Does the Name Quasimodo Ring a Bell?
So the question is "What does Quasimodo, the unfortunate bell ringer of Notre Dame, have to do with a post about online business?"
And the answer is nothing, except...
Attention
Ask yourself the question "Who is my competition?"
You can probably reel off half a dozen competitors who are competing for the same prospects as you (and if you can't, shame on you; go and do some research).
But they are only your competition AFTER you've persuaded a random to click on your link and sucked them into your funnel. Before that...
You are competing with the entire Internet for your prospect's ATTENTION.
They've got Facebook and Pinterest open, Bing or Chrome with the latest news + advertising and they are maybe checking out their smartphone and email at the same time.
Plus they've got the attention span of a newly hatched goldfish.
(This goldfish image is designed to convince you that I know what I'm talking about and is otherwise meaningless).
Something Different
You need something different in the way of image and/or headline to grab their attention and get the click.
Remember that's your only objective: GET THE CLICK.
So whether it's the title of your blog post or the image and headline of your Facebook ad, avoid the vanilla.
Make it relevant to your niche, sure, so that you attract prospects who are interested in what you will eventually offer them, but first, GET THE CLICK.
You'll do that by being controversial, by being confronting and not caring that you might offend some people.
Don't Waste the Click
Using attention-getting images and headlines to get the click is the first step, the "shot across the bows".
This will drop the prospect into your sales funnel.
Which must continue to hold their interest until you reveal the product or service that ticks all their hungry boxes.
How do you do that?
Watch out for my next WA blog post, where I'll cover Sales Funnels.
In the meantime, please feel free to like and comment. I will always respond.

Phil, I dd not give you permission to put a picture of what I look like in the morning before I have my morning cup of coffee, lol. I'm going to print that post (lol, without the pic, lol) and put it right on the wall next to my alarm clock. Thanks,
Toni
I'm sure you don't look anything like that first thing in the morning, Toni. However, we all do look better after that first coffee!

Thank you, Phil. I noted your descriptive Funnel Conversion, with intent of thinking how I may effectively apply to my own use.
I appreciate your words of WISDOM!
Shirley
Thanks, Shirley. Yes, it's about grabbing attention then leading them through to conversion.
