Slow and Steady Wins the Race.
Every now and then, there comes a sense of calm, a bit normalcy amidst the stormy seas of life. For a moment the buffeting stops and you can see the horizon. Peace.
I am finding as I take the weekends off from WA that I am more productive and calmer. My new goals are slowly taking shape. Ahh, sigh of relief. Just every now and then, everything stops and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing momentous, just, calm. Knowing I made a goal or a deadline.
It is a lot to me to know that crawling will get you where you want to go and you can absorb so much more taking a steady pace, rather than racing through life.
Never, never, never, feel guilty for not being a fast as or not knowing as much as someone else!
Don't fight your natural learning processes. You know exactly what you need. Do you need to watch that video one more time. Do you need to read it through one more time? This is not a timed test. No one is grading you but you...
ha , funny story.. I took a typing test last night. 3o wpm and 5 errors, not counting two or three that I took time to fix and watching my fingers!
The results? WTHE! I do not care who knows how slow I am. I get it done.. I am happy.. I had a sister who could type faster than a computer could keep up. No mistakes. She is not alive today, so, I guess it didn't help her too much. But, she was a genius. Alas, she was very unhappy later on when she died. Just sayin'.
Just breathe. (because I have key people who tell me the same thing!!). Take these moment you have to be happy. Train yourself with peace. Funny, me an ADD/distracted individual talking about contentment and peace, but, hey, don't blow my blissful moment! I don't have many!!
Drop back a little. Smell the roses, again, like people around me have been telling me. It works. It has it advantages. I am listening...(Jan, Lynne, Rawl, Julie, Betcha, Sami, Michelle, Peter, Rose Mary, Dick, Alexander, and on that list goes!
And for heaven sake's, STOP looking at that dang rank number(mine included) and do something positive for yourself! Stop it! Stop it now! If I see one more person whining about the flipping rank, I will scream!! I am screaming, WHO the H cares and what does it matter!? You are awesome!!!! Stop trying to define yourself with a blinking number! Here is a number! 10! You are all a ten! Kyle should have a 10 day where everyone is a 10! LOL!! I think I made myself clear. Please pass that message on! PLEASE!?!
You are perfectly imperfect! Stop fighting and simply be pro-active. Fighting is not pro-active.. We hear FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, but, I think people really mean ACT! ACT! ACT!

I can completely relate. I am a firm believer in single tasking. I wonder sometimes what are people running from or towards. Going nowhere fast. I see in nature the animals are not in a hurry. It's only the humans trying to move through life at light speed.

Slow and steady indeed. When I first started WA I was really obsessed with my rank. When I focused more on my lessons and being helpful, guess what happened? My rankings changed anyway!

Seems like the less I work the more it goes down so I just laugh. I have 2 mediocre trainings to anybody else's! I just don't care where I am on the board, the fact is I am ON it. Period! :) hug!

Your rankings are ultimately a reflection of the time and effort you give to other members here are WA. You my dear lady are kicking some serious BUTT! People will naturally flock to an easy going lady like yourself because you keep it real, understandable and effortless.

Thanks for this post. It does sometimes feel as if people want to change one grind for another grind. I want to get off the wheel. Even the church I sometimes go to is taking the theme - be lazy for Jesus.

Never a truer word said, well whole bunch of words but all good. I am a little excited when I see the rank number go down, but yeah it is not why I get up in the morning. Maybe it gives you cred, but people can soon see who you are by what you say and do. Particularity of those two match. Knock out!
So yes, take time t eat the roses. Oh no wait, that;s a goat saying.

Hola, mi hermana...am laughing here. I'd probably be dead in a few more years. haha. I just can't slow down. That's me. My students remember me as Ms Hurry! Everything has to go fast ~drill fast, write fast, think fast, analyze fast, read fast. During my lunch time, I have to eat fast! Lol. And I have to multi-task all the time ~I am already thinking of the next thing to do, mapping out a plan in my head while on another task. What can I do? I can't learn to slow down!

I know what you are talking about you sound like me 20 years ago always have at least 10 things bussin around in my bonnet. Well now that I'm almost 80 I've slowed down to a slow moan of about 5.
