Dare to Try - Dare to Do

Hello to you all!

Today it is exactly two months ago since I joined WA and my website is finally starting to take shape. But I was not content with the appearance of my website, so therfore I decided to become a friend with the Wordpress System.

This week I have dared to try things out and I have been able to open up my eyes for new ways of doing things. I have dared to do changes on the website, to see what happens when I do this or that. Slowley but surely I’m getting accustomed with the Word Press System and my theme. There are still a long way to go but I’m happy about these steps in the right direction.

As always, a big effort is needed when you learn something new. Well I’m kind of a perfectionist and I often get lost in details. Even if Kyle says in the trainings, that we don’t have to do things perfect at once, I have difficulties to go on and leave an exercise or task unless I am satisfied with the result.

One of my goals for the following week is to dare to go on without feeling it has to be perfect. I am going to concentrate on applying the 80/20 Rule That means that 80% is good enough, with the remainig 20% you will not gain a bigger audience. The other way around you should concentrate on the 20% that is the most important for your business, this will bring you 80% of your income.

«Better 80% good, than never reach your final goal at all.»

😊 Pernilla

Awesome Pernilla, plenty of time to polish the stone, getting it out there is the thing to do. the 80/20 rule works a treat.

Plenty of time to polish the stone later on - that's a very suitable saying. That I will definitely keep on my mind.

Thanks a lot Alexander!

Now I better go on with the course, and getting things done.
:-)

80/20 - you can always change something you don't like later.!

Hello Carol!
Thank you for reading my post!

Yes, I am going to follow this rule now, at least try to do my best to be satisfied with 80% and be able to speed up my work a bit. As you say, there is always possible to do changes later on.

:-)

Positive attitude and good approach is a big tool to success and to overcome circumstances. You are a hard working Woman Pernilla and you deserve the best in your online adventure. I am 100% supporting you from behind. Thanks for your motivation

Many, many thanks Veli for your everlasting support.

I appreciate your comment very much. I am very grateful for your good wishes, which motivates and inspires me to go on working hard on my goals.

You are very successful with your online business, and that is spurring me on to work as hard as you do.
:-)

Pernilla you are more than welcome.

I hear you there, I've been struggling with my website for a month and still haven't published it, because I don't think there's enough content. And to me, it looks more like a brick commercial. Lol....

Thomas, great to see you! Thanks a lot for coming by and read my post.

I understand exactly what you mean. I have been hesitating to ask for feedbacks and comments at the WA-feedback- and Site comments platform, because of the same reason. My Website ist published though, which doesn't bother me much because as long as it is not high ranked, hardly anyone will notice it.

Jerome (jtaienao) and Craig (labman)- see comments below - both do recommend to go on with the course and fill the website with content as good as we can, and go back and make improvements later on. I have confidence in this advice and by following the 80/20-rule, I hope to make a big jump onwards.

Keep up the work - keep on going. One day, sooner or later, we have achieved our goals.

:-)

Hi there pernilla
We could all do with your approach and attitude
Thanks for giving us leadership
Cheers.....PB

Phil, thank you so much for honouring me with such a compliment. I do not know if I really have earned this appreciating words yet or ever - anyhow I will do my very very best to try to achieve my goals; to set up and maintain my own online business and to be a helpful and grateful citizen on the earth.

It feels reassuring to be on board at the same "ship" as you Phil. Together we are strong!

Cheers and Happy Gardening,
;-)

make that website rock! :)

Asen, thanks a lot for coming by and read my post! Very much appreciated.

Yes, I will do my best to accelerate the rocket propulsion and hope my website gets beamed in a higher dimenson!
:-)

Congrats on making two months, Pernilla!!! That's amazing!!!

I feel you on being a perfectionist, I think the term I use is getting things "just right". That's something I battle regularly and have to "let go" on a weekly basis. I've been getting emails from WordPress weekly, so I decided to print out some of the information, which is quite incredible.

I like how you just made the adjustment where needed, Pernilla. You've come a long way, baby!

Wonderful to see you Veronica! Just must say that I love your energetic nature! It's good to know you are out there sharing your energy with me and all the WA-friends. You're Perfect!

Just awesome, you mentioned getting emails from WordPress - then it came to my mind, that I received a mail from WordPress the other week. After I had read your comment I went straight away to my mailbox, and opened up the WordPress-mail. I haven't realized that they offer tips and courses as well. Thank you Veronica for open up my eyes* - this will help me take a big step onwards. Wished I had discovered this before - suppose I was too concentrated on the WA-Course. But as I say: "Better late, than never".

See you another day,
:-)

* My eyes are getting wider and wider - soon people will believe I'm an Alien!!

I received my "Welcome to WordPress" but I didn't open it until a month later. I think the guy's name is Syed; he really does go into step-by-step training...all at no additional cost! You can't get better than that!

As always, I thank you for your kind words, Pernilla. People like you make it easy to spread the joy and good cheer! Hope the rest of your weekend is an enjoyable one.

I will have a deep look at that WordPress-training. Thaaank you!!

Veronica, you are such a sunshine. Just had to answer directly, even if it is after midnight. WA is so captivating!

Wish you a joyful weekend,
:-)

Excellent choice in implementing to 80/20 rule Pernilla. Nothing is ever perfect and everything can be improved on. The important thing is to make forward progress and build out your content. It makes it much easier to make improvement if you can visually see it. A picture tell a thousand words. Keep up the good work my friend.
Jerome

Jerome, it's so good to see you. I appreciate a lot, that you always take your time reading my posts.

Yes, you are absolutely right - nothing can be exactly perfect, I know it in my mind but nevertheless I have to fight against the feeling to have to do things as perfect as I can. I should rather make forward as you say and improve things later on. That's what I will do from now on.

Many, many thanks for your encouraging words. Helps me to continue working hard.

:-) Pernilla

Perfectionism can be a double edged sword. You can cut yourself as easily as another.

80/20 is a good rule to follow. Remember, you can always revisit your content at another time and refine it to work better as you learn more.

Craig, thank you so much for reading my post.
I appreciate your comment a great deal, and will keep in mind, that I can improve the content and the design further on.

It's really not healthy to risk cutting myself!
;-)
