I have been asked a question by someone which got me baffled and got me asking myself the same question.

Can anyone tell me the type or kind of hosting platform WA uses?

Hi Fidel!

SiteRubix sites (both sub-domains and those on your own domain) are shared accounts. That is, a multitude of sites are served by a single server, and there are a multitude of servers (a server farm) to handle all WA sites, with the exception of those which members have elected to host off-site.

The sites are physically hosted by SiteRubix - not in the cloud. For my money, the cloud is not as secure as having physical control of the sites being hosted.

Just my 2¢.

Dennis

Very interesting. Thanks guys!

@Prestones thanks for the explanation.

Really good question
Thanks for asking it prestones gave a good
answer I am very interested in
what Kyle has to say about it

good question to ask.

Yes and @Prestones provided us with an answer

Thanks for explaining that Dennis!
Ed

I'm not sure, Fidel. I recall learning it was made especially for the WA program, and it must be a big one. You might want to PM one of the owners for specifics.
Wayne

thanks will do that

Please let us know the answer you find. I am curious too.
Thanks!

Sure I will

Well I have no idea. Am not an IT guy. So don't know much about the technical stuffs related to IT

What is the most secure, do you know.....cloud or shared?
Wayne

To be honest, I am not fully sure. I hear varying opinions. I do know that my hubby (who is owner if a popular forum) goes off the deep end when I even say the word cloud.

I would imagine Fidel's friend wants to know because of security concerns. I have an artist friend who got her site hacked with Malware and Google put a warning sign on her url search results. She uses Go Daddy hosting. Don't hey have to pierce thru the host to get to the web site?

Well I have no idea. I have sent Kyle a PM and awaiting his reply. I will info you guys on what he comes up with. But I am definatly sure the Hosting platform here for WA sites is solid and cannot be hacked into

Yes, a hacker or high jacker would have to access thru the host. It's all in code. My understanding is that any good IT person with a target in mind will find the code and find a way in. A friend of ours had his body shop business website high jacked by a porn site. It was nuts....if you tried going to look at his site, you instead found something really unexpected. His host is Telus, Western Canada's tel and internet provider.

Greetings Wayne!

There are some attack vectors that the owner of the server has to tend to, and there are some you should tend to. I use a couple of different security plugins to help secure my sites - being a self confessed plugin junkie. For more, see The bottom line (sadly) is that you want to ensure your site is harder to hack than 95% of all other sites.

At the very least, get rid of the "admin" user and login - then decide where to go from there!

Dennis

Hey Dennis, I bet you've used that line before at a couple of support group meetings.....Lolssss!!

I will like to find out if InternetSEOsolutions is a scam or not. They talk about providing your site with links form other similar or relevant websites for free.

has anyo

A very strange looking site.

None of the top menu entries link anywhere except to the homepage for "Home" and a "mailto:" link for "Contact Us".

I don't see any information on how the service works, how to sign up for it, or any of the other information that you'd normally expect to see on a site offering SEO services. It looks like you need to contact the site owner via email to learn anything about their service.

Ok...thanks for the info

I looked at the website, I have to say it doesnt seam very trustworthy. It doesnt say very much other than link exchange... How would you even get started with them? I was on internetseosolutions.com. This is the website, right?

In addition here at WealthyAffiliate you can learn everything necessary not having to use such services. ;o)

Cheers, Kay

yes that is the website. and i agree with you. I guess we are thought everything here and wouldn't be needing such services

Exactly ;o) All the best to you!!!

I will like to know if anyone has heard of FirstPlaceBanner?

are they a scam or they are for real?.

They claim to place your site at the top of any search engine fo

Nobody can legitimately make that claim. Ranking at the top of search engines' results is a complicated process that involves a great number of factors.

In looking at their site, it appears that they make a banner ad appear above the returned search results. This requires that a browser extension be installed to display the banner. It does NOT put your website at the top of the returned search results.

thanks Bob for your insight

Greetings Fidel!

I haven't used it, and know nothing about FirstPlaceBanner.

Having said that, I am the victim of about 1,000 "gurus", and whenever I see a claim like the one you've cited above, I look for the nearest exit and run toward it. No exceptions.

Best of luck - however you decide to proceed!

Dennis

thanks for your advice

It looks like a scam to me.

have you ever tried it?

No just read the reviews

ok thanks

Hi guys

I am done setting up my websites but i am having a little challenge driving traffic to my site. can anyone assist me with an idea of where to buy traffic from and

Keep building and working on site and they will come.

@bsmith1222 ok thanks

My advice........DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fake traffic is BAD traffic!

@rbwnys ok thanks

you now? there are linkcollider and such sites but if you increase your web traffic artificially, Google will know it and will not trust your web, you'd better try to drive traffic to your web with the help of social media, and Kyle training include such tip if you follow it step by step:)

That's wisdom Manchini...

