue exists even when using different computers. So I'm dubious as far as what you've described as being a fix for the problem.
Try doing this (it worked for when I kept getting http: error when uploading jpgs):
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/lev/blog/fix-error-400-bad-request-http-in-wordpress
If not also try clearing your browser. Might need to restart computer too. Hope this solves it. Let us know.
Okay, I'm trying to find reasons for this, and it looks like it might have something to do with file permissions which have been altered from another source.
Hi. I've had the same thing happen with the images not loading. The only thing that worked for me was to completely close out of WA and come back in again. Then they uploaded just fine. Be sure you save anything you are working on first.
Not sure what to make of the info it is asking for in order for you to update. ??
Thanks... but how could this have anything to do with WA?? I'm not hosted by WA. I have Go Daddy.
I have no idea. I just know for me, it wasn't going to let me upload any photo. I closed everything out and then went back in. It then proceeded to be like nothing had ever happened and uploaded as usual. Strange, I know.
Okay...well I'm at a loss at what to do. I've logged out and back in to the site...I've tried putting an image in from every possible way I know how, and it won't accept it no matter what I do. I'm trying to write a new post.........but without pictures to add it's a waste of time!
It could be that the browser session you're running, has encountered an issue with the script that runs to upload the images. so I'd suggest the same - close down your browser, and start with a fresh session.
Over time, scripts running (it could be any script, or plug-in or browser app you may have installed) can inject code into pages to make them work. Sometimes it just goes wrong.
That could happen regardless of where you host your sites.
All the best, Mark

Whenever you delete images from the gallery embedded into your posts or pages they will be deleted too. You can save as many images as you want as long a you stay within the image size limits of WP. Stay at or below 960 px. I save images to my Dropbox and only have gallery images used on my site. Hope this helps your image management. ^_~
looks like you got your answer...yes deleting the image from your gallery will also remove any images you put in your pages/posts.
As far as having too many images stored...i don't think this is a problem. I imagine Kyle/Carson and WA are anticipating more and more people joining and more and more people putting images in the gallery over time.
I'm pretty sure they've prepared for it...
Right...I DID delete several. But the question is....do they also delete from the POSTS that they've been inserted in??
Thanks for the definitive answer. But that's crazy! I guess what I was hoping is that the media gallery acts like the picture folder on your computer. Whereas the images already placed within a post are there unless you delete them...but that you're able to delete them from the gallery to free up clutter if necessary. So theoretically if your site is humongous, your gallery could contain hundreds, maybe thousands of images! That could eventually use a lot of gigabytes!
Think a little bit further, if they were saved with your post and in the media gallery they would use the double of space.
Images from the media gallery can be used in more than one post.
So if you want to delete images, be sure that you didn't use them in a post or page.
Yes, as long as they're NOT already inserted in a post...then deleting them isn't an issue. (if I understood you correctly)
Thanks for asking this question, because I did exactly the same thing and was puzzled and a bit annoyed that I suspected this was the case. I totally understand and feel the same, I wish it was like your pic gallery on your computer where you could just get rid of them without affecting the places they've been used on your website. At least I've got my answer too, although it's not what I wanted to hear. :)

It seems with every keyword I try to get info on, clicking "Get QSR" only results in a weird icon appearing in the KQI column and the word "undefined" in the SEO power column. Anyo
Kyle is aware of the problem. Craig mentioned it in afterWAbby. Keep your fingers crossed. Should be all back together soon.
Weird, weird, weird. Just tried it again...in Firefox again. This time it worked...and I got a 'green light' :-) Hopefully a good sign.
I have issues with it on a regular basis. I've also reported it here at WA and support at Jaxxy. Nothing seems to happen.
When it works, it seems ok. When there are issues, I log out and do something else and then go back later. When I'm having the issues I really don't trust the results.
I would love to see this Activity Dashboard bar slide in until one gets ready to use it or wants to see what is next on their agenda. It is very annoying to me. Juat my thought's
I had the same problem so I started using a different browser. I don't know if you're searching with Chrome, but I have been having all kinds of problems with them lately.
I just tried Explorer. SAME THING occurring!! -- with every keyword! This is very frustrating.
