I recently had someone reach out to me and asked if I could write a product review for them.

They're program fits perfectly with one of my niche sites, so I've agreed to

I like Zeeuw12345´s idea.

Definitely a free trial I believe, then let people decide for themselves, if they are getting value they will upgrarde :) Hope this helps Stephanie

Hi Linda, thanks for responding. I agree, it's good to let people be able to decide for themselves.

You could make a split test with Google Experiments and see what works better. Google will send 50% of the traffic then to one page and the other 50% to the other one. Free

Hi Paul, thanks a lot for your input. I didn't know about Google experiments so I think I'll look into that. It sounds like a good option!

Wow, another great Google feature. Thanks for sharing, Paul.

Free trial :)

Hi Tosh, thanks for your response!

I think Free Trial is better.

Thanks for your response!

In a free trial, no credit card detail is required, so cannot be stored, and one can exit with free and open mind. But a pound trial requires you to put your card details down, I am always weary of free products (physical) but requires you to pay for little postage fees, since I have been fleeced like this by VISTAPRINT. They were taking £8.99 from my card for three months before I realised it. Their free product post & packaging was only £4.99
VISTAPRINT still do this up till today, do not believe their cheap advertised prices.

Hi Elijah1916, thanks for your response. I think it's better if one can exit with an open mind.

I agree, I've always been wary of sites like that too. They make you believe it's free until postage is involved, then you're suckered in. I usually try a avoid anything that involves only paying for postage.

That $1 will create the whole hassle of them immediately entering in their cc info. WA proves it's worth for free then lets you decide to join. I feel that's the better way. Geoff.

Hi Geoff, thanks for your response. I agree, it's much less hassle when it's free.

I receive some comments on my website the other day, but they seem a bit weird. They're short with spelling errors, but the main thing is the email addresses and website domain

Hi Stephanie, have not seen those but thanks for the heads up, nice to see your getting visited on your site though, even if they are extraterrestrial in nature.

lol, yea that's true.
I'm glad my question brought them to light though, so at least you'll know what to do if you ever come across comments like that.

looks like spam I would just delete them

yea, I deleted them in the end. Thanks

Hi Stephanie;
These can be concerning, but not to worry, as you can tell they are
submitted by some lunkhead! Scrambled URLs = scrambled brains - LOL.
Actually, we're seeing devious brains TRYING to fool people...ok;)
I agree with everyone's good answers here. Disapprove them, and toss 'em!.
You will start to get a feel for these, as you notice how vague the responses are... 'everything to all people' , short, useless, garbage answers...when you read them, they could apply to any blog, any post;)
Your precious blogs are much more engaging than that!

Take care luv,
Terry

Hi Terry. Thank you very much for your advice. I agree, I don't need comments like that on my blogs.

All the best!

You bet!
You're welcome, and all the BEST to you, too!:)

Am not there yet but appreciate that you brought it up in case it happens to me in the future, then i would know what to do. Thanks for the post.

Hi Seruwaia. No problem, I'm glad it can help others too. All the best!

I would delete as spam to be safe especially if they are not productive for your website.

Yea I ended up deleting them, thanks

Weird. It's not even like they were leaving proper website URLs either.

Yea I know, that's what I thought! I've deleted them now though.

Hi Stephanie,

it looks like spam comments to me. I had similar ones which use the same mix combo in their email addresses and domains.

I would mark as spam and delete the comments. :)

Hope this helps.

Nicole

Hi Nicole. Thanks for your advice. I'll mark them as spam and delete.

I have never seen comments like that. I would assume spam. Do you have wp spamshield installed? I wouldn't trust them especially since they don't have any real content.

Yea they look like spam. I've got Akismet installed, and it's all up to date. It's usually been good with spam comments. I'll just delete them.

Can't read them but if you feel they are not appropriate comments you can disaprove them.
Laura

Hi Laura. Yea I think I'll just delete them, they don't seem right!

Looks like spam to me from the emails and websites given.

yea, I thought so, will delete them. Thanks

I'm just wondering if it's ok/a good idea to write product reviews for products we haven't actually used ourselves.

I'm going through Affiliate Bootcamp, the part where y

Thank you all for responding, Everyone's input has really helped me out! Really appreciate it.

I have to agree with Takatomo. The "Writing Product Reviews of Stuff You Don't Own" seems valid. The writer, Nathan, really knows what he is writing about. And as Nathan writes, "you can't buy everything that you review."

Max makes a good point as well. Often there are reviews online, however, if you use someone's review, don't forget to give them credit. Also remember whatever you write will live forever on the net :) That being stated, it can be done.

