How Did I Do - Week One

Here we are again after some week, so let’s not get carried away and start at the beginning. You may recall that I had one or two doubts, problems, things that I was not happy with in my post of last week. So I set myself some goals.

These were:

  • Sort out Amazon
  • Make one list, not several
  • Make a proper business plan
  • Reduce time on WA mails
  • Work on the web site
  • Visit other WA web sites
  • Continue Training
  • Sort out a Branding name, then get a domain
  • Do a little gardening each day, if only half an hour.

First of all my grateful thanks to all who gave me some great feedback and suggestions on how to go about my tasks. Dave sent me his daily schedule, Heidi suggested I just do Amazon, Training and Gardening. Virtually bin the rest until I had sorted out the first two. All serious and valued comments, had a couple who said just set one goal at a time, a number said do go gardening. OK so what did I do.

  • Amazon was sorted out, not over convinced with the result, but at least I got it on the page, this was thanks to the help of the WA fraternity, least I have a printout should I need it for the next time that I need to upload to Amazon.
  • Despite being advised to throw all my lists in the bin, do need one, to ensure that all my other jobs get done, not just WA.
  • Not touched the business plan as yet.
  • Have significantly reduced the amount of time which I spend on WA mails, not only has this given me more time to do other things, but freshened me up, as I did not realise that answering so many posts was actually getting me down, as it was stopping me from doing other WA activity. However as my special post showed yesterday, am in the top 200.
  • Have visited a number of WA websites, this has helped to give me ideas to redesign or alter my own, which I am not happy with at the moment as it is very bland, basic or just plain boring.
  • Have done some training, albeit not a lot. Do have task post almost ready to publish.
  • Whilst I was advised to leave the branding until I had finished the certification training, did have a light bulb moment for a brand name, also checked and a domain is also available.
  • Have managed to get in the garden most mornings after I have been for my paper, just for thirty to forty minutes, before it gets too warm. Then spend some time in the evening after my dinner has digested, the veg patch though tiny, does need a water every night as do my Hydrangeas. Due to other commitments this has not always been possible, but have managed to clear and clean the remains of the Victorian brick path, this runs alongside my shade garden, which has nine varieties of Ferns growing in it. When I went in this morning it is starting to look something like it should.

It is my intention to continue to work on this list, for at least another week. Having said that, the work on WA next week will be reduced as I am in London for most of the week, with Membership Council meetings.

Can I offer my grateful thanks to all those who sent me messages on making the top 200, they were all very much appreciated and valued. If I did miss sending you a reply, please accept my sincere apologies it was not intentional, but the number I received in such a short space of time, rather overwhelmed me.

It is still my belief that whilst I did some work, at the end of the day it is a team effort.

Enjoy all that you do.

So until the next time, for those in the UK do enjoy the sun, but use sun cream and wear a hat.

It is a pleasure Louisa.

Debbie

Thanks Debbie.

I make a to do list every Monday morning before starting my week. This gives me direction and goals..

I have tried a number of ways, but am trying this for the time being, thanks for your input.

I get you , the WA mail can get to a huge daily time eater, I am trying to streamline the time it takes for me to answer everyone as much as possible. I do that everyday as one of my to do list, I find if I leave it for a day or 2 it can get overwhelming, Good thoughts I think I am with you with the list, I have to have one or I get lost in one!!...lol...

Many thanks for this, I had the same problem with the WA mails, until I streamlined things a little.

RAFStuart glad you are heading in the right direction, just been watching England and Sweden in the quaterfinal..looks like you guys are through!!...good luck

We sure are. thanks for your kind words.

Nice one Stuart. Great to see that you are starting to be organised and methodical.
I know what you mean about the time spent on WA emails!! Its so addictive I lose far too much time on them - something for me to work on!

Have a great weekend and keep up the great work

Many thanks Jon,
May you also have a great weekend.
