Introduction

Good Eveing to all you lovely peole at the WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.

Appreciate that the title is something that you are all always telling mw that I must do, slow down, reduce the workload and work with baby steps. OK the title is a play on words, but one which came to me this last week.

As you are all aware due to the problems with my eyes I am having to reduce drastically the amount of work which I do, both on the computer and on the business. As a result have been able to spend more time in the garden, this is where my thought for the title to this blog came about.

Bu any stretch of the imagination my garden is a total mess, the simple answer would be to take a flame thrower to it and start again, all joking aside it really is a mess. The size of the rear garden some 45 matres by 12 metres, is not large by many standards, but given that the house next door, just 12 years old fits in just half of our garden that is the house, front and rear garden, then mine is not a bad size.

Staring to get to grips with it on Monday, in fairly easy 30 minute sessions I began to realise that this could take forever. Then I had a moment of inspiration, I often pull out the odd weed as I walking through the patch when I thought, what if I do a little bit of differing parts of the garden in turn

This will enable me to move through out the garden a little at a time, rather than do a section completly, whilst the rest of the garden gor more overgrown than ever.

Then once a week, check the complete garden to see where I have been and remove any weeds or dead heads in those areas, before starting a new week in a similar weed removing manner. Appreciate that many of you will be shaking your head at this, but I am enjoying it, tidying a little, but different area each day, and it also looks a lot better already.

OK. where am I going with this? Could I not apply this to a business model?

Not sure yet, I do know that many give up to soon as they find it too time consuming, what if they had a plan that they could use either daily or weekly, which enabled the business to be done in bite sized chunks?

One idea could be for a new website:

Niche

Domain

Load the website

Introduction

Privacy Page and so on.

The idea being that just one of these would be done one at a time, a task that I would suggest is not to difficult to accomplish.

The Past Few Days

Came across some old material the other day regarding an advert I ran sometime ago, it indicated that there had been one visitor to my website in March and nine in April. So i paid a visit, as a result and a little bit of tweaking, this month alone has seen over 1,000 visitors already, must now learn how to turn these into a list.

Have spent a lot of the time deciding just where to go on the site when my vision is restored, much of this is in my head or on a sheet of paper, my thoughts above may now mean that I can work out a plan of action in bite siz\ed chunks, instead of going all out and taking on too much, as I tend to do.

The Next Few Days

At the moment I intend to carry on as I have done this week, keeping the old gray matter ticking over as I plan for the future.

At the moment not a lot more appears to be the option, but never mind, the fresh air and sunshine are doing me good!

Conclusion

I refuse to allow the continued lack of progress wear me down, just continue to accept it and think positive thoughts for the future.

Have had to change the title, hence the delay.

Be Happy,Healthy and Wealthy.

Please do stay safe,

God Bless

Stuart

I enjoyed reading about your gardening, Stuart. I know what you mean about the never-ending weeds! Garden work is a great distraction however. Sounds like you have discovered something intriguing to turn your traffic around...great work!

Hope things improve with your eyes, as that is not easy. Take care and have a great week.

Susan

Hi Susan, as always thank you for your kind comments.

I hope that you also have a great week.

Stuart

Happy to hear that you are getting to spend some quality time in the garden Stuart!

Love the strategy you have implemented too...

Biting off more than one can chew will rarely turn out favourably!

Taking things "little chunk" by "little chunk" will always get us to our destination instead of giving up and going home!

I hope you are well my friend and have a great week! :-)

Thanks as always Jessie,

Have a great week and take care.

Stuart

Always a pleasure Stuart and enjoy what is left of your week too!

In all things, Stuart, small chunks will get you to where you wish to be, my friend!

Jeff

Hope so Jeff, many thanks.

Stuart

I know so, Stuart, and you are very welcome, my friend!

Jeff

Hello VH

Glad to hear you're balancing time on the computer with working in the garden. Hopefully you'll keep this routine even after your eyes are fixed. The garden and sunshine restore the soul.

I don't have a garden or even any real plants outside my house because I'm often on my way to or from NY and there is no one to water them when I'm gone. However, since it's Spring and I'm currently here in NY, I have been working outside my MILs house.

We purchased plants on Sunday that she wanted to put in her front garden. Like last year though, I had to weed the mess in the garden first. She can't take care of it so whatever gets done is what I do (a little frustrating). I had a whole PILE of weeds that I was trying to figure out how to dispose of. Fortunately the guy across the street must have read my mind and pulled up with a wheel barrow. There's still a little more to do but I'll have to get the flowers planted today or tomorrow. I'm heading home Thurs (YAY).

I'm finding it harder and harder to disrupt my own life to come here (7-9 hr drive) especially now with the price of gas. Anyway, I got to see some friends and we celebrated my big day so that was nice.

Continue to take "little chunks". Remember how "they" say to eat an elephant..............one bite at a time.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Hi VW,

What a lovely surprise to hear from you whilst you are in NY, just do not overdo the gardening. Thought that I had lost this post but managed to retrieve it.

Take care dear lady, have a safe jouney home on Thursday, will be thinking of you.

Your VH

A nice analogy Stuart. I am all for breaking things down into bite sized pieces.
Stephen

Thanks Stephen, it is surprising how things click sometimes.
