Back in the top 200 once more
Introduction
Good Afternoon to all you lovely people in the WA Family, as always hope that each and every one of you is keeping both safe and well.
For a change I thought that I would pen these notes for my mid-week blog in the afternoon, instead of the evening
It was no surprise to me, having been offline for so long that my ranking had slipped out of the top 200 into the high 200's. What has surprised me is how quickly I am back in again. As most of you know, whilst I do not worry about rankings, it is still nice to know that what I am doing is moving things in the right direction.
The Last Three Days
Having carefully read all your comments about my last blog, decided to heed your advice. As a result have spent the last three days working out just what to do for the best.
Decided to have a really long look at what I was doing, what I need to do and just where to go next. As some of you remarked, yet again I am falling into the trap of trying to do far too much. The result is I have been having a very long and hard look at both what I am trying to do and what I have managed to do. The results shocked even me.
The website on family history, fortunately is far enough advanced to enable me to try to get really sorted out. The article for tomorrow has been proofed and is ready to load after I have paid my daily visit to live chat.
So what did I find! Far too much started and not finished, this will come as no surprise to many of you.
On my WA Websites I have some seventeen websites listed, of these:
About to be deleted - One
Not yet installed - Six
Installed - Ten
Before you raise your hands in horror, a word of explanation. Some of these websites are for the future, allowing me to reserve the domain name.
Of those installed, four do have a fair amount of work on, these include two which I am currently working on. One being family history. Some of the remainder I obviously had a brainwave and decided to install one, add a post, then, either got bored, forgot about it or just moved on.
Either way, just not good enough. This is one of the many problems that I have to decide just what to do with.
Must now decide if I continue with those that I have started or open new ones, such a dilemma, but one that I will solve.
If the problems with the website is not enough then add, wait for it, some ninety books in various stages of completion. (Horrific is it not) The total even surprised me. Plus other half started projects and side hustles.
This of course does not include a number products, which I can upload, to sell or giveaway, many to be completed, you wonder why my head has started to hurt.
As I sit here typing, part of me says should I just get a blank canvas and start again. My answer is NO, I have already invested far too much time and money to throw away all the work that has gone into it. Whatever a mess it might be in at the moment I will get it sorted out.
The Next Four Days
Letting you all know my problems has helped me, as it usually does. The first and most important thing is my website on Family History, this will be continued and posted too on a weekly basis. Will continue to complete articles ready for posting, ideally so that I am at least four or more weeks ahead of myself. This will then enable me to work on the next idea, plan or thought.
As yet, I am not clear what I will be doing next, several thoughts cross my mind, however, I do realise that I have got to delve into the mess of unfinished work, as I continue with my Family History site.
Once I see what I have got finished, half-finished or barely started then I will be able to, hopefully, make a definite plan and stick to it.
One of the first things that I can visualize is having decided what to do, is to then make a detailed work plan of say some four weeks.
Think that the main problem is when I go through everything that I have found is where do I start to unravel the mess, whilst still trying to run a business, in the hope one day of making some money. Do I in fact concentrate of trying to complete a website, then making it into one that will earn that money. Another thought is to complete a number of books, then add them to the shop that I have as yet, not installed, so the thoughts continue to whirl around my head.
Conclusion
You will not be surprised that I will spend most, if not all the next few days trying to unravel the mess and deciding just what to do with what I have found. Do have a plan formulating in my brain, but will let it percolate it there for now.
In my heart I am hoping that whatever the mess, that I will be able to at least start to sort out, without disrupting any work on the Family History site, which will have priority. I will not let what I need to do distract me from that.

Holy COW, 17 sites. I understand some are just place holders but they seem to still weigh on your mind. How do you eat an elephant???? ...................................ONE bite at a time. Pick a site (or 2) and focus on it/them until you feel comfortable THEN move on the next. Just my wifely thought for the day. lol

Congratulations, Stuart, and best wishes as you engage.
Following your progress, It seems that you have almost answered your own conundrum.
Family History site.
Settle in and focus on that and you may just find that everything will fall into place. I have found that works for me when the project load slips into overdrive.
Keep us updated Stuart look forward to reading about your progress and successes that will result.
