Adding HTML to the text tab in the editor which does not show up properly. After contacting this business' customer support this is their reply:

Plesae add this in the c

It is a bit dependent on what code you are trying to add, and sometimes also on what your theme allows.
As stated you need to leave design view and then enter code. And that part is dependent on your theme. If your theme does not allow you to toggle between design and code view, then it should work to add the html code via the text editor.
Some themes have issues with adding <iframe> and other functions, but the result should anyway be a messed up page, not a page that shows no change.

So don't quote me, but if in wp and in edit page. Click on text tab. Then click on code tab. It should allow you to enter html code.

Also you mentioned viewing it.. Try going incognitos on chrome browser and view your site like a customers view.. Some of the case your trying to enter has a ref link meaning the content may embed in your site from the originator

Thanks Wade. Tried the code tab & viewed on another computer - still no difference. Will try to figure out, if not, I'll just not add it in!

I am trying to add a "selector tool" to one of my pages. Click this link to see what is should link to or look like(?):

I got a reply from TrainPetDog, and they tell me to add code to the "code view" which is the text tab in the editor, correct? I still have the same exact problem as before. What am I doing wrong?

This is their reply::

Plesae add this in the code view, not in the design view and you need to check whether the breed selector tool is displaying correctly after uploading the html page to your server. If you check this in design view for preview, the tool will not be displayed and it will look like the screenshot you have sent us. You need to upload this page to the server after adding the code for the correct display.

This is actually a really easy problem to fix Ponomom.

All you have to do is to change the view in your editor from "Visual" to "Text" as seen in the picture attached, and then paste the code in the section you want it by locating the words that you want it to come after.

Let me know if that works!

Hi, thanks for the reply. That's the first thing I did, and then tried it several times to make sure, and then tried a couple of other different ways! Nothing seems to resolve it. I can just assume the code is not correct?

Yes, to add to Joekaprod's answer, you also need to save (click Publish or Update) your changes and then go into Preview to test the link to make sure it works.

Oh wow... That's strange. I think you're right. It may be the code itself then...

The very first thing I did was add the code to the text area, preview & publish it. Tried several times. Unfortunately, that didnt work. The company w/ the selector tool is giving the same instructions to add the code, but I really think the code is wrong! There is one clickable piece of text that goes to a page that has nothing to to with the selector tool! And the company insists I am doing it wrong, but their link doesn't even go to the right page! Sigh... I may just forget about adding this! Thank you for all the help!

Yeah, I was going to say the same. Forget the company and try and find a similar one because they're obviously having trouble internally and their customer service sounds poor.

Best of luck with everything Brandy, hope it works out!

Sounds lke they aren't worth wasting your time on.

Thanks Joeka!

I have one of TrainPetDog's tools on my website and it doesn't function. It just shows the Red bar.

I made the page Private some time ago because of the tool not functioning, and have left it that way.

I would be interested to know whether your problem gets sorted correctly!

All the best :)

Hmmm, it sounds like the code is wrong if you are having the same problem. I'll see what they say when they're back open on Monday.

If you do get it to work, you may want to view your page on a smartphone and make sure it is "mobile friendly".

What exactly is on the home page? Is it an intro to your site, or do the articles go on a blog roll? Then do you add these same articles onto a separate page by subject?

As you also start to publish more blog post, you will start to see a structure for your website. It also depends on the type of theme that you are using.

Your homepage is whatever you want it to be. Personally, I have mine as a blog roll, but you don't have to do that. You can have it be any page or post or whatever you want. If you want it to be like an intro you can make a page about you or the site or both and make that your homepage. I'm not sure what you mean about adding the posts to a page, but I will say you can categorize your posts so they are searchable by category, or you can add any posts you want to your menu. Hope this helps :)

Thank you for the advice Jasmine!

Of course! :)

It's you to choose what you want to have on your home page. For example check the WA website there is a call to sign up then some clickable items. In default, some themes present the home page with a list of all the recent posts. If you like you can change this.

Thank you, appreciate the input!
