I’m a beginner at affiliate marketing and am having a hard time finding appropriate products.

My niche is baby boomers such as myself. I know that’s way too

What's wrong with recommending Wealthy Affiliate? After all, that is what you're using to learn & get started yourself...

You can find details on the WA referral program here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share

I can't recommend Wealthy Affiliates unless I can find products and services that don't involve teaching affiliate marketing. Otherwise, if you sell organizations that teach affiliate marketing and your customers offer affiliate marketing companies then it becomes a pyramid scheme in which no real products and services are sold.

This affiliate marketing thing seems similar to pyramid schemes in which you send $10 to the people on the top of the list and you're promised many thousands of dollars when your name reaches to the top. Unfortunately, that never happens because the scheme soon runs out of people who are willing to put their money down. Only the people who originate the scheme make money and that's why pyramid schemes are illegal.

Wealthy Affiliates seems to be a very sophisticated pyramid scheme since there seem to be few if any legitimate, honest and successful companies who use affiliate marketing.

If some honest, competent companies exist, please tell me how to find them.

I'd advise you to take a closer look into the differences between a pyramid scheme & a legitimate affiliate marketing program.

For starters, a pyramid scheme must operate on multiple levels (hence the name pyramid). The referral program here at Wealthy Affiliate operates on 1 level & 1 level only. You refer somebody, you get a commission - that's it, no gimmicks or levels.

Amazon have an affiliate program, through which you can promote their products for commissions. On top of that you can also refer new people to their associates program. Are you therefore suggesting that Amazon too is a pyramid scheme?

As I say please take a closer look into the differences - especially before making comments about companies being dishonest or incompetent (as you could end up getting yourself into bother).

But I'm now also confused, because you mention that you're looking for a company in the affiliate marketing space - but you don't want to promote a company that teaches affiliate marketing?

If you be a little more specific then as to what exactly you're looking to promote then I may able to better help with suggestions.

You asked me to be specific about the type of company I’m looking for. I am looking for a company that sells goods and services other than one that teaches you how to do affiliate marketing.

I find it amazing that with all the effort I have put in, I have not found such a company. And it seems that nobody else has found such a company either, because I have asked a number of questions about this and haven’t found an answer yet.

Oh - so you want a company that sells goods & services, but doesn't teach affiliate marketing.

Hmm, well there are plenty. Amazon sells both physical goods & services (such as their Prime services etc).

Etsy & eBay also sell goods & have affiliate programs.

Honestly the list is endless... But it depends what specific goods & services you're looking to promote.

I want to serve baby boomers with health and welfare products or opportunities to supplement your Social Security through work at home. I have looked very carefully on ClickBank, but haven’t found anything, as I have documented in my previous posts.

Check out Amazon then - plenty of good stuff on there... Full of health & welfare products, plus full of educational books on building businesses etc.

I am not asking you to give away your proprietary information that you may have worked a long time to secure, but can you name me one company that you have made money affiliate marketing or that someone you know has made money affiliate marketing.

I’m not an expert, but I understand the problem with Amazon is it only pay 6%. I’m not sure how you can make money marketing those companies? I do appreciate you engaging with me, though.

6% of something is better than 100% of nothing :)

I’ve worked with all sorts of networks - Commission Junction & Sharesale just to name a couple...

Hi, I’m new to affiliate marketing, so new that I don’t yet even have any products to sell. That’s why I’m doing my due diligence to find the best merch

Hey Andrew,

First, you’ll want to decide the niche you’re heading into, and the product research can help with that. But within your product research, you should also keep in mind the type of “problems” people have and they need a solution to. This will make deciding between products much easier for you to write about/promote at the end of the day.

I think you have a great deal of information to start off with, but until you start split testing what works, you will not know.

As Dale mentioned, pick one for now and roll with it. I’ve you had experience with the product yourself, even better but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Also another thing I like doing is going to the keyword planner in google > typing in the product/service > checking the epc(higher than 1% = people buying through ads) > go to google and type in the product and see if there is anyone else competing for it whether it’s ads or organic listings, and figure out how you can rank or in the future maybe run an ad.

Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks,
Michael

Thank you Michael, I will act on your suggestions.

Good. Let me know if you need more help.

My advice = trial & error.

You can look at all the statistics in the world but what you'll often find is that what works for others likely won't work the same for you... So just pick something and roll with it... Then once the traffic is coming try switching your links up with competing products & see what performs best with your traffic.

Imperfect action beats perfect inaction :)

Thanks for your help.

Hi Quint I use ClickBank, Amazon and Share A Sale. Good luck with your search.

If you don’t mind, could you tell me which specific companies you represent?

Hello Quint38,

if you want to market vitamins or natural products or anything, you can look like this: in google you write for example:

vitamins for over 50+ members

or whatever you want to look for, you will get a lot, also Yaazy also gives you links and many keywords,

have luck looking, there are a lot,

-Antonia

Thank you

Hi,
Without the usual we go too.
Click Bank,
Jvzoo,
Share a sale.
Awin
Amazon ETC:

Many big sores and businesses have Affiliate Programmes. Stores like Wayfair are on Awin. I would type in the kind of thing you are looking for and scroll right down to the bottom of the owner Website and see if It says Affiliates.

Catalogues just about any big name company now has an affiliate area. Where you can promote or do reviews on their products.

Just type the name of the product you want to do and go from there.

Hope that helps.

Debs :)

Thank you. Do you know of any specific product or service that you are marketing that’s good?

I am a Local Marketer and I also promote Wealthy Affiliate.

If you want to start with Legit business opportunities. Then you are in the best Place right now do a full review of Wealthy Affiliate.
Not only that recurring commisions here are brilliant.

That is where I would start for sure. :)

Hope that helps. If you then like the health section you could also do reviews of other heath niches that also have Affiliate programmes.

You can write about the good ones and the bad ones. Compare the affilite programmes in the sector you like. That way you have best of both worlds.

You are still talking about what you like and you can offer your opinion. On the Affiliate marketing side of things. That way you are not completely in the health Niche yet you are if you get my jist :)))

Hope that helps :)

Thank you for answering my question. I was looking for products and services, however, that don’t teach affiliate marketing. I want to prove to myself that affiliate marketing works for something other than teaching affiliate marketing.

Do you or anyone else know about products or services for either the health or the business opportunity niches that are real and provide real value to people?

I don't do much of the health section but you could reach out to Robert or Mary.

They are brilliant at the health side of things and they are both super educated in what happens with google algorithm's etc.

Robert deals a lot in the Cancer research alternative treatments etc that man is a diamond and he will give you good direction for sure.

Mary also she is in the Health side of things and she does google updates on all that kind of stuff. Another super clever lady. I would be sure to follow them even send them a PM they will help you just give them time to get back to you though :))

Hi Andrew what is your niche? And also it might be best if you ask them to PM you the companies, rather than name them here.

Hi Snazzy,

Thank you for your quick response. My niche is health and business opportunities for Baby Boomers like me.

Andrew, I believe that it might be best to focus on one specific niche rather than two at once. Either health or business can be a focus and then you can draw on the other as information or a benefit to it.
Most people looking on the internet for information will be searching for one specific focus. Your niches are both high in competition and very broad. However, I suggest you go with business only because the rules have changed and Google no longer ranks health sites that have no qualification or authority in that field. Therefore if you are not a medical expert or pharmacist etc , any health info provided by you will not count as real info. The baby boomer bit is fine.
Examples:
Online business opportunities for baby boomers
Baby Boomer work from home opportunities
Health Solutions For Baby Boomers
Wealth Online For Baby Boomers

The only reason I suggest you focus on a specific niche, is because you might struggle to get traffic if your focus is too broad and also you might get overwhelmed with your content writing.