Thank you :)

this is good advice to follow I would focus on content and try and get the word out other ways explained on this site

you are right, caz with all my keywords I am on Google first pages and sometimes first three places are mine :)

that's right it is all in the keywords and little by little you will build up an audience.

agree :)

And if you're concerned about bounce rate, purchasing ads is the WORST way to go. You'll be paying for that rate to INCREASE, because lots more people will click on a promoted search result, but they'll immediately click off again (unless your site is already the calibre of Amazon or Shutterstock or something).

Why not to buy Facebook ads: "Veritasium’s Derek Muller did some tests using Facebook’s own, legitimate ads service to gain more followers, and found that the majority of the new fans are little more than fake accounts, which are likely to belong to people who are paid to like hundreds of pages. He suspects that these are users who are working for nefarious sites which allow you to buy likes, who try to mask the fact that they are targeting certain pages (their customers) by simply liking the pages associated with any ad they see. Muller’s research suggests that this still happens, despite the fact that Facebook deleted over 83-million fake accounts last year, of which 14.3-million were spam or undesirable accounts which violated Facebook’s terms of service."

Awesome advice D...I am learning a ton from you.

I MADE THE MISTAKES! Haha! Just clanging this warning bell, because I wasted some money doing it. Sure it was really, really exciting to see my traffic spike, but it didn't result in sales, I can tell you that. Just some pretty graphs. Heck, I can draw those myself! For free!

If your site is REALLY well established, you've got tons (100 or more) of relevant posts and everyone who visits now loves it . . . maybe that's a different story. But I don't think that's the case here.

Again...wisdom from you. It does seem the "magic" number for posts proportional to traffic is going to be somewhere around 100 quality posts. I just got a first page ranking on a post on Google (for my post on "Can chronic pain cause depression?") http://myspineandjointpain.com/can-chronic-pain-cause-depression

That was post number 12 of 24...I have been in WA 27 days.

Very interesting site videre! I know this isn't the thread for this...but I left a comment on your fibromyalgia post!

go check this guy out he has several videos on one of them he gives a list of places you can buy paid traffic for as little as a half cent a click here is the youtube link. https://www.youtube.com /watch?
v=IOmjMphlPO0

Thank @sjulius its vick strizheus heard of that dude.He seems to be good at traffic generation and conversion

Bought traffic is utterly worthless. You might as well throw your money in the street. It won't direct the traffic you want - paying customers. You'll see some activity for a while, but after your money runs out and you haven't made a sale, it will all evaporate.

I am starting to get traffic through facebook. Have you tried Social Media first?

no i haven't.Are using facebook Ad?

If you have a Facebook account, all you have to do is create a page for your website and you can start sharing through your page. I do not pay for facebook ads. I have also set up pages, per Kyle's suggestions on Twitter and Pinterest.

ok thanks

It is not recommended to pay for traffic. It will likely be un-targeted traffic that will amount to nothing more than wasted money.

ok thanks steveo5770

You see Phydel...the miracle of community...we just saved you some time and money. Blessings to WA...

My website is so fast and google webmaster seems to have an issue with that. Can anyone assist me as to how to correct this issue ?

After you tested your website at the sites I gave you, it has now tested too fast?? That seems odd. I do not know why so maybe someone else will have an answer for you.

@dcomeau thanks so much for your help so far. i really appreciate it

You are welcome, Phydel. Also see my reply at your next question of "why is my website fast". Thx

@dcomeau ok i will

You are welcome, Phydel...anytime

Are you getting an error message or warning message?
If yes, then please post the message so we can better understand.

Yes I am getting a warning message which says

Some URLs listed in this Sitemap have a high response time. This may indicate a problem with your server or with the content of the page

Can you kindly assist me as to how to resolve this issue?

I just thought that perhaps you should do a new site map and resubmit to see if you still get warning message.

@dcomeau ok i will consider that as well.... thanks for the info

I'm not saying this is the correct answer, but I've had this a few times.

It's normally either something on the page with the error not loading correctly or just a slow server response at the time WMT checked.

I would check the pages it reports and see if anything is wrong.
Or if you want, post one of them here and I will also have a look.

Good idea. Just take a screenshot, Phydel.

@welshy this is one of the pages

http://binaryoptionstradingexplained.com/dragon-options

@dcomeau this is the screen shot

The server response is a little slow, but not much you can do about that, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think you can mark the warning and press fixed to remove them, if they come back then I would contact support.

@welshy thanks for the help I will try that out

I agree with Welshy at this point, Phydel.

@dcomeau Ok i will do as he suggests. Thanks for your help as well
