Wealth File 1 - Millionaires Mindset
The journey to a Millionaires Mindset goes on.
To begin with, here is the conclusion out of the last weeks blog about T. Harv Ekers book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind”:
There are four steps towards change of our financial behaviour:
- Consciousness – be aware of your current behaviour
- Insight – understand why you think and behave like you do
- Dissoziation – understand that you have the choice to keep the way you are thinking as you have learned or to choose to learn another way of thinking
- Reconditioning – TAKE ACTION – Train your Brain to think like a Millionaire.
Now the real work on our mindset starts.
Throughout the journey I’m going to cover the “Wealth Files”. These are 17 ways of thinking and taking action, which differs considerable between rich people and poor people.
Nota bene: Harv Eker does mention that he may express himself rather blatant/exaggerated. He also apologises for talking about rich versus poor people. He says he doesn't mean to humiliate people who are poor, it just serves to simplify the wording so the reader of the book easier understands how the thought structures differs from each other.
Wealth File # 1
Rich people believe “I create my life.”
Poor people believe “Life happens to me.”
If we want to attain wealth and prosperity, then it is necessary to take control of one’s own life.
We have to understand that we are responsible by ourselves for our life and for being successful or not.
- It doesn’t help to blame someone else.
- It doesn’t help to justify yourself.
- It doesn’t help to complain.
It is time to understand that we, by our own thoughts, create our future. The thoughts are mightier than most of us believe.
Declaration: “I create the exact level of my financial success!”
Following actions helps you to increase your awareness:
- Whenever you blame someone, justify yourself or make complaints, then stop and consider your thoughts. These thoughts are destructive, they do not lead to success.Eker suggests to do a gesture that underlines this. His example is rather extreme - you’ll have to read his book if you want to know. I suggest that you make a slap on your hand or clench your fist or something else that suits you.
- At the end of the day write down onething that worked out well and one thing that didn’t. (This does not necessarily have to do with thefirst exercise, it can be other situations for example issues at work with thecolleagues, the working process or something at home). Having done that, writedown the answer of following question: “How did I create these situations?”
This exercise helps us to make clear which strategies works out for us. It makes us aware of how we react and what we can do better in the future.
I am doing these exercises now. I think it is a good way to get aware of my thoughts and it helps me to think more positive, even in hard cases. Now and then I complained about rude customers after theyhad left, and now I try to think of it as a challenge – an opportunity to get the customer to smile in the end.
To write down the two different situations per day deepens the process of change of the thought structure.
That was the first tasks on the path to a Millionaire Mindset.
Just remember:
YOU CREATE YOUR SUCCESS, ONLY YOU,
SO BE AWARE of your THOUGHTS and TAKE ACTION.

They are still busy cleaning up. The damages are in the billions. The insurance companies will definitely take a knock. It is still very dry and today is windy again. They are on high alert for more fires.
We are going through a drought and it is not helping things:)
