Introduction

Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well,

Yet another strange week, as you will read, started off quite brightly had a dreadful couple of days in the middle, then was quite positive towards the end of the week.

Our health is very important, this includes our eyesight and I had a nasty scare in the middle of the week.regarding my vision.

The Last Few Days

Things began in a positive frame of mind, decided to get some research and training done mainly on list building, with a little time spent on some advertising ideas.

Come Wednesday and the bombshell, had a check up at the opticians, during the test realised that my eyesight was getting worse, in fact I was shocked how badly it had deteriorated. At the end the told me that the was very concerned and that the needed to do an in depth on the back of my eyes, Could I stay, but if I did I could not drive for several hours.

To this I had to reply no as I had the car as I needed to go shopping and the meter would be running. He replied that it was urgent, so we arranged for me to have these tests the next morning.

Must confess that I was very concerned, thought that I could be going blind, had a bad day not helped by a bad Legion meeting.

Next morning, very apprehensive I walked into Town for my eye examination.

To cut a long story short, need not have got so worried. Yes my eyes are not good, cataract that should have been done three years ago, and wasn't due to Co-vid, is really quite bad so that needs doing. The other eye which was done, the lens has fogged over so needs to have laser treatment.

The optician hopes to get me into the NHS Clinic in three months, this is better than the local hospital which is at least a year's wait.

Have agreed not to drive, if they get any worse until I have the work that is needed to be done carried out.

Come Friday I began to feel a lot more content, so if I cannot drive for a few months, so what.

That night I had a look at some designs that I had thought about for book covers, fairly happy with the results so far.

Yesterday, stripped down an old poly greenhouse, only a small one, which had been damaged and replaced it with a taller version.

Last night started to look at my website, will study what needs doing with regard to advertising, also what free books or articles I can give away.

Continued in the same vein this morning, so with luck things might just get better next week.

This afternoon it was medals and bowler hat as I attended the Civic Service for the new Chair of the Co9uncil. As always a lovely occasion, it was held in the Parish Church where I was a Choir Boy also reading the lesson, it was lovely to see some of the old faces once more.

The Next Few Days

Have been able to begin to map out my plans with regard to advertising, does need a lot of work, but think that I know what I need to do with regard to how to do it and where to start, but will need to check it out first.

My website does have a test facility on it, so I can see just what it looks like before I press publish.

Will continue to decide what to give away with the advert, in the realm of small steps feel that these two targets could be enough for next week.

As you will gather am once again I am in a better frame of mind, so will just hope that I can show some progress when I write the blog next week.

Conclusion

Despite it being a funny week, decent start and finish, with a funny old middle, do think that once again that I* can see where I want to be, just wish that my plans could remain constant, and not change each week.

In some ways it is mind over matter, in others if I see an idea and decide to pursue it, instead of sticking to the original plan, but making a note of any other ideas that I come across so that I can work on them later.

It could be a lack of faith in my ability to carry out the original plan, instead of seeing it through to either a logical conclusion, or giving up when I realise that it will not work.

Just very impatient I guess.

Be Happy Healthy and Wealthy.

Please do stay safe,

God Bless

Stuart

Hey VH

This week has been CRAZY busy and I should be in bed by now. I can't believe the week zipped by and it will be Friday tomorrow. I already have my list of things to do through Sunday.

I've been wondering about your eye appointment. You told me about it in your last reply. I'm so glad it's not anything too serious. i can't imagine you not being able to use the computer. I know personally I'd go mad!!!

Never lose faith in your ability! Like most of us, you are your own worst critic. You can do anything you set your mind to so don't forget that!!!!

Stay healthy
Your VW

Hi VW,

Many thanks for your reply, pleased that you are busy, have decided to only drive to the shop now for the weekly shop until my surgery is done.

Have been given the 21st May for my assessment for the cateract. which is good news.

Do not overdo it, but do take great care.

As always

Your VH.

Hi Stuart,
I totally understand your eye concern. I was diagnosed with Retinaopoly which caused me to give up my Drivers license.

Both eyes have been operated back a few years ago for cataracts and are fine. Right now my left eye has rogue eyelashes growing into the corona. The Dr. just pulls the eyelashes out every month or so. Faith is the answer for all healing.

Best wishes to you in dealing with your issues.

God bless.

Bill

many thanks Sue, for your valued comments.

Stuart

Glad of the happier ending... you had me on pins and needles in the middle!

Thanks Rosanna.

I had the same issue a few months ago Stuart with mine. No problem it's apparently quite normal and regular checks keep it in check.

My eyesight for someone my age was overall pretty good considering I had been using cheap readers before buying specsavers decent ones.

Glad you are all sorted though

Hi Dave, good to hear from you, also your comments, they do help.

Glad you discovered the eye problem. I went through that one just before moving to Gustavus, 11 years ago. Had to have cataracts removed from both eyes, but, glory be, it returned my vision to 20-20! No complaints here.

Was pretty much the same after my right was done, but Covid stopped the other one from being seen too, this is very bad now, the lens in my right eye has now foggef up.
