The Wealthy Affiliate Platform
Updated

Hi there Kyle,
A few colleagues here at WA ( namely Patsy C ) and I were recently discussing the 'follow' on Social Media opportunities that we have here at Wealthy Affiliat

Great idea Phil. Has there been an "official" answer yet?

Hey that would be great! But the social media sites set the rules I think on how we can interact with them from our platform. We used to have the G+ at the top of our profiles and that went away and I thought I remember something about it being because of social medical rules. I've been gone for awhile but that might be why we don't do something so cool as what you mention :)

Hi there
Thanks for stopping by
I hope that it gets resolved soon
Thanks PB

I shared a post on G+ today it is part of a social media plugin.

Hi there

This would reduce tweaking and appending social media profiles.

A discussable idea Phil.

That sounds like a good improvement Phil. Be interesting to hear what Kyle and Carlson think of that. They are always innovating here which is great.

Hi there

Hi there again,
I read recently a post here on WA, on dropshipping and I had a question, or more importantly an observation on this business.
I did dropshipping in a pre

I think that what you discovered Phil is a small segment of drop shippers that use arbitrage to try to make some quick money...

They find a product on Amazon and mark it up for sale on eBay.

When they do get an order (they will because some people do not take the time to do some comparison shopping) they then buy the product on Amazon and have it shipped to their buyer...

They may ask that it be packaged as a gift or have other arrangements so the end buyer does not realize it is actually coming from Amazon...

Over the long haul, I think this is not the way to go with drop shipping at all. The margins are small and lots of potential problems...

Better to source the product from one of the drop shipping wholesalers out there (there are a LOT more than AliExpress sources, based in various countries)...

We are working with US based companies for stores that we are shaping for US sales and we have some German companies for stores that focus on German customers...

Also we sell products from Thailand on both stores. These we either produce ourself or we work with local companies. In both cases for such sales we do the shipping from our warehouse that is outside of Bangkok...

The margins are best for our own products, but decent enough without having to use such tactics as it appears your product seller was using on eBay...

Cheers!

Hi there

Phil, I do offer dropshipping as one mean of working from home, but I've never felt too comfortable with it. And that is why Iv've always seen Wealthy Affiliate as the big answer to the question of how to make money working from home. To me dropshipping has too much or a risky element to it.

Hi Phil, was away the past week or so, just see this now...
Great question and answers below...
Just joined esourcesuk and hoping to find a trusted dropshipper there but will be difficult with the limited experience I have...
Lots of stuff on YT also promoting alieexpress but the reviews are dreadful...not for me...
Have you tried esourcesuk and if so had you any luck with them?

Hi there again Paul,
Many thanks for the info..
No, I havent tried any of your recommendations
I don't know if I will do any more dropshipping at the moment
I'm concentrating on the site for the present

cheers PB

Yes me too but will start preparing for 2018...
Davesw is setting up a platform for e comm/ dropship sites which looks very interesting so far...
Hope the site is going well for you
Take care
P.

Yes Phil. But this situation you have not only in online business. I had it many times in offline businesses too. My choice: If it was exactly the same product and the same conditions I would always go for the cheapest priced one.
if it was the same product but from another manufacturer and cheaper than the one I had in mind, I first checked out the product, watched the conditions and then made my decision. Sometimes I stuck to the more expensive one.

Hi there
Thanks for the reply
I always check out other sites as you rightly pointed out
thanks again
Cheers PB

I have not encountered this. Thank you for the info

There are some people that teach people to use arbitrage like what you describe either from Amazon to eBay or Craigs List, etc. there is little margin once expenses are factored in, and I doubt that people are making much money doing this...

Better I think to use a true drop shipper and the wholesale prices you get will allow a reasonable profit without and skulduggery...I have some sources I use to find these real drop shippers...

Depending on which you work with, you can often automate the entire process from updates to your store (inventory, prices, and other changes) to the order/payment/shipping...

What I like about selling on your own stores is that you are able to turn a profit a lot quicker than with affiliate marketing (you can make money using both, no doubt)...

Combining the two (affiliate marketing and e-commerce is even better. We are adding finishing touches to a membership site that will have training, a partner program for standing up stores, and an affiliate and drop shipping program...

Some of the training covers the various tools that are out there to support an e-commerce operation and those that choose to use one or more will result in affiliate commissions...

This is a bit of straying from your original question, but most certainly the subject of e-commerce stores are an area I have a lot of interest in hehe!

Cheers!
Dave : )

Hi there Dave
many thanks for this information, Its most welcome
That is a great idea andd do post here when this system is available.
Thanks again for reply
Cheers Phil Browne

Hi Dave, hope all is well in Deutschland! Are you setting up a dropship program??? If so can you PM me the details please?
I'm starting to look at dropshippers in the UK namely esourcesuk but it will be a steep learning curve, have you any experience with these guys? can they be trusted?
I have come across so many negative reviews on aliexpress that I definitely won't be traveling down that road...
How does one find a reliable dropshipper?

If Aliexpress is not for you ( even there are secret methods to deal with to bring good results) you might want to consider doing high ticket drop shipping whereby you will only source for premium suppliers to do drop shipping with. Choose the premium US suppliers that enforce MAP, it is a fixed lower price that seller can go, therefore, the situation like what Phil experienced would be solved.

Hi Paul, Just saw this, sorry so late with a reply...There are a lot of dropshippers that are not wholesale operations, rather they are resellers, so much of the profit is sucked up by them...

I have not tried the esourcesuk but have seen their FB ads...I use another tool that is very good and they do review the wholesalers that they add to their database/tool...

