So its been three weeks since I've been on Wealthy Affiliates. Here's a website update:

Content

  • I've already done two product reviews (keyword laced)
  • I have 6 posts at the moment
  • And 11 published pages

Design

  • I've changed my theme from Catch Box to a premium theme
  • I finally got a professional looking header for the site.
  • My Gravatar has been set and as well as my about me photo
  • I've also finally received a Favicon

Overall

For the few days I think my site has come a long way. I know- I know, i'm thin on content but i'm trying to space my posts out. Is 2-3 a week too little?

I've created the linked social media profiles and I'm in the process of creating a mailing list web form to insert on my homepage. I've switched from All-in-One to Yoast-SEO as recommended from my WA adviser and i'm finally getting the hang of it. I have a long way to go but i'd love some input. Please visit the site: RewardingSkincare.com and let me know what you think.

Also-- to the members who have joined before me-- how soon did you apply to Affiliate Programs after starting your site? And-- how many times a week did you post when you first started?

Thanks!

-Rai

Rai I think that your site has a Lot going for it and I found it easy to navigate. May I ask if you are monetising it as yet or are you still in the progress of developing it as you go. If you are going to monetise it what do you have in mind?

Yep i'm planning to montetize it... gotta make that WA subscription fee somehow! :). I'm going to try to sign up with various beauty and skincare companies and of course amazon since they have it all.

But that's my problem-- i need content and followers and I don't want to apply until i do so. *Sigh* I want to go slow but how slow is too slow.

Ok I just feel that if I was on that site I would want to know if I could get those products. I was impressed. My view is do not wait too long as it is a PRIME SITE. Now that is my viewpoint......

Yep-- I'm planning to set back and update the links for the products I review or mention whenever I get picked up by companies like Sephora or the Body Shop.

Thanks lots!!

Okay I will be watching your site with great anticipation and will have a glass of champers on the day that you do your first sale.

you are really cooking with gas! Keep up the good work.

Lol... thats a funny one but thanks. :)

Yes it is an English Idiom lol Like Hey you are going like a boeing (meaning you are going really fast and smooth) Idioms can really confuse readers at times. How about - Hey you are flying like a kite ( you are doing really well and things look smooth in your life.)

I post daily and sometimes twice a day. You can never have too much content and Google LOVES content. Do you like Yoast better? Have you seen better results with it?

oh wow... doesn't that drain you in content for the future? Is your site based on reviews?

I want to post a bit more to have more content for my viewers but i don't know if i should load it then go slow or gradually build content and a following.

In regards to the SEO, I must honestly say that I did not give All-in-One my full attention because i was slightly lost. But with Yoast I get feedback. I get a nice little green button when everything is good. I also get a breakdown of how I can make it better, per post/ per page.

I think I'll check out Yoast. it sounds very helpful.

My site has reviews, video, and little bit of everything. But I also keep a notepad by my bed so when I think of an idea for an article I write it down. So after a week I have a list of like 20 ideas.

Also I didn't want to start promoting my site until I had a lot of content so people had a reason to stick around and sign up for my email list. I have about 25 posts, but my goal is 100 and then I'll probably go to posting about 3 times a week.

But even if you have a review site, you'll never run out of products to review. And I would suggest making videos. They mix up the monotony of written posts.

BTW. I really like your site. The layout is nice and clean and easy to read. :)

Thanks Kierra. That's my problem too. I can think of content. I can think of how I want everything to be laid out. But its just that I don't want to look like a spammer to the companies... if that even makes sense. Idk

The def won't think you're a spammer. They want your advertisement as it gives them more sales. Or you can do the review and just link the to the product from Amazon.
