How And When I Began
I began at WA in March 2015, knowing little or nothing about online and affiliate marketing. I knew I was in the right place right away.
I had high hopes of making a ton of money and I began the program. Although I had faith that it would happen, I kept getting off track and didn't follow the program exactly. I listened to too many people, in addition to listening to and following Kyle.
How It Worked Out
After nearly a year and a half, I was frustrated by the fact that I wasn't making any money to speak of. I became disenchanted, not necessarily with WA, but with the notion that I could actually make money online.
I discontinued my WA membership.
About a year later, I returned but my heart wasn't in it and again, I found myself getting off track, trying to do things my way, and thinking I knew more than I did. I didn't intently watch and listen to the trainings the second time around, because I figured since I'd already been through the program, I didn't need to spend time on the basics.
I was wrong.
For much the same reasaon as the first time, I left again after a year.
What I've Learned
I've learned some very key things:
- I don't know nearly as much as I thought
- I never really understood the concept of a niche
- I was prematurely trying to monetize my websites
Now I'm back, for the third time. The differences this time are:
- I can afford to not make money right away
- I'm focusing on learning not earning, at least at this point
- I'm doing my best to stay out of my way and really follow the program
The Real Lesson
If I'm going to pay someone to teach me, I need to let them teach me and I need to allow myself to learn and not keep trying to get ahead of myself and the program.
I'm ready to learn this time. I didn't realize it before, but I wasn't ready.

How active were you in the beginning if you don't mind my asking?
It can be tough when we're starting out. Affiliate marketing is a whole new world to me. I've had my ups and downs, but I don't want to give up just yet.

I was very active, putting in many hours a day, every day. The problem(s) was/were I veered off track and tried to do things my own way, sometimes in direct opposition to what was being taught. I followed too many shiny objects. The bottom line is, if we're going the wrong way, which I can now see I was, it doesn't matter how much effort we put into it, we're going the wrong way. I needed to make money in the beginning and often acted in desparation. It's not like that this time. I have a steady income and can afford to listen, follow directions and do what is proven to work.
I hope you stick with it and don't make the same mistakes I did.
