What Is A Bulletproof Life?

If asked what is a bulletproof life would you have a clue how to answer? Perhaps you’d ask why anyone would ask such a thing. Read my response.

A Bulletproof Life

Does the term conjure mental images of bullets bouncing off a bulletproof vest? It should. That’s what it’s meant to do.

On the other hand, let me make myself clear. I don’t believe in or own guns. I don’t have any bullets. I don’t have nor have I ever worn a bulletproof vest. Furthermore, I have no intentions of having anything to do with any of them.

The term is a metaphor.

How the term was created

As a retirement-planning and safe- money professional who specializes in life insurance products, is over age 60, in excellent health, and who wants to be recognized as someone and something other than just another insurance agent, I developed the concept of the 5 F’s:

Food
Fitness
Finances
Fulfillment
Fun

All the 5 F’s are concepts I am passionate about. There is more to all of them than what initially meets the eye.

There was a time a few years ago when I worked with an insurance company and the sales manager always referred to helping someone bulletproof their retirement plan.

It wasn’t long after that that I began thinking about A Bulletproof Retirement Plan as a good name for a business.

Soon after that, it occurred to me that since I am in the life insurance business, it makes sense to name the company A Bulletproof Life and what I do is help people develop a bulletproof retirement plan.

The company slogan is “Plan Your Dream or Prepare for a Nightmare”.

It wasn’t long before I realized the 5 F’s fit perfectly with all of this.

Keep in mind, at that point, I had never heard of the book or its author.

My ultimate goal is to share the 5 F’s with the world through honesty, respect, and best effort, live A Bulletproof Life, help others do the same which includes helping people create a bulletproof retirement plan, all while expanding my online presence and making my websites authority sites.

Online Marketing

Simultaneously, as all of this was taking place, I had begun pursuing the world of online/internet marketing.

I ventured into it not knowing a thing about it but with the idea that I have a business name and a concept. I believe in all of it but I believed and still do that there is a better way to market my profession than knocking on doors and calling people on the phone.

I wanted to find a way to establish an online presence and have people come to me rather than me always on the hunt for someone who wants to talk to me.

Let’s face it, for whatever the reason, insurance is not a very popular subject, especially life insurance. Insurance agents seem to be even less popular.

On the other hand there is a great need for my services and I know people want information but they don’t want to talk to an agent face to face if they don’t have to.

It’s just the way it is.

Meanwhile, I got nowhere trying to launch my company online.

I’m not exactly sure how, when, or why I discovered the book by the same name as my company and its author but I realized the book and the author were well known and I wasn’t.

I continued to flounder online.

Wealthy Affiliate

I somewhat stumbled onto WA accidentally and signed up for the starter membership because it didn’t cost me any money and I didn’t need to provide any payment information.

I soon realized I was where I needed to be. I upgraded to premium membership within a few days and I’ve been here ever since March, 2015.

As time has gone on I’ve come to realize that internet marketing is now part of my specialties.

Also, I have developed some sub-niches within the 5 F’s, most notably my passion for 60’s and 70’s rock and roll which align perfectly with the concept of fun, the fifth F. Of course the third F, finances, is what I like to call central to the 5 F’s for a variety of reasons.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve learned. The first thing I learned and continue to learn is how little I know and how much I need to learn.

The next thing I had to learn was that the reason my way didn’t work was not only because I didn’t know what I was doing but it was also because I was the one running the show.

I had to learn to follow the program and stop trying to jump ahead and continue to do things my way.

I had to learn how much a waste of time it is to chase my tail and continue to end up right back where I started every time I get off track or got off track.

I had to learn to stick with it and work through my frustrations and impatience.

The keyword used in this blog post is a direct result of my time at WA. Also, had I not been a premium member of WA, I’d have never written this and you’d have never seen it.
