So I watched the video on how to buy your domain and now I'm wondering if I should change my niche because I'm not sure my niche would be something that could be profitable. Ca

go through the training with the niche you have chosen - but don't buy a domain - use it as a practice niche - you know about this one so it is easier to write the articles
then after you are comfortable with hte system then start investigating niches that you feel may be more profitable and you will enjoy writing a lot more about....as they will be more popular then there wil lbe more competition....so you will need to do more to get the same results.....
but i would go through the whole training on a siterubix site.....
good luck

Great question, and you have great answers

You're best to spend more time researching niche areas to consider in depth the best balance between developing and blogging on things of interest to you, and areas of expertise where you think you'd be able to offer the most value or insight to others on topics that are wide enough and deep enough to offer you a chance to get enough traffic and interest to generate a good income or profit for your time and energy.

If you just focus on profit then chances are you'll move into a niche that is too competitive or where you have little to offer which will make it hard to write consistent quality content that gives you a fair chance of getting good google rankings and search traffic, etc.

Maybe spend more time first using Jazzy on WA to do more niche research before spending more time setting up domains and websites only to find you can't generate enough traffic or your own interest in the topic to keep it going long-term

They say it takes just as much time to create a bad website as it does to create a good one, so make it worth your while with good research first and don't move onto the next step until you're confident with the niche you've chosen.

Thank you. This message right here just made me pump the brakes on going any further in my training until I can find a niche I think I can contribute good knowledge to and be able and excited to write about daily.

You know you don't have to put the brakes on fully... especially if that means not writing. Getting into the habit of writing is an important part of it. So continuing on reading and writing while you're honing in on the niche and learning things is in my opinion a good idea.

I really think the post below by Kyle is a good one to think about niches...
Sometimes if we get too focussed on the what, we lose sight of the who - the reader.

The niche is more the audience I'd say... and the what grows from that.

What is your niche that you would like to use?

Mel

I created my website and made it about laptop gadgets. After further understanding what affliate marketing entails I have my doubts that I can consistently write about gadgets that I dont have or own

I'm no expert, but there is a lot of info available about anything online. From the manufacturers, to other reviews, press releases..etc to come up with a good review or even better review than others. True, you have first hand experience with something its easier to write about that. I would expect there are hundreds or even more gadgets for laptops... maybe include laptops also... I would consider what the % commission is also to determine is that worth your time. Is is possible to actually sell the item yourself and have it drop shipped increasing your profit margin, but adding more time to the endeavor. Just my thoughts.