Also just to get an idea of some reliable wholesalers you can check out a website called inventorysource dot com...They have some of the wholesalers that are found on the tool I use, and they too have been checked...

That website offerrs services that help automate your online store, and range from updated inventories (via speadsheets) all the way to automating the entire purchase/order cycle...Of course there is a cost...

You can sign up for free and then get access to the wholesalers they have in their system, a good variety with a wide range of products.niches...Costs nothing to register, later you can upgrade if you want...

Yes we are in the testing stages now of a platform for people wanting to have a system that is easy to get in place and started with. WordPress and WooCommerce based...

The platforms out there such as Shopify, megento, etc. are expensive and limited to a degree - we wanted to create something with an extremely low entry cost so more people can dive into e-commerce (much like Wealthy Affiliate, which is what we modeled the system after)...

The system includes a membership site for free training (general, platform partner, affiliate, and dropshipping, PPC, etc.), free and partner membership forum, and elements for supporting affiliates and drop shipping programs (seller side and affiliate/dropshipper side)...

Right now we are working with 10 stores (some are our own) and once we have the bugs worked out, we will open to all...I will let you know here...

Because there will be an affiliate and a drop shipping element, many ways to monetize this even if you do not want to open and operate a store...

Plus free training (there will be some paid training as well offered by us and others wanting to sell their training - another way to monetize the platform)...

Lots of work as we work through everything, but we have juest added 4 people to the payroll, so that extra 640 man hours is going to help a lot get the finishing touches done...

I will PM you the details with a complete layout as we get close to opening it up for all...

Cheers!

Hi there

hi there
Thanks for this info

I have sold on eBay since 2000 or so, I started by selling strictly collectibles gathered from yard sales, flea markets, estate sales and storage locker auctions. I branched out in 2003 or so and began drop shipping and like your stating at best I could just cover my expenses and if lucky a small profit.
I used to promote here a couple of companies that offer drop shipping and also wholesale sales but found even the two I used in the past and then began promoting had priced their stock where now a person couldn't compete with the power sellers on eBay. So I could not longer promote them as an affiliate in good faith so took down their links.
My advice is to only sell things you have in hand. Buy wholesale lots you have room to store and promote them. I would never promote an affiliate product on eBay or any of the sell sites. You have no control of the product.
I will not sell a collectible without having physical custody of the product either. I have been screwed over doing that for friends too over the years. And I will not bother dealing with drop shippers either anymore. Be aware of aliexpress too that is another program being promoted out there mostly for Shopify stores but also Amazon.

Hi there Folks;
I have a question for all you good folks out there...
It looks like I will have to change my website theme as It does'nt support sub-menus unfortunately.

Hi Phil.,
I use a static page but I have my blogs displayed on it. The theme that I am using is Minamaze. I think it work pretty well.
Jerome

Hi there Jt
Thanks for great advise
I will have a look at that theme
Thanks again

Visitors will be coming to your site after searching the net and following keywords. This means getting to your specific posts most of the time. So the home page is not necessarily important.

Start with anything and you can change it whenever you wish.

Hi there,
Thanks for stopping by and appreciate your observations
I guess I will go with what is best, see how that goes and if necessary change again

Personally I believe a wow factor status page works best (but depends on your niche)

I use a free site rubix site to test new themes / plugins - why not start a test website yourself and download various themes and trial and test what your prefer... Set up 3 test pages/ posts etc

're themes, williambh asked a theme question some time ago about themes and there are loads of suggestion in the various answers...
search for him in the toolbar above...click on his name...
Click on the button questions...
scroll down and you will see questions on iconic one...take a look there
Examples i saw are shooting star, nature space etc

Hope that helps...

Hi there Paul,

Hi there Folks,
Quick question...
Site trust (within wa) has moved at long last.
It was at 10% for the past 2 months...
Now at 20%...
I have been adding posts on

Paul said it well Phil. Hope this answered your question.
Jerome

Sure did, Jt
Cheers......PB

Phil,
I'm so glad you asked this question because, being new, I'm not even familiar with "site trust"

How can I look up my website's site trust?

Ashley

Go to siterubix. Click on manager. To the right you will see site health. Click on view details. Here you can see site trust.
Jerome

Thank you for this!

Hi there Ashley,
Go to SiteRubix
Click on Site Manager
On the top right hand sde you will see a progress bar
Click on 'view details' under that bar
You will see a chart of all of your activities
see attached image
Cheers..........PB

You're the best :) thank you for being SO supportive of me as I'm learning :)
Ashley

Hi Phil,
It means that Google's trust in your site has increased. As Google trusts your site more, your rankings will naturally increase.
So the higher it goes, the more likely it will rank higher.

I'm at 80% so I see some of my posts positioned on page 1 and some on page 2 - it will depend on the level of competition and authority sites for that chosen keyword you are targeting.

The more trust you have, the higher chance you have of being on page one with those authority sites...
A few of mine have ended up on page one in the middle of Amazon, eBay, Wal-Mart etc.
If I wasn't at 80% trust, then I wouldn't have a chance of getting to page 1.
Hope that helps
Paul

Hi there, Paul
many thanks for the reply and that great info.
So obviously the higher site trust % rating ...
the higher-up in the rankings my site will be
At 80% you are doing well..congrats and well done
So for me its more of the same as you suggest.
Cheers again..Paul
Many thanks..PB

Hey, it took me 6 months to get it too that level.
Not easy!
I'm using that site i made to learn the ropes at this game so I have no problem sharing it.
If you have other questions and don't get a reply, feel free to private message me (as I'm not always on the email)

Cheers again, Paul

Hi Phil,
It means that Google's trust in your site has increased.

Paul
