How to make money online

I started my journey at WA in early June and until yesterday I wasn't sure how I was going to make money online....

Did you know you can just sell websites you build? Mine was appraised for over 2500$ and that is a month worth of content building. I do and average of one page per day and 2 on my days off. I am up to 20 product reviews, 17 posts, 16 videos(3 are mine) and a few other pages. About 45 in all. At 50$ a page that is 2250$ and another 250$ for setting up the website. Not a bad extra income!!!!

I have been working on a website since July 3rd that has kinda become my baby. I've just passed the one month mark and my organic searches are starting to grow exponentially. I imagine once all my work is fully indexed I will be seeing even more and the value will continue to grow.

How I did It in steps-Every path will be different and at a different pace but if you want it, it will happen when it is suppose to.

1. Did all boot camps twice- there is no way you can retain all of this info the first time. I am a very bright student but still went back for seconds. Keywords are great for titles and meta tags in small doses and research is important. Know your competitors and how many slots they are going to acquire for your Keyword phrase

2. Attend WAbinars - every week(thumbs to jay for a job well done every week) The BING WAbinar now brings me half of my organic searches

3. Make friends at WA - People with good rankings are here all the time learning and helping)

4. Accept constructive criticism - for what it is(helping you grow). I'm not saying let people be negative towards you because criticism can still be presented in a professional and courteous way.

5. Utilize social media - I use Google + for extra traffic and brandig my site with my audience. I am also a part of a group that critiques each others work., leaves comments etc..)Some people will disagree but I think it can jump start a new site.

6. Learn your audience-I recently wrote an article and posted it in a forum of parents and targeted a few things they would be looking for in products I am reviewing (Over a 1,000 page views for those 3 articles in less than a week) I do my own style of review based on what I learned here but it focuses on what my audience wants.

7. Ask for help and opinions - as hard as it was to hear Kyle tell me my content sucked when I first started it was the truth. I'm still striving to get better. He didn't say it like that but after some more training and studying peoples work that came before me I am progressing.

8. Stop looking for a better way, If you follow the WA tutorials it will work if you are patient. I have failed more than once here and I'm still a student who is learning from the best

9. WRITE FOR READERS. My bounce rate is continually going down because my organic searches stay and read multiple pages(averaging 10+ and 44 minutes per visit)

10. DON'T GIVE UP! DON'T GIVE UP! DON'T GIVE UP! - Don't let family, friends or even some nasty people at WA(A very small portion of pessimists and jack@$$es) make you want to quit or lead you astray to some get rich scheme. There are so many great people here who want to help.

I don't need anyone to hold my hand! you know who you are.

P.S. To all my Friday night Wabby friends and Kyle a very big THANK YOU for all of your help. Never conversed with Carson personally but I know you keep WA up and running so thanks. I don't know what else to add but thank you WA for another source of income!!!!!!

some of the appraisal sites are hard to believe. I once had one of my client sites show $55k as the value - It was one of the bands I work with.. The client said he would gladly sell it and even consider changing the name of the band for that kind of money. LOL.

Congrats on your success, I know you will keep climbing.

Since traffic plays a major role in value of a website then it will definitely be worth more in the near future. I hope to keep this one but I'm going to build some just to sell as well. I could use a little cash more cash flow considering how much time I work online

Thank you very much for writing this. This post was encouraging in ways you can't even possibly understand. Thanks again :-)

I experienced some down days in the first couple of months and sometimes all we need is a few words of encouragement and to see someone start to succeed. You just gotta keep writing content. I wasn't in the mood but I still got up before work and wrote another review. 1 page per day for 60 days. No point in setting goals if you let a little sleepy in your eye come between you and your goals

Great advice, will be taking it all and using it.

How did you get to know how much your site is worth though?

When determining how much your site is worth there is not just one formula to use, but if you're getting traffic to your site it is worth quite a bit. Many people pay for traffic vis Pay-per-click networks like Google and Facebook. Clicks are can be worth upwards of $2 for one click, but average it's about $0.50 for a click.

If you get 20 clicks to your website a day, that traffic might be worth around $10.. Based on 30 days your site is getting about $300 a month in traffic. Multiply that by 6 months and your site might be worth $1800. This is one calculation that people might use to value a website but it ultimately comes down to what people are willing to pay.

The VALUE of your site is much more to YOU the owner because you can earn revenue from your traffic in an ongoing manner.

Carson

Thanks Carson. When I get better at getting traffic I think that might be fun to do. Build websites and then sell them!!

I definitely agree. I will earn more in the long run then selling the content that cost me hours of toil. Thanks for chiming in Carson. I'm not going to sell but it's nice to know that your work is worth something and that if you put the hours in then you will see results and money. One can only manage so many websites though. After I get these 2 running I will probably just build and sell.

HMMMM... well heck ya! that is very inspirational....good on Rich for telling you to share and thanks for sharing. WOW that is so awesome.

Kymee ; O)

It was actually Rick Jantz. Someone I consider to be a good WA friend. We swap ideas and critique eachother in a very positive way

Rick is definitely a great one...congrats again.

Sweet! What's your organic traffic like with those stats?

Im only hitting minor keywords right now. I focused on very low competition keywords that get at least 100 hits a month. My pages are constantly gaining rank more quickly then before. I get about 500 visits a week from parents forums on g+ and the stats are pretty concurrent for both audiences. I don't do well with foreign counties though. Also Bing has been a blessing because once I indexed it with a site map it took about a month for it to index about 30 pages but they ranked me well and I see almost as much from yahoo and Bing as Google.

I still want to hold your hand! Great post Ryan!

lol

I want to hold your hand too nenita. I originally posted on fb to my friends and family who thought this wouldn't work. Rick said I should share with WA so maybe someone will get some knowledge or encouragement from a newbie starting to be successful.

This is so cool, thanks for sharing. You've obviously been working hard and it's starting to pay off. Learned a few things I need to do: forums and watch the Bing Wabinar again. Thanks again.

Thanks Rick. This blog was actually your idea. Bing shows me a lot of first page love and getting toolbox was a great idea

Great job. My site was appraised at $5500 but I am not going to sell it cause I love it too much

I know how you feel and mine is in its first month so I know after a few more months and really building traffic it will be worth so much more. I'll keep ya posted and great work tommy

How are you guys getting your sites appraised?

You inspire me man. Great post, really helps me out. Keep up the good work! Sounds like your site is really taking off.

Thanks. I was a newbie not to long ago and it is possible for everyone if they want it enough. I'd much rather be spending 100 hours on my computer then 50 hours at the restaurant and 50 online. It will be within my reach very soon. Just keep pushing and you will get it too if you haven't already

Very cool.

I was very happy to hear my hard work was worth something

Thanks
Ryan
