Family History Site Started
Introduction
Good evening to all you lovely people at the wonderful WA Community, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well. Having had my first jab against Covid yesterday, with my wife having hers tomorrow, must confess that I feel a lot more content in myself. Think that having a few weeks off from the internet has also helped me relax a lot more.
Just got to decide how continue to progress, thus improving my business.
The Last Four Days
Posted my first article on my new website, had a few comments and it has so far received favourable remarks, the next one is ready for posting on Wednesday. Having a number of articles ready a few weeks in advance has enabled me to put down the start of a new project.
As I mentioned last week I have started to really get sorted out with regard to social media, realising that I really have got to understand all aspects of social media, far better than I do. Have started to gather all the material that I have on the subject into one general folder, split into segments. This will form a new project that I will concentrate on for say one hour a day, this should allow me time to still work on my Family Tree Website.
Have done a lot more training on general .marketing and associated subjects. Despite being involved at both the WA and also my internet business for a few years, these last few days have shown me just how little I know.
This of course means that I have a fair amount of thinking and sorting out to do, but as usual I will get there. It has been quite interesting reading how when I have got my material re purposed, how to upload to my website. At last I have an in depth training on how to amend my videos, just a lot more work to do, so more reorganisation needed, as I continue to learn how to upload my opt-in pages and offers.
Possibly the only thing that I am happy with at the moment is rewriting the sales page.
It will come as no surprise to learn that whilst starting to sort out the social media project, that I have done a draft on a book about social media. One of these days these books that I have on the go could just get published.
Am having to be careful that I do not try to do too many projects at once, so will take the next couple of days planning exactly what I do need to do.
Back to my favourite subject planning!
The Next Three Days
Will continue my training on marketing and social media, hopefully will be able to gather some more material together so that eventually I will have a complete library for me to refer to, as I try to learn just how to work with social media, also how it works to enable me to use it successfully in my business.
Just because I am on a few of the sites, these are as a private person, I have to sort out the business side, otherwise the time that I am spending learning about social media will be totally wasted.
Conclusion
In some ways, apart from some training and posting my first article, do not feel in some ways that I have learnt anything or done anything. But in retrospect at least I am beginning to see some ideas, just got to sit down, slow down and calm down. That way if I stop and think for a few days, then I might just be able to progress.
No, I am not feeling sorry for myself, just being realistic.

Even though I have been here a long time, I am still learning. I think that that is the nature of the beast.
Revisiting training along to add to the base of knowledge I have will be an ongoing endeavour.
This often leads to revamping a section of my site, or my plan.

Your family history website sounds interesting, it's great that you're making progress and have posts ready to upload. I wish you every success with your new website.
I hear you regarding taking on too many projects at once, I know I have to be careful about taking on too much. We can only really do one job at a time, successfully, I believe.

I'm sorry to hear about your broadband being down, it's something that we tend to rely on in this day and age. Did you know that you can use your smartphone as a mobile hotspot? I have tested this out and it seems to work okay, providing your mobile signal is good. We also have a mobile router, will often take this to Greece when we are in my wife's home country, it works well.
Regarding carrying out one job at a time; I think failure to do this can sometimes result in almost overload and we end up doing nothing!

Hi Roy, I do, do jobs, but tend to move around too much so they do not always get finished. One of these days I will learn. Broadband was caused by BT being stupid, so I have left them.

Hi Stuart,
It is a process, myself I have dabbled with this for years without making a true commitment.
But now with lockdown I am looking to make this a viable business opportunity, but in all my dabbling's the one thing I know is to follow the training plan without being side tracked to much, it really is the best I have come across with all the support available.