Remember it is a need that usually draws people to look for information

Just a thought :) however at the end of the day it is your site and you decide whether to go ahead or not.

Hi Snazzy,

Thanks for your advice. I will change my niche to online business opportunities for baby boomers. Do you know any legitimate business opportunities that actually work?

hi again, great to know you are focusing on the one niche, if it is online business opps you are focusing in, then I can only suggest a few that I am a part of. Some are safelists that have stood time (ones I joined over 10 years ago) and earn from, although not at a large scale. They have been quietly earning, even when I was not active and so when I joined WA, I checked a few to find I had quite a few referrals and a little bit of money in each, to my great surprise too. I have their banners included in my niche site and will be reviewing them in my WA promo site.
Other than these, there are:
Clickbank
Shareasale
Amazon
E Design sites (many offer affiliate programs)
Autoresponders (you can Google these affiliates)
WA (prob the one you should promote first)
Siterubix
Jaaxy
*** You automatically have an affiliate link to the latter two

These are but only the few off the top of my head that I can think of, but there are others that you can join free trial and try out to see if they are honest or not :)

I just signed up for this program today. I don't know under which affiliate marketer I signed up. How do I find out who that is?

Secondly, I'm considering signing up for

You can not, and if so it will not be fair. Your actual sponsor is someone who invested a lot to gain referrals.
Anyway, your sponsor mgranados2 is awesome ;)
You can rely on him and all this amazing community

Thank you.

How do you know who someone's sponsor is?

I don't... i just read the mess below ;)

You can not change sponsors there is no need for that. WA is a unique service that helps each other out! Cheers to your future, we are all here for you!

That would be me :) My name is Michael. In your Introduction message, the one in your profile, you'll notice a message from Kyle and I.

Thank you. I will be contacting you when I have questions, as my training proceeds.

You're welcome. Sounds great! I'm always hear to give you my full help, so don't hesitate to shoot me a message in my inbox,or by my personal email which is: mgranados92@hotmail.com

Other than SEO which you will learn here with WA, I also do PPC, SMM, digital agency work, and then some, so feel free to ask me a question about any of it if need be.

Thanks,
Michael

He is lucky to have you as a sponsor. I see you helping people out all of the time.

Ah thank you Sondra! I do the best I can even when I’m busy on my own sites.

Thanks,
Michael

Michael, you are a great sponsor. I am glad you came to the rescue.

I'm always hear to give a couple helping hands. Thanks for speaking up in this feed. :)

Welcome to WA

I am not sure if you can change your sponsors. I looked up your sponsor for you and it looks like Michael is your sponsor. Here is his link https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mgranados2.

He did reach out to you like 3 hours ago. If you ever have any questions, you're able to reach him or the community.

Anyhow, I thought you should know in this type of business, you really don't need a sponsor. We have the entire community to help us along the way. I never hear from my sponsor at all.

I also try to talk to my referrals and they never talk back so, the community is sufficient enough. All you have to do really is follow the training, and you are sure to do great!

Don't ever hesitate to ask questions, everyone is willing to help. I hope this helps.

Thank you

You're welcome!

Sorry I don’t know how to switch sponsors but if you have any questions I’m more than happy to help. The community here is also awesome with answering questions!
The best thing I can recommend for those new to WA IS TO FOLLOW the training! Definitely a great place to start!

Thank you

You cannot change Sponsor. Because the one you click is your sponsor forever. Just ask and coordinate to him, with regards to your site problems. So far as I have known, you cannot change sponsor.

Hi, Welcome to WA. To find out how you signed up under, click the help center link that is on the left hand side of the screen.

In the center section, you will see premium coaches. Kyle and Carson will be shown. If there is a third person, that is the person that referred you.

Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to sign up under a different person. If that was allowed, it seems like it could create a very hostile environment where people were trying to "steal" or "lure" away other people's referrals.

As it is, the community members are willing to help because we like to help whenever possible. That is what makes WA such a great community.

Best wishes on your journey of building an online business.

Thank you.
