Doing a combination of the above is by far the best strategy. It is important to continuously provide content to your own blog, but adding some articles to the mix will certainly increase your exposure as well as allow you to target some low hanging fruit keywords.

First off though, great job on making page 5 and better with your pages. That will certainly increase your exposure.
