Introduction

Good Afternoon to all you lovely people of the Great Wealthy Affiliate Family, as always trust that you are all keeping both safe and well.

Another fairly busy week for a number of varying reasons, but as the old saying goes, "Variety is the spice of life!"

The weather here in South Derbyshire has been fairly warm and mainly very dry, the earth could certainly do with a good drenching of cooling rain.

When I look at my websites, then the content that I have available to use, I must confess that I often shake my head in disbelief, basically it is in a mess, hence the resaon for the title of this weeks blog.

Waking up after a decent nights sleep this morning, I decided that I really do have to get a grip on what I am doing, or rather not doing, especially with regard to the business, also WA, this as a rsult of Kyle's latest beer blog. For the first time in ages I did feel really refeshed, it could be that now that VJ Day is over that I can finely stop worrying about things going wrong.

The Last Few Days

The main happening has of course been the VJ Day Service, pleased to say that it went fairly well, made the odd error, but I think they went un-noticed. I did get very upset when the Chairman had a go at me before it all started, but managed to keep my composure, even the Colonel and Mayor noticed it, as they asked me if I was OK, I of course said yes and we carried on, will have to get this sorted out. Have spoken to one of the Committee who agrees we need to get things sorted, as I have told him that I not prepared to carry on as things stand, my mental health is more important than people's egos!

As it was the week for the compost bins to be emptied I spent some time making sure that they were both full, I have been able to clear some areas of mainly brambles, but where I have done does look a lot better. I was sawing out a couple of large branches, one got stuck, one of the young chaps was by his car so I asked him to help me as I could not quite reach, he kindly did so and his brother put it on the pile. A comment was then passed about the wood burner which one of them has, I said that I had a pile of seasoned wood which they were welcome too. The result is that if I get the pile of tree branches, all of which are well seasoned, sorted out, then that will be more space in the garden.

In fact unless I change my mind I intend to make a start before I do my evening meal. Talking of food, had Chinese Vegetables and Prawns for Lunch, followed by a portion of Millionares Cake, all washed down with a glass of Malbec, all very enjoyable.

Had the odd day at cricket, in fact went to a game straight after the service, this was at the local Public School at Repton, a truly lovely setting for a game of cricket, this school was built around 1550, so you can imaging how charming the setting was.

Having not had a drink for a while and being rather thirsty, I decided to break a rule and have a pint of beer, I was dressed in my new three piece suit, a chap at the bar took one look at my Gold Badge and said that is on me, thank you very much, people are so very kind, I had taken my medals and chain of office off, before i got to the ground, so that I did not draw too much attention to myself.

The Next Few Days

I have a habit of when I find material that I could re-purpose for content that it gets put into its own folder, I was looking for one last night, when I was horrified to find that I have twelve of these now. OK, I have a number of websites, some used, being used and some dormant, but this gave me a wake up call, either start using them or stop wasting time and money, more importantly dust gathering on the hard drive.

This has made me determined to really have go at sorting things out, even if I spend the day time gardening, housework, washing and other jobs I still have the evenings to start working on the business, so it is time that I made a start and stopped messing about (Rant at me over!!). Appreciate that I have said all this before, but I am now determined, get things sorted or pack it all in!!

Looking at my master plan on the wall above the computer screen I notice that I have a committee meeting on Tueasday, both football and cricket on Friday, the rest of the week is clear so it is time to make a start.

Conclusion

I have been wondering what has got me so fired up, possibly deciding that another few days away before Winter sets in might just do me good, so I have pencilled in a week in September and will finely decide next week, if I go anywhere it will be to Torquay as I can visit the site where I have laid some of Yvonne's Ashes.

Think that I have gone on long enough this week, do have a great week.

Be happy, Healthy and Wealthy.

Please do stay safe.

God Bless,

Stuart

Well VH,

I'm late again. I keep getting logged out of WA. I suppose it's because I don't get in it enough. That's on me. I get so sidetracked!!!! I can't believe it's Wed already. My week has been full. Next week will be too. I'm just not sure how I ever had time to go to a 9-5 job (actually about 7-5).

Anyway, I love the way you say things like "the Chairman had a go at you" I loved when we were interviewing a firm in England. Sometimes they had to interpret what they said.

I can totally relate to you regarding your files and what to do....either get on with it or let it go!!!! I see so many things that I think "oh, I can use that" and file it in a folder for it never to actually see the light of the computer on my website. My websites will have to be dusted OFF at this point or I might have to start over. Life just flies by lately and before I know it, a week has gone by and I haven't done a thing!!!! We need to GET with the program!!!! I'm right there with you!!!!! Maybe I need that glass of Malbec too!

Having said that, at least we're busy and as I've said before, I feel very blessed to have the life I have with health and all my friends that keep me busy. So, I won't whine but I, like you, need to get to work. Winter is coming although I have a bunch of things on my plate getting ready for the holidays already. (sigh).

Well, I just wanted to say hello. Speaking of getting stuff done, I guess I better make my words count.

You have a great rest of your week. I will try to be more active so that I won't get kicked off the platform and have to sign back in.

Take care

Hi VW,

Was not sure if I had missed your post or not!

Regarding the Chairman , he had another go at the meeting on Tuesday, so I reached into my briefcase saying "I am resigning" and handed my letter of resignation over to the secretary complete with my chain of ofice. I was very polite I cited stress as the reason, had some nice compliments but enough is enough.

