Does anyone know when WA will turn on support for the domain.au name extension?

Featured Comment

You can host .com.au domains here, you just cannot buy them here. There is a lot of red tape to allow for the "sale" of .com.au (and .ca domains), and there are many domain registrars that you can leverage for this.

You don't need to move this domain to WA, in order to use it here and build a website on this domain.

You will just need to update the DNS settings and you will be able to use your domain with the hosting here.

The DNS is also known as the "nameservers" and these are what tell your domain to look for your website, which in this case is going to be the hosting here at WA.

Here are your DNS settings:

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

You can update this within your domain registrar (where you bought the domain). Upon doing so, you will be able to start building your website here within 24 hours, the time in takes for your new nameserver settings to propogate. It often times happens much quicker than this though.

Let me know if you have any further issues.

I don't think it will be supported.

Thanks.
Meaning I can't transfer it to WA and build a site on it?

You can point but not transfer :) You can maintain your yearly fees at your current registrar.

You can point to WA servers.

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

Does anyone know if Yahoo changed their authentication? Gmail through siterubix smtp server is not getting through?

Not sure I understand what you are doing. Are you sending an email from a gmail address to a yahoo address? If so not sure where Siterubix comes in. If not......more information would be helpful :)

Thanks Vetinari. I use "send mail as"... through a Gmail account with myname@mysite.com which goes through the smtp.siterubix.com server. This is not reaching Yahoo email accounts.

If you send it from
1. your gmail account directly (not the send mail as)
2. the email directly (not using Google)

do those get through? Need to isolate where the error is occuring.

vetinari, sorry for the pause. The mail goes through when its directly from gmail. When I use the "Send mail as" option in the gmail settings under Account and Import it is as if its coming from myname. myname is a site with WA and that uses the siterubix server.

I believe it is a setting in Yahoo that authenticates the source and it does not like the fact that it comes through an intermediate server? There may be a setting such as making it an Unsecured message that would fix this, but I'm not sure.

I don't think that is the issue - at least if it is it will be a learning curve for me as well :)
There is an article in Yahoo of things to check if you are not receiving emails - don't know if this will help (or be relevant)

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN22021.html

I will try and recreate this with one of my emails here and see what happens

Thanks for your assistance Vetinari, I appreciate it. I will let you know if I solve this first!!

Same thing is happening to me - email is not arriving at Yahoo and there is no error email either which I would expect.
Will keep looking - got me intrigued now :)

I also came across this problem with yahoo and many of my sent emails were never received!!! Also, there was no indication that they did not arrive, so emails I thought I sent completely vanished. I am currently trying to set up an autoresponder and I'm afraid to use my domain email through my gmail account.

Does anyone know if Yahoo changed authentification recently?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Are you saying you use gmail to send/receive domain email, but it's not being delivered to a yahoo account?

Hi ThomasPaul, yes the problem arises when I use "Send mail as" in Gmail. So myname@mysite.com is directed through WA siterubix server and Yahoo blocks this.

I am trying to link a webmail address to a gmail inbox. Is it possible to send (webmail) from a gmail address? I have tried the Gmail Settings to enter SMTP server and my passwo

Hi there,

as Aurorasa already said, you can add and manage webmail email accounts with Gmail.

A fellow member (@bothewebguy) has created a training about this very subject. You can find it here: I just added one the other day and it asked me for SMTP settings, so you're able to send through Gmail. The SMTP settings are found here at WA. To find them, go to the SiteRubix Tab ==> Site Manager.

Go to the Site Email tab and find the email you want to add. To the very right you'll see a red "Delete" button and right before "SMTP Settings".

This is where you find all the necessary settings to add an external email to Gmail.

The first time you get asked for a username and password, use them under Incoming Mail Settings. The username has to be the complete email (for example youremail@yourdomain.com).

If you clear out without an error, the next step is to add SMTP settings. You'll find them under Outgoing Mail Settings. Check and adjust the hostname as given by WA, change the port if not set to 25, add username and password. This should clear out without any errors from Gmail.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Nicole

Hey Nicole,

Greatly appreciate the time and effort you made to list all the steps I should follow. Thanks to you and Aurorasa I have now solved my problem!

In fact the video from @bothewebguy was the saviour as I had not been using the POP3 paragraph in Gmail (thinking that we have IMAP here at webmail).

So it was pretty easily rectified in the end but that had not prevented me tearing my hair out for about 40 mins trying to get past the problem the first time!

You gals rock!

What an awesome community we have here - I just can't wait until I have enough experience to be able to assist others in the same way...

Thanks so much!
Paul

Hi Paul,

it took me some time to get back to you but I'm really happy to see that your issue is fixed now.

Sometimes we just can't do nothing but tearing out our hair. We struggle, we fail, we find a solution and struggle and fail again. That belongs to success. :)

Wishing you all the best and you know what to do when you need any help. Reach out to the community here.

Many blessings,
Nicole

P.S.: You don't have to wait until you're "ready" to help and assist others. You're already helping others by asking quality questions like this one as it will help many people. You're truly paying it forward with this. :)

You can add external email addresses to your Gmail account through the settings. "Account import function". Once you have confirmed to be the owner of whatever address you can use it as an alias and send from that address. In most cases, you do not even have to worry about smpt settings as google figures it out. If you do you find the right settings in the help section of your provider.

Thank you Aurorasa, I appreciate the response, and I believe I am doing all the right things there, but seem to be getting a problem at the authentication stage. I am about to delete the email name and start again...!

Which provider are you using?

Oh, I have just seen below the issue seems solved. Good for you (:
