I noticed on my website that there is an article that is just off. the pictures and links are in strange places that I did not put them. I went into the back office of my site

ok, thanks. I will go play with it and see if that helps. was wondering how to fix that. ugh.

Would agree with Marion, it is where you put the cursor.

Put your cursor before the first letter in a paragraph before you click the Add Media button.

You make it look so simple!! My nerves have calmed down, hehe! Thanks for that!

you will get it.... and you will do amazing!

Thanks for your encouragement!!

Your will do fabulous as well!

amazon affiliate account is no problem.. but signing up for others and using the accounts is a bit harder and, well way not as easy to use as amazon. I am trying to sign up for

thank you everyone for the great suggestions! I dont want to break my website so thought I would ask before I attempted anything! LOL. this is the hardest part of the whole thing for me. UGH!!!!

if this is the hardest part, then You're in luck. :-)
Make sure, though, to have at least 5-10 blog posts on Your website before You apply for any affiliate programs, as well as a website with "some" daily traffic flowing in... Or You will face difficulties.

It is better to keep the website clean for a few months to not "scare" those few visitors away from having affiliate links as a complete startup. only do this when it can really make a difference for the visitor. otherwise, they'll just leave - OR, copy the link and remove your affiliate iID since You weren't making an impact.

Just a lil bit of advice. :-)

thank you!!! been doing a lot of writing and posting articles - some with amazon links and some without. maybe I will post the article and edit later adding links? I dont know - so far has not bee overwhelming but there are a couple things?!?!?!!!!

TBaeshire has the solution, but if you are still having issues, as Robin suggest...site support is there for you...

Copy the meta tag and go to the Wordpress dashboard, go to appearance, go to editor. A window will open on the right, find header.php, paste the copied meta tag between the <head> and </head> tags and update. This is what I did anyways.

Correct that is where meta tags go!

Poor thing.

The hosting here at WA is a shared one, meaning that anything callified as "back end" (uploading files etc) needs to be dealth with via the WA SiteSupport.

You can do the first option by tempering with the code editor inside Wordpress, although I would advise against if You're not experienced with it since it could break Your website and this can easily be done by them instead.

All in all - contact SiteSupport, after all, as a premium user they exist for Your service. They have a 24/7/365 policy and responds in less than 5 mins. :-) Oh, and did I also mention that they are freaking awesome at what they do? Not to mention professional and exclusive for WA! :-)

Hope this helps, please let us know :)

I have a couple of problems that if anyone has an answer would be great/ 1. I went to the leave a comment for credit - read the article and left the feedback in the box provide

I screwed up once and left a feedback on the site comments page. After a long day I was tired and just screwed up. I apologized after the person didn't approve.

Since then I have left 118 comments for others with a 97% approval rating. I have only been "not approved" four times, and all have been by the same person.
I asked if they wanted to e mail me what they wanted commented so I could paste it, the last time. (That was wrong, but I was a bit miffed)

We all make mistakes.
Mike

Assuming you are talking about SiteComments as you want the credit, but you also mentioned "feedback". Did you leave the comment on "siteComments" or "SiteFeedback"? I don't understand what the site owner meant by "a wrong place". Does that mean you made a comment on the wrong post? Or the same thing as your #2 questions, you left a feedback in SiteComments? I am a little confused if you are talking about feedback or comments as those are totally different things.

Either way, I don't believe not approving the comment will affect anything to the person who left the comment. We don't have any obligations to approve everything people said.

sorry, I sometimes think something but use the wrong term. this is all new -its confusing to me on which term to use but I know what I am trying to say lol, but I went onto leave site comments and an article showed up for me to read and comment on, which I did - there was only one place to comment. I got a message saying it was not the right place but there was no other option to leave my comment elsewhere. he said he did not want to reject it and chance me getting banned from leaving comments. that was right after I rejected a comment because I had requested a post comment - I rejected someones comment because what she left was more like site feedback that I would not want posted in my article as a comment. she left me a critique kind of feedback that was appropriate for WA only comments on what is good or bad on my site....I wanted to be sure I was not causing a problem for her to leave comments on other requests even though I dont want the whole world to read a comment on my article that was more of a site feedback/critique that is for me only to read? I am having a hard time explaining it but I dont want to cause problems for anyone is the main thing

It seems to be a constant confusion that some people mix up with comments and feedback. I don't know if the person mixed up or just not being nice (LOL), but I would not want anyone to leave the negative comment/feedback on my website and let the whole world see it either! I think it is just an etiquette, don't you think?

I would reject it, but maybe let them know why you didn't approve it. I got my comment rejected because it was not just "what he was looking for." Your % of approval will go down, but so what. It's not the end of the world! The person will learn the lesson and not mix up the feedback and comment anymore!

I still don't understand the other issue. You just leave the comment on the box provided within the SiteComment (right next to the person's website image and below your email address) and nowhere else. Maybe you can ask him to clarify what he meant.

I think you are doing great for raising your concern and making sure no one gets negatively affected when people make mistakes. I appreciate your consideration. We all make a mistake, and not harshly get back at them but instead letting them know of their mistakes kindly is great support we all need here at WA.

Wish you great success!
Kyoko

I was not sure either how a comment I left in the only place I could leave it was wrong. He messaged me with the link to the right place saying he did t want to reject it and negatively effect me - I didn’t question it, just left him the comment. Maybe he asked for the wrong thing? Feedback instead of asking for a comment? Not sure but I think it’s a courtesy thing to ask and make sure we are in fact helping each other... things like that matter, we get further ourselves when we help one another, right??

Yes! We grow a lot when we help (and teach) others. We also grow by making mistakes too :D

There are two systems - Site Comments - which appear on the person's site just as if you were visiting from Google. Do *not* leave feedback if in the Comments sections - leave something relevant to the article you are shown. The owner of the site can reject Comments and cause you to be blocked from using the system any further.

Then there is Site Feedback - which is private and viewable only to the Site Owner and cannot be rejected by them. It sounds to me as if in both of these instances, the wrong type of interaction was made.

Personally, I only give Feedback (no chance of rejection), and ask for Comments (to boost interaction on my site).

yeah, I do get terms mixed up. I went to leave a comment on an article and requested the same. for some reason she left a critique on what was wrong with my site in her opinion so of course I rejected it because i dont really need that on article comments. I went to comment for someone else so dont know what happened there... I think I got that fixed but dont want to do something to lose my ability to comment for others and dont want to mess it up for the person who left feedback in the wrong place. thank you for replying and hope my question was not stupid. still trying to figure this whole thing out and its stinkin hard sometimes. thank you for your time!

Not stupid at all - trying and failing is better than not trying at all.

I’ve pinned and tweeted, googled and socialed myself as much as I can but I hate that part..Pinterest and twitter are ok, I can deal with it but there are some people in

pinkthistle,
I don't use facebook , I would not think you need to use it at all. Only my opinion , but some one should be able to answer this for you
carol

I think there are plenty of people who don't use Facebook at all.

You can also use Google + if you like but you really don't have to use Facebook if you don't want to. I got Facebook as a business account but what you could do is open another account on Facebook under a pen name and they would never know it was you if you want to. But you don't have to it is only a suggestion.

Can I still master social media without facebook?

The main critique on my site was that there are no thumbnail photos on my home page with my article title. (home page needs photos) my wordpress theme is nikko and on the sampl

Great to hear you got it sorted. :)

right?!? only took me 4 hours of finding nothing to realize I could just ask. lol

Have you set the featured image for each post? That's where the images usually come from for the thumbnails. It's down on the bottom right of the post editor.

thank you. my gosh I could have saved hours had I asked a long time ago!! ugh.

Awesome - you're welcome!
Hopefully that will solve your problem. :)

got it. thank you....

As i'm one of the people that critiqued your website and commented on the lack of photos, I've just taken another look at your website and I think it looks much better! Well done.

Just be careful about the size of the photos you use for the featured image. If it's not wide enough, the image will be displayed at its 'natural' size - which is why some of them are not the full width of your post preview tiles.

I wondered why it did that... one more thing to figure out lol

Hey Phil, I tried using the feature image, but it certainly didn't come up as a thumbnail, it just took up the entire post section, and then the post was way down below it. My guess is it is something within the theme set up, but I was short on time and have yet to go back to it...

Any thoughts?

Ted

I'm afraid that how the featured post is displayed is very dependant upon the theme you use. Some themes handle it gracefully but others expect you to upload a featured image at an exact image size for display.

If you switch themes after you've created your posts (particularly posts you've uploaded featured images to), you may need to regenerate the thumbnails so the images are the correct size for the theme (normally the theme will resize them as you upload them but if you've changed themes, the new theme won't have been able to do that).

The easiest way to do this is using a plugin such as:
