Sorry this is like forever later of an answer. But if you haven't figured this out yet, yes you can change your author name. Be aware than you can only change it once though. So make it what you want to stick with forever! The Author name can be whatever you want. I would go with your actual name or a nickname. You may have to adjust it a bit if that name is already taken however. Hope this helps!
