Hey Pablo,

You could try this: https://oceanwp.org/blog/7-ways-to-protect-wordpress-pdf-files/

OR...

Google search "stop my wp pdf content from being indexed" (without quotation marks, of course) to find a resolution.

Hope you find this helpful.

Are pdf documento content "seen" (index?) by google?

I am starting with this Affiliate word after writing my first 5-6 posts. Now I am in the 3rd part of the trainig where we start to see the affiliates links, products, etc. So,

You will most likely get a higher commission and much longer cookie from the merchant than you ever will from Amazon.

The merchant may also offer cross device tracking; Amazon will not.

The merchant will also pay you for any other sale from their site, same as Amazon. However, since that merchant is targeted to the topic you are writing about, your chances for a sale are much higher.

Amazon will penalize you if friends or families, geesh even just acquaintances use your link to make a purchase. The merchant won't. Amazon can find out all that information if you keep their link generator open on your computer - you are basically giving them permission to see all that you do and everyone you speak with.

The merchant won't kick you out if you don't make 3 sales in 180 days. Amazon will.

Amazon will, in fact, look for a variety of reasons to remove you, while the merchant will look for ways to work with you. Yeah, I work for a network, but I hated Amazon long before that. Go with the merchant!

Wow! Jeannie! This is really great info! Yes, I had this feelling about Amazon althoug I did not know what it was, but you put it just right.

Yes I heard about that Amazon could be better just because could keep in businnes for more time. But yes I can imagine that te merchant will treat you in a different way. I used to sell on Amazon and for some reason we were always kind of the "enemy".

Thank you so much J for talking the time for such a detailed answer.

By the way I still quite not understand what is "working for a network" (like thouse that the training suggest you to apply), rather than just "apply" to the merchant's affilate program

Thank you again J!

Pablo

My full time job is affiliate marketing, working for the Awin.com affiliate network as the Partner Acquisition & Development Manager. Part of my job is participation in Wealthy Affiliate.

To explain, many merchant programs do not have an in-house program so you can't really apply to them directly. The merchants then instead work through an affiliate network such as Awin. The network handles things like tracking and payment of affiliates. Some of our merchants are companies like Etsy, HP and StubHub.

Does that help?

Thank you so much Jean! It really did help to understand a bit more.

Thank you again for talking the time to explain it for me!

Best Regards
Pablo

If you go with a retailer you will be paid a higher percentage on the single product that you promote.
If you use Amazon, they will pay a commission on any product that is purchased within a specific time (cookie duration for Amazon is 24 hours).
So, although the commission percentage is lower there are more opportunities to make a commission with Amazon.

Thank you so much Lab! I can start to understand it...

The retailer seems to be giving you a better percentage. Amazon used to give 10% for fashion products, but I believe they have lowered this rate recently. Most other product categories are pretty low with Amazon.

The retailer's affiliate manager is likely to give you more attention in helping you sell. They may have resources available including banners, articles, advice, etc., that can be used to get your campaign earnings. With Amazon, you only have what's available as part of the Stripe. Most sellers are usually not pleased with theses graphics from the Stripe.

But, when you go the retailer route (as opposed to Amazon), you don't have the Amazon sales engine working in your favor. You won't get sales from products via the cookie (which happens often). Remember that Amazon uses a recommendation engine which according to a 2013 MacKenzie report, accounts for 35% of Amazon's sales. That figure has likely grown as Amazon supports artificial intelligence initiatives.

Amazon can be fickle though. They can change the rules and the commissions on you without warning. A retailer could technically do this too, but they don't often do it because it would hurt sellers.

Best Regards,
Jim

Thank you very much Jim, it seems that Amazon is a wider affiliate program. Even when it has some disadvantages (like everything else in this world) it seems to be better, at least to start.

Thank you!
Pabs

Yeah, you can sell just about any product on Amazon. That is a core reason why many affiliates choose the program.

Well, Amazon will be! :) I don not want to add more "problems" into my already-overwhelmed brain! Thank you Jim!

You can always start with Amazon and as your website becomes more seasoned and known, you can move over to the vendor. Amazon can be used as a test market in this case. The point is, you're never locked in. You have the choice.

Thank you so much Jim for clarifying me this! I really appreciate the time you take.
See you there!!

Keyword, Niche and Market Research
Updated

I´ve been doing keyword searching for my niche and I noticed that "similar keywords" appears, but the are "a bit" off the niche I choose. And example could be. Car Washin

A niche is something specific that a specific group of people enjoy.

People who are fans of Star Wars enjoy the Star Wars niche.

People who like to go camping are into the camping niche.

People who partake in the keto diet are in the keto dieting niche.

People into car accessories partake in the car accessories niche.

Depending on what your niche is about you can grow it broader, as long as these new products are relevant to your original niche.

Thank you so much Boom! Yes, I believe that this expantion it within the niche. I like how you use the "enjoy" to explain it. I got it this way ;)

Thank you!

You are welcome.

That's completely fine. Create a new category for each of those keywords. You'll be able to create a lot more content that way. You also want to cross link posts from each category when possible. Hope that helps

Thank you so much Kathy! So, are you saying that I could manage all in one website and do some different categories? I mean, I would like to have the same website for this. It´s really similar, but I am no sure if this will damage the niche.

Absolutely! One site with different categories related to the theme is the best idea. For example, on my cat niche site I have cat health, cat care, kitten care, cat breeds, and cat behaviour.

I love the idea! Now I can see that I can organize the future info this way. It´s much clear now!
Thank you Kathy!

You're welcome. Glad I could help :)

The easiest thing to do is write a post on it and see if anyone bites. It's your website, so you can do what you want.

Lots of people have multi-niche websites. Create what you want to write about because you never know what will resonate until you try :)

Best of luck!
Irma

Thank you for the FAAAAAST reply! Irma, that is my dobut, can I do this in the same website?
I can see different websites if I see "How to fly a kite" (example) niche and painting skills". But with this really similar niches, I was not sure if I could build a whole new website for this

Thank you so much
