Hello WA a Community,

I would like to ask what “Transfer your domain to WA” mean? I read that after I created and paid for my new domain.

Thanks in ad

I have to transfer my domain from GoDaddy too.

If you purchased a domain at another place, outside of WA then you can "transfer" it to WA to take advantage of their typically-cheaper prices instead when it comes time to renew it.

Thank you Dale. I bought the domain as I was going through the lessons though. Does that mean that I purchased it through WA?

More than likely :)

Transfer to WA means transferring your domain to WA from another domain registrar such as Go Daddy or Name Cheap, so that WA is the domain registrar of your domain name.

Thank you for the insight.

Did you buy your domain on the WA platform?

Yea I purchased it as I was going through the lessons.

Hello. I would like to ask if it is worth it to buy my own domain as a beginner? Also, if I won’t be able to continue my Premium membership at WA, in case I push through

Hi - if you cancel your premium membership here, then you cannot go back to being a free starter again, you would be locked out of the platform.

If you have purchased your own .com domain, you would have to move it to another hosting provider before you cancel. Otherwise, it would go dormant and you wouldn't be able to access it.

It won't go back to being a SiteRubix.

Thank you so much for responding. Your answer is very helpful.

Yes, absolutely buy your domain. It is your online real estate and it grows with time.

That is true. Thank you so much for responding.

Hello. If you are serious about making your business turn into a success then yes it is absolutely important to get your own domain.
Your new domain will replace the siterubix one.

Kind regards

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.

Yes. Without one you don't actually own your website, are at the mercy of a free host, and your SEO will be utter crap as part of your SEO will feed the main site.

Thank you for your insight. So it is important then to buy a domain, because if I don’t then I’m reality I don’t really own the website that I am about to make. Did I understand correctly?

yes because a free website is a subdomain to some companies site like SiteRubix. If you own the domain you can move your website to any hosting account and have freedom of content ownership.

Thank you so much for responding and answering my question. I appreciate it.

Yes if you decide you are going to keep doing it.

Hi Lisa. Thank you for for responding. This means I would need to pay every month if I would like to keep my domain right? But will my website be shut off if I let go of the domain or will it simply go back to siterubix.com and leave my website running?

Diane, has answered your question below.