All the best,

Hi Della, thanks for your response too. I'll definitely give that training by Nathan a read. And you're right, I can buy everything I review. Thanks again

I read at least 5 different reviews and base my reviews off the consistency of the reviews all the best Max

Thanks for the tip Max, really appreciate it!

I think you will find this interesting. If on Amazon, mentioning similar products might work, but most other sites, I guess it doesn't.

Let's say you bought a product A on Amazon and reviewed it. There are similar products, B, C or whatever, so just bring names up and you mention how you feel about them. Just be honest and say things like I have not used B, C, etc. but it looks good or I i wish I had this.

What do you think?

Hi Takatomo, thanks for your response. Yea that sounds like a good idea. And thanks for adding the link, I'll give that a read.

Just do your research, from the company web site that has information about the product. Research other reviews a glean some knowledge from each of them. Then write the review based on the research that you did. Be honest and use your own words, don't copy. You can even do an average on the star ratings from the other reviews that you checked out. I wouldn't write a review on a product that you had a bad feeling on, but there are many reputable products out there that you can research and write a very informative review on. You are basically doing the research for your customers and giving them an overview of several previous customers. If some one is researching a product review, they are close to purchasing. You don't want to lose that commission to some one else because you didn't write the review.

Hi! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question. Yea it would be a shame to lose out because of not doing the review. I know have a better idea of what to do. Your advice has really helped! Thank you very much!

Your welcome

Personally, I don't believe in writing reviews on products/services I haven't purchased myself. When I come across a product that I want to write about but don't want to purchase (for whatever reason), I will state that it is more of a product research piece, i.e., what I would do were I to go through the process of buying myself.

Hi, thank you for responding to my question. That sounds like a good idea, I'll let my readers know that my views and opinions are based on detailed researched. Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it!

Of course, what if you promote computers or children's toys, or clothing? You can not use and test everything yourself. As long as you are writing honest reviews

Hi Loes, thanks for your comment. You're right, it's not possible to test everything. Thanks for your help.

You could always read the other reviews and then write one based on what they sad. Just maybe throw in your opinion once in a while so you don't get nailed with plaigrism

Hi Gary. Thanks, that has helped!

Hi guys!

I just wanted to know some reasons why it's important to add tracking codes to your affiliate links. I know it's good so that you can know where your click/sales

what converts scale it up simple easy

I don't know of any other reason nor why you'd really need one. :=)

Knowing whether one source of traffic converts significantly better than another one is crucial information for shaping your future marketing/advertising efforts and spending.

Hypothetical example:

If you were to find that promoted tweets convert twice as well as google ads (for similar costs), you'd want to cut back on your google ad spending to allow that money to be spent on promoted tweets.

Thanks for you response Bob. I agree, I think knowing about the traffic sources is probably the most important reason for tracking codes...and it's so useful to have that feature.

I may be wrong (and often am) but I believe the tracking code is for you so the affiliate knows who sent the customer and who to pay! For me the most important feature although there are others.

Yes I agree...i think that is the most important feature too. I was just curious if there were other reasons as well. Thanks for your response.

Hi guys,

I just transferred my site over from name cheap to wa, and now my site looks like this:

This can be fixed but it takes a bit of doing. Your posts and pages are stored at your old host and you've just changed the DNS (Domain Name Servers). So the domain name is pointing to an empty website at WA.

You'll need to change the DNS again so that you can access the original website at the old host. Then you need to backup your site and move the content to the new website at WA.

I'll send you a private message because I can help you with this.

Hi Marion, thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I would really appreciate the PM. thank you

Hi Marion,
I have a website full of blogs wit Siteground. Same problem I think. It foes need updating but I would like to transfer it to WA.
Any thought?

You need to back up your website first then contact Site Support.

Hello Marion , my name is Eric and I have the same confusion or lack of know how on How to send Everything to WA [hosting ,hosting content And domain name].I know i have read in the literature from WA and BlueHost that I am supposed back up my site,But I dont know how to do that even. For me I havn't found the info that makes sense to me on this subject {backing up my site manually so if there are problem, I got a copy} Being that i'm still confused on this I thought the same thing that if I transfered the hosting to WA everything would transfer but its becoming obvious that not true.I guess its mandatory that I MUST Make a COPY ! ,like i said ,this back up will be a beginners experience.

Also how can i additionally take my domain name from name cheap and get it under the WA roof ? because WA has free HTTPS certificate and free who is Privacy.?

You can use WP Clone to create a backup Then contact Site Support to help with restoring the site on WA's servers Wait until you've completed the move before you try to transfer the domain name. It's easier to do things one at a time.

Thank You for the help That is a big help here. Thank You !!
