So I've decided that it's time I stop beating around the bush and finally start making a serious effort to get into video marketing. I seem to be running into problems left and

The videos I have created so far have been embedded onto my local SEO client websites.

As far as content goes, I make sure each video serves to introduce the business owner (or the person who is the main point of contact), an overview of what the business offers and how the person watching can benefit. At the end of the video, I usually include a call to action of some kind (eg, send an enquiry, view a certain area of the site etc)

For added professionalism, I make sure the video includes:
Clear titles on screen (with no ugly animation effects)
High quality audio (I use a lapel mic)
HD quality (720p minimum)
Good lighting

I upload all my videos to YouTube and so far haven't used any video distribution services. For impressive intro (or outro) sequences, I use Fiverr gigs.

This is the equipment I use to record and edit my videos:

Nikon D5100 digital SLR with basic lapel mic
Tripod
Autocue (teleprompter) - homemade and uses an Ipad
Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 on a 5 year old Windows 7 PC

Video marketing is highly effective but few businesses use it, probably because they don't know where to start. This is where you can help.

As ChristopherM mentions, don't overthink it, just get started. My first video was mostly spent trying to perfect it until I realised I was just wasting time. If you. aim for perfection, you'll never get anything produced. Just become prolific at recording and publishing videos with the aim of learning as you go and improving each time.

This is just my opinion, but it sounds like you're trying to do too much at once. The important thing is to get videos out there. You will never have the perfect setup.

Things like Intros are great but they can be difficult. You don't need great lighting and the best software. I use screencast-o-matic. Its perfect for what I do. My videos aren't the best but I'm getting better. I try to put out at least one a week, and some of the worst ones are getting me subscribers.

The only thing you really NEED is to start. I went through the same thing you're going through. I did it for about 5 months before I finally made my first video. When I did finally make it, I did it with stuff I already had.
