Introduction

Good morning to all you wonderful people at the Great WA Family, hope that you all had a, great weekend, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.

Do appreciate that it is Monday morning and my blog is always written at a weekend, however the next main paragraph will explain why, also why that I might just not finish this, if I do not feel up to carrying on with it today.

The main heading, "The Problem with Training! is a little controversial, but it is meant to be as you will see later.

Just Devastated

This is the reason for my delay and general sadness.

We have been aware for a couple of days that our totally wonderful companion, Sammy, a King Charles Cocker Spaniel, who was nearly twelve, was not going to live much longer. Purely due to old age.

When we came down yesterday morning it was to find that he had in fact passed away.

We are both heartbroken, he was a wonderful family friendly dog, and will be missed by us all.

When he went in the garden he loved to smell the flowers, so his final resting place is in the garden, in time this will form an addition to my herbaceous area.

The Last Few Days

I did say that I would have another week off, this week I just about managed it, spending a lot of the time on my Family Tree.

As always could not keep totally away from the business, this said I decided to spend a little time catching up with my knowledge of this wonderful internet world.

This has led to my title of "The Problem with Training", as I began to study one of my training manuals, the thought occurred to me that I was doing a number of things wrong.

The planning and structure were all wrong, should be doing this, instead of doing that and so it went on.

The only consolation was that I was having a week off, so I did not need to panic, tear everything up and start again all did come to mind when I started on the business again, this of course will not happen.

Have to confess until I began to write this, due to the other issues have not given this any more thought, until now.

Reading the thoughts of a learned guru is fine, yes, he or she has made a fortune, but are their methods suitable for the way in which I like to work?

Who or what is to say that what I do is wrong? The honest answer is that time will tell, but it does tend to send alarm bells ringing, well to me anyway.

Would be interested in your views on this, does training help or hinder you?

My honest opinion is that it can do both, feel that you have to look at what you are told, then marry it with what you are doing or want to do, then make a decision.

I suppose that what I am saying is will it fit in to the style that you wish to adopt, even if you just take the odd idea and add it to what you do already.

Thought of the Week

Thought that this was appropriate, given this week's title.

The Next Few Days

What a good question, the truth is that I have not got a clue at this moment in time, do appreciate that I will have to start on the business again eventually.

Will certainly visit live chat daily, helping where I am, but the truth is, as I know that you will understand, I am still coming to terms with losing Sammy.

So what I do this week could be anyone's guess.

Conclusion

A strange week, did enjoy doing the Family History again, but that is all.

Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy

Please do stay safe,

God Bless

Stuart

Very sorry to hear about Sammy Stuart, it’s very hard to lose a family member whatever the reason.

When I learn new things I use and integrate everything that resonates and discard the rest.
Not every one works, thinks or lives the same way. We have to learn and use knowledge as we see fit. Human beings don’t fit into a mould of one size fits all.
Enjoy your time off.

Thank you Linda for this it is much appreciated.

Do so agree with your comments about what we read and learn, must confess that the blog was a little tongue in cheek, but it did get some very interesting replies.

Take care

Stuart

You certainly did, lol.

Sorry for our loss, Stuart. Nothing prepares you for the time when they pass on. We have a dog as well and we try to cherish every day with her to the max. She is 8 years old, so we will still have some years left with her.

Related to training, I do both pieces of training at WA and at one other platform mainly due to the email marketing training they have on the other platform.

The training is followed step by step and then apply it in practice after each step, and tweak it a bit after evaluating the results.

Roy

Good morning Stuart,

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear that you have lost your cocker spaniel, being a dog owner, I know what you are going through Stuart. I always think the best thing to do is to try and remember the good times you had, but I appreciate it's not easy.

Regarding the training Stuart, I would just focus on going through the training step-by-step and taking action at every available opportunity. I believe the only thing we really need is the Wealthy Affiliate training to get started.

It was a bit different for me when I first joined Wealthy Affiliate as I was already making money online. So I knew the principles of how an online business works. I didn't need to go through every single training video.

My biggest regret is that I didn't know about Wealthy Affiliate when I first started online, back in 2004, it would have saved me thousands of pounds! I believe that Wealthy Affiliate gives you an excellent plan to work to. We have to be careful not to over complicate things, to me simple is good!

On another note, your family tree sounds interesting, it is something that I would like to do one day.

Wishing you all the best and a great day.

Roy

Many thanks for all your sound advice, it is just me I think at the moment, regarding the famiy tree have been doing it for over thirty years, even organised a world wide reunion in 2001, 210 sat down for the gala dinner on the Saturday night, they came from Australia, Canada and America, it was brilliant.

Kind regards

Stuart

Good morning Stuart,

Thank you for your reply, it's appreciated.

30 years in a long time to be doing your family tree! I guess since the Internet has risen up, it has become much easier to create a family tree. How far have you managed to get back to, Stuart? I understand that here in the UK, we have always kept good records which makes it easier to create a family tree.

Have a great day.

Roy

Hi Roy,
Thankyou for your questions.

Think the earliest that I have got back to is is around 1550.

Records on the internet can be dangerous unless they are from really goodsources such as record offices.

I certainly take no notice of people who say we are related, I need documented proof.

When I was working visited a number of record office here in the uK, it was my day off therapy.

Take care.

Stuart

Good morning Stuart,

Thank you for your reply, it's appreciated.

That's amazing, that's 470 years ago! Can you go back further, or do you reach a point where you can no longer go back?

I understand it's very important to have the correct information. The Internet is great, however, sadly some things are not always accurate. I guess that's why I don't look at the mainstream news as it only suits their narrative, I have to dig deeper to find the truth.

I think a family tree is a great thing to do Stuart, it's something that I would think about doing when I retire. I find this type of thing very interesting, I have photographs of my great-grandfather and family, dating back to the 1890s in the same village as I live now. No tractors, just Suffolk Punch heavy horses, no Land Rover, just a horse to get across the two farms! Although, in one of the photographs there was a very early Allis Chalmer tractor!!

Fascinating stuff!

Have a great day.

Roy

Thanks for your reply Roy,

Have got my wife's family back to a Conqueror Lineage, but will not accept it (No I am not jealous) not convinced about some sons, mind that is around 1315.

Regarding going back further, it needs very deep research in old manuscripts. This takes time, though I have been known to spend the odd dy researching in the London Archives.

Take care,

Stuart

Good morning Stuart,

Thank you for your reply, it's appreciated.

How very interesting, it's amazing that you have actually potentially gone back as far as 1315. I can imagine it must be hugely difficult when you go back this far. And as you mention, very time-consuming, especially when you are building an online business at the same time.

Have a great weekend.

Roy

Very sorry to hear about Sammy, Stuart. Losing a beloved pet is very hard.

The only training I do is here at WA. I know I have to be myself, but at the same time learn new things. So, for me, that means trying something new and then either tweaking it to fit the way I do things or discard it altogether.

Slowly, I feel like things are coming together with an actual way that works for me. But, I'm equally sure, I have much more to learn.

Lynn

Thanks Lynn, your comments make sense.

Stuart

Sad to here about Sammy Stuart. It's always a difficult time when you lose a treasured friend.
As for the Guru's, I have found over the years that they are Gurus simply because they are excellent at getting you to upgrade. I looked in to a number of well known experts that offered free advice to start with however, if you really want to be successful, the upgrades are suggested and they can amount to thousands of dollars. I'm happy to enjoy the experts we have here at WA. All the best. Jim

Jim great advice/
Stuart
