Glee in Getting Indexed by Google

It was with delight that I awoke to a message:

“…Great news, your website dianevconferenceandwebinarplatforms.com has been indexed by Google.”

For some, it might seem trivial. For me, this was a source of inspiration, especially when I constantly hear “be patient”. However, so many people in the WA community reached out with help and encouragement, so I trusted the process, kept taking action…and most importantly, kept asking for help and the results are now starting to take shape.

In a nutshell, many of the most common feedback cited was that a site is not indexed is because it's just too new. So, I waited patiently. It’s critical to note that being patient does not mean sitting back and not taking action. As Martin Luther King Jr once said, “…you don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

While waiting I did check around and found some beneficial reasons why a website, or parts of a website, might take longer to get indexed. Google support revealed:

The top 7 reasons
  1. A website might just be too new and the crawl that Google does, just hasn’t detected the site as yet.
  2. The design of the website might make crawling and indexing difficult.
  3. It could be that the website was temporarily unavailable when Google attempted to crawl.
  4. Verify that the website hasn't been hacked (thankfully avoided by using WA’s secure hosting) or otherwise modified by a third party.
  5. Sometimes a website might have been moved recently. If your website was recently moved to a different address, make sure that you follow the instructions for moving a website in the WA’s Level 1 training.
  6. In some instances, cases, indexing might be delayed because content previously hosted on a domain name might be causing issues. In this case, I checked the backend of my website and found a couple of links from my old free (site.rubix) website. This was very easy to modify by updating with the current website links.
  7. Sometimes websites might be delayed in being indexed because the website is not well connected through multiple links from other sites on the web.

Huge shout-out to @Kyle, @Chrystopher, @Ali and all the support and encouraging words from the community.

Peace be the journey!

You are a good writer to begin with. I'm glad to follow you back, Luvly!
And you are going to love your new home, decorating it with lots of content, and those people you reached out to are just a few relentlessly fantastic WA'ers.
I'll be back later, or tomorrow since I'm going to Jay'd Live Events class in a couple hours.
