Hi everyone I hope you are all well:
I've been a bit quiet recently but now I'm back.
I have been accepted by Skimlinks. But being slightly challenged
in the tech dep

Hi - just as an aside, Skimlinks take 25% of any commission you make. For example, if a merchant is offering a 10% commission and you generate a sale worth £100.00, you will receive £7.50 and Skimlinks will keep £2.50.

I personally don't think that's acceptable. I prefer affiliating directly with a company and keeping all the commission.

good to know, Diane. Thanks!

Thanks Mark.
I have read this but this paragraph is the 1 I'm not sure on...

Once the code is installed, there is no further technical implementation needed. You are set up and links you create will automatically be affiliated.

When it says the links I create???

Does this mean when I do a product review or when I mention a product in my content they affiliate the product without me doing anything??

It looks like it. You can also download their wordpress plugin if thats easier.

Check out this review of Skimlinks, it goes into how to use it

https://blogging.com/reviews/skimlinks/#Getting_Started

Looking at the support pages it looks like adding the script is enough. As long as its in the correct area.

https://skimlinks.com/getting-started/turning-your-links-into-revenue-generating-links/

I'm not an expert with Skimlinks though

I think I am interested in this question, I will hang around to have a clue too.

Hi Paul, I see you have got some great answers. I just wanted to add, the Amazon ads, and other affiliate links should not be removed.
This is an open affiliate market, and as long as nothing seems to be duplicated you should be good.
Both Diane and Chrystopher have offered some great guidelines.

Best wishes,
Michael

Many thanks Michael

Great question. I think Diane has you covered. I had some issues with this. Be careful with any duplicate paragraphs, even if you are the original author.

Have a great day.

Trevor

Just reading comments great question

Hi - Amazon links are not a problem. There are 4 things I have spotted that Google may class as unacceptable.

Firstly, and most importantly, you cannot have any duplicate content on your site. For example, your latest post "Backs" is 48% copied and pasted, particularly from https://www.backtofunction.com.au/blog/2019/7/13/dos-and-donts-of-spinal-health

Secondly, your Affiliate Disclosure is not clear and conspicuous enough. It needs to be seen before a potential customer sees your affiliate links, not in the footer. (And it doesn't meet Amazon's requirements). Take a look at this training. Thirdly, you just don't have enough posts, AdSense typically requires at least 20 posts.

And finally, as crazy as it may seem, the image of the naked woman in your "Backs" post may be seen as adult content.

So, my advice is to remove the duplicate content from your posts (which you need to do anyway, as Google will not rank them highly), add the Affiliate Disclosure as a page to your top navigation menu, add more content and remove the naked lady!

Diane, your advice, is always excellent.

Hi Diane,
Hope you are well.
Many Thanks
Invaluable as usual

Shame about the naked lady though !!!!!

I haven't looked in depth, but some feedback from a quick glance, your website is not fully secure and serving mixed content. You will want to check your images and other added media that they are using https instead of http, the link below should help you. Also, I noticed all of your pages & posts are using /?page_id=14 instead of clean permalinks / slugs such as /privacy-policy. You might want to consider changing this, so that it's easier for your visitors to find what they're looking for.

Terrific advice as usual. I have added this to my "to do list" to check my pictures.

You're welcome TJ :-)

Hi Chrystopher.
Many thanks for the help
The 1st bit I get the 2nd bit not so much?

You're welcome Paul, the 2nd bit is regarding Permalinks, these can be changed from within WordPress under Settings

Many thanks again Chrytsopher

Hi Guys.
Hope you are all well.
Just wondering if any of you use Propeller ads? I assume its similar to adsense?
But its telling me to mess around with the site editor

Hi Paul. Well, Propeller Ads has several user-friendly ways for publishers to have payments: Prepaid Master Card, PayPal, Bank Wire, and Webmoney, among others. Payments are processed automatically and based on NET 30 terms. Propeller Ads is an option for a traffic source. Initially works within pop ads. Pop ads are generally pop-under windows. It is a network on advertising since I think 2011. It is in the UK. It has a sizable presence in most countries whose main language is English. If you can use it to your advantage, why not. Cheers!
