Hi Kyle,
I just wanted to ask if I can create a domain name after I have built the website in full and transfer it afterwards as this website has no content yet?
If you decide to leave WA, your account ceases however your domain back ups will stay for a period of 60 days onto which you have to arrange an alternative hosting provider (go daddy)
Yes you would be able retain website content, and once shifted to Godaddy you are free to do what you want.
You're not, thanks Paul for your question.
Just clear up that no :-) Yes, you can retain your domain name and the content, if you migrate/transfer it to another web host. You are not locked/tied into WA :-)
Just to start this reply off with, your website will never be finished, so you will want to purchase your domain name as soon as possible, as the domain age is also an SEO factor.
And yes, you can purchase a domain name through WA or GoDaddy, or any other Registrar. If 3rd party, you can simply point the Nameservers towards the WA servers.
You can find the settings under Websites -> SiteDomains -> Other Domains.
And yes, as WA use WordPress, which powers over a third of the internet, you can easily migrate and transfer your website to another hosting provider.
Thanks for that mate I appreciate it. I don't have any articles as of yet posted on my site so I didn't want to create my own domain until I have at least a few articles on there.
This is more of a learning curve for me as I have not done web design before.

You can move your website to a different host anytime you want.