In time I know that I have done the right thing, I will of course miss the job, but as was said my health is more important. I phoned my son who was delighted that I had at last seen sense!! He gets concerned that I try to do too much (At my age!)

Sorting things out could be harder than I thought, but at least I am starting to make the effort, it is good fun though, some of the things that I have found.

Having had a good look at my life, feel that in some ways that I am a loner, or just lonely, not sure which! Is it an age thing!!

Nearly time to put a Cornish Pasty in the oven for lunch, thought that it would make a change from buns with meat.

Take care dear lady, enjoy the coming weekend.

As always

Your VH

GOOD FOR YOU resigning. No one our age needs that nonsense! Our health IS more important. I often regret retiring so early. They broke up our team that worked VERY well together and farmed each of us out to places that had an opening. I just could NOT tolerate my boss another minute and I was getting way too many migraines. I could have applied for other jobs as many suggested but I was burned out. Sometimes you just have to do what is right at the time.

I tend to be a loner as well and I can't say I'm ever lonely although it would be nice to have someone to go places with. It seems that you have more of a need to be social than I do though. I look forward to the days that I can stay home alone and work on projects.

It's different for you too because you were married for so long and I'm sure you still miss her. It's hard but keep busy with your family, files and garden. I worked on Ancestry today. I get caught up in that and before I know it, an hr has passed. You have those files to look at as well.

SO, you have a great weekend. I get to volunteer for a kids event at my church. I do background stuff and don't work with the kids much so I'm happy.

Take care

Hi VW,

Just got in from a complete day of sport, cricket and football, so pleased to see that you agree with what I have done regarding resigning.

I think lonely could be me feeling sorry for myself, but I still am coming to terms with the passing of Yvonne, I still truly do miss her, at times I cannot believe that she is no longer here.

Think that what I meant when I look at being a loner, I like my own compnay, but I miss having someone to talk too, if that makes sense!

Have made plans for the weekend, but it will depend on the weather as I want to spend a lot of time both in the garden and on having a look at which websites I should keep.

Excuse more as I am going to have a glass of Malbac, and then retire for the day.

God Bless,

As always,
Your VH

Hi Stuart. Thanks For Your Post. Have a Good and Safe Week Too😊😊

Carla, may I wish you the same.

Sounds like an emotionally tough week. Take Care.

Torquay - well Torbay holds special memories for me. Both my parents were evacuated there during WWII. My dad to Torquay and my mum to Paignton - a very special place for my family.

As for the websites, have a talk with ChatGPT or whichever AI you use. It could come up with some ideas that might just surprise you.

I've just restructured my 10 plus sites down to 4 - thanks to ChatGPT.

Have a great week

2

Thank you so much for this, your comments regarding ChatGPT are most useful. Will have to have a play.
Hope that you also have a great week.

Stuart

Hi Stuart! I think it is totally normal to slow down - mainly on summer - on our projects!

The most important thing is that you are finding your motivation to keep on doing the work!

2

Many thanks for your comments.

You welcome dear!!

Hello Stuart. I hope that by the time you read this you have sorted out the wood. A tidier garden for you and wood for the wood burner for the kind brothers who helped you.

I keep thinking of you. There is a lot of cricket on a Saturday and Sunday at out local ground where I often take my dog for a walk. I've put an image here for you to see.

As for your websites, I can totally relate - either use them or give them up. I was in a similar position and I'll quickly tell you my story. I had been renewing my membership to WA without doing anything at all for a couple of years. When it came to renewing last November/December I took a look to decide whether I should either give it a proper go or give it all up for good. I was quite shocked, but also impressed by how much everything had changed and after familiarising myself again I decided to stay. I have loved it here ever since.

Now for the websites - you don't need to take my advice - but this is what I did. I still had two websites in closely related niches - toddler activities and children activities. They hadn't been touched in years either and needed so many updates and didn't have much good content on them anyway, so I decided to just let them go when the renewal date came around. I got a new domain in a similar niche - parenting - and it was so much more exciting building a new site than trying to fix the old one. And I have now started a second new one - also related to the first about children's books. And I am still excited about both, which I wouldn't have been if I'd just been sorting out the old ones with all their various problems.

I'd suggest that if you aren't excited about your websites any more, start with something that excites you. Then you'll love working at it rather than feeling stressed and guilty for not doing so.

Just my tuppenny's worth.

Sending lots of good wishes your way. (No rain clouds on the horizon - just blue sky here.)

I agree with you on enthusasiam being important. It makes running through the newer training sessions so much easier.

I think the old, neglected sites would just continue slowing any progress.
Just my thought.
Sami

That's what I think too. I sm just trying to tell Stuart my own experience. And it's made such a lot of difference to how I approach working on my websites now. I am excited and love working on them. And with the second one that is quite new I started following the new training and so the training and the new site fit perfectly.

2

Hi Isabella,

Thanks for this most useful and sensible comment regarding the websites.

The cricket ground looks to have an interesting slope!

Take care.

Stuart

3

Thanks Sami, more common sunse.
Stuart

2

Yes, it does have a slope. It's sort of the bottom of a hill. The cricketers play across the field and that bit is flat, I think, and that grass gets watered - the rest has got no grass left now since it's been so dry, and that grass also gets rolled.

The image is from the website. It doesn't look anything like as green now.

Good night. Bedtime.
