Banner Ads
Introduction
Good afternoon to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
First of all, can I thank all of you who gave me such sage advice regarding the writing of content, it was very much appreciated.
As expected, most of the week was taken up watching the last four days of the cricket season, very good it was too. As a result, not a lot of work has been done on the website, or in fact on anything else.
Getting home fairly late each evening meant that had very little time to do more than have a meal, pay a brief to the live chat site, clear my emails then it was time for bed.
The last couple of days has seen me able to get back working on the website.
The Last Few Days.
Before I added anymore content decided that I would play at getting some advertising started again. Decided to have a look at using Banner Ads.
As a result of this I have started a campaign using three different banners for the website as a trial to see which works best. Some three days in I have had an average of 1.3% click through over the three sites. Will monitor this to see if I do get anyone who wants to stay on the site and take the offer. Which is another way of saying watch this space.
Due to the lack of time did not even get my A3 pad out to start planning until last night, but hopefully I do now have an idea of where I want to be, and what I want to do.
The major problem or thought will be what to add as an incentive when I get some more content ready, in other words why should they read my content and come back again. To this end I am doing a lot of research to see not only what I have, but what will work best.
Have continued to do some training as I continue to understand the workings of the Internet, despite being on the net for so long feel that I still know very little about it. Have even considered going back to the WA training but knowing me will continue to bumble along.
The Next Few Days
Whilst I will continue to monitor the click through rate of the Banner Ads, will also look at ways to monetise any content that I write, this should be fun!
Intend to really get to grips with how I should be doing things as I feel that I am missing a trick somewhere along the line. It could be that as usual I am trying to do too much at the same time instead of concentrating on one thing at a time.
Now that I am used to it quite like the way in which blog posts have now been set up, especially the automatic grammar checker, much better than doing it separately.
Having read this again, realise that I have promised to start decorating now that the cricket season has finished, this will of course take up some of my business time, I do like to get it done before the nights draw in too much, as I prefer natural light rather than electric so that I can see what I am doing.
As well as the decorating I have to write my last annual report for the Royal British Legion before I finally step down on Wednesday. Whilst I have been active in the Branch for some thirty years, it will do me good to step away and just be a non-active member, letting others do the worrying and the work.
Conclusion
In some ways a bit of a lost week with regard to the business, but I have enjoyed what I have done, which is the main thing. The old saying of all work and no play springs to mind.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy,
Please do stay safe,
God Bless
Stuart

Well.. the end of the cricketing season should never be missed Stuart... I hope that the results ended favourably for your county...
I totally agree that decorating is much better to do with natural light, so you better crack on with that!!
Keep on keeping on with your online business my friend and remember that each step forward is a step in the right direction!
It sounds like you have all your ducks in a row, Stuart! Very well done, my friend!

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can definitely relate to your statement "It could be that as usual I am trying to do too much at the same time instead of concentrating on one thing at a time."
In my world, one thing always and rapidly leads to another. I have to discipline myself not to veer off on a side rail until I've finished the main task. But it is getting better.
All the best to you,
God Bless,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Love your reply, we appear to be on the same lines as each other, just try not to get derailed.
God Bless
