Is adsense something of the past? I am curious, reading other various articles about it seems that it may be.

As for me, I think it makes a blog look "uninviting".

I do not used it

I have adsense but I don't overuse it, I have a link in my sidebar and 1 at the foot of my website.

I normally get about £10 a month from it.

I dont personally use it. Some ads on website's drive me mad and take my mind off what I wanted to read about.

They can get in the way. From what I can make out its changing its name apparently. I need to take a deeper look into what Google is up too for sure I know changes are coming though.

I just havent dug in to find whats going on as I don't use them.

I might have a look though and see what I can find.
Debs :)

Personally, I don't like it. Never did.

But I still tried it on one of my websites...

After trying it for a while, it only made me feel stronger against it.

To me, it makes the blog feel uninviting, as you said, and even spammy. And the revenue it generates definitely doesn't make it worth the sacrifice.

Objectively, I think readers have become accustomed to see Ads and doesn't disturb them that much. And if you have a very high amount of 'not so targeted' traffic it could be a nice extra revenue.

That's my humble opinion and limited experience with Adsense.

Here's my personal opinion Nic

So I have it but I've narrowed it down to 1 spot on my site and have my own advertisements in 2 other spots. I use the Ad Inserter plugin and I highly recommend it...it has so many features and gives you total control of when, how and where ads are served on your site. They also have a great how-to on using it with AdSense. I use it vs their auto-placement code they want you to paste into your site.

Is adsense dead? should you even use it?

I upgraded to 5.0 and I don't like the layout of anything...at all. Is there a way to go back to what I was used to? It seem less optimal than before. Any suggestions would be

There's a plugin for that

Yep you can switch back to the classic editor using the wordpress classic editor plugin - here's the link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

In the past 4 years of watching it, WP is becoming worse with every update. Somebody is crazy there.

You can install the classic editor option.

Thanks,
I should of done a bit of research first, I appreciate it.

Yeah, this is a plugin. You will be able to install it.

Most I have spoken with don't really love the new editor, I can understand the direction for many of the elements, but from a content creation standpoint I do feel there are many flaws.

Agreed, John!

The new WP editor looks like the crappy free sites that were the forerunners of WordPress testing out new concepts years ago. I tried them back and did not like them... and still don't, LOL!

Whew!
I am glad to hear this from others. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to keep up!

The technical side is my biggest flaw when it comes to Wealthy Affiliate, and I am sure you can tell what I mean by calling this "the technical side", haha. Thanks for all of the help everyone!

This is probably something I should know by now, but I am curious does this break the rules? If you post images other than the link suggested ones within your blog post?

Hey Nic,

You may find the following training video helpful: Hope this helps you.

Nic,

I never use any Amazon images unless I use the link attached
I think Amazon has copyrights on all of them :(

Susan

If you use sitestripe (I believe that's the name) from the amazon associates program you have the option of using the text link, image, or both.

You will not only be using the image but it will have your affiliate link to the product.

If you post images to your site then they must be your own or from a source allowing you to download them for use. Your cannot copy and paste from Amazon or elsewhere and pop them on your site. When you add the link to Amazon the Amazon listing will come up with the photos.

Thanks for the update,

Can you use there photos if you are promoting there products?

No you can't use their photos. The seller or Amazon owns them.

See the comment below this may be an option for you.

Just wondering about Amazon native shopping ads, is it worth implementing into a website? And if so is this done through the adinserter app? Just curious, thanks

Nic

Hi Nic,

Yes I have used Amazon Native Shopping for a could of sites. I generally use the Recommendation ads - these display ads that are relevant to your niche that Amazon recommends to your readers. But you can also select specific products if you know what you want to target.
Amazon gives you an HTML string that you can copy and paste into the text area of your post or page on your website.
Worth playing around with. I get a bit of success with it - some people get all their income from them. Depends on your traffic to your website.
cheers

I have no idea, but was wondering the same so will be very interested in the feedback that you get
