I don't usually display AdSense ads niche sites where I am so focused on promoting or selling something, as they get in the way of conversion. Instead of people buying my recommendation, they can get distracted by AdSense and click away.

But in some instances, in some blogs, I put AdSense ads. Like for example, a website full of tips with no specific products/programs being promoted. If the readers get convinced of the post, then the only option available for them to click, are the related AdSense ads hanging on the sides.

Also, in news sites. They are good for AdSense ads.

Just recently, I decided to create a personal blog, with my name on the domain name, GomerMagtibay.com. Like I said, when I am not promoting a specific product or program, I monetize the website with AdSense ads. So, there will be ads on the sides.

Knowing the nature of "making money with AdSense", ads are seldom clicked maybe because, people know they are ads. If they think a banner is an ad, they ignore it. AdSense ads are usually ignored. As a result, most blogs don't make money or have poor earnings with AdSense.

Thinking about it, I came up with an idea to improve click through and earnings with AdSense. Here it is:

According to Google AdSense...

"Publishers have two options for how to label AdSense ads. You can either label the units with "Advertisements" or "Sponsored Links". No other variations are allowed this time."

Reference: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/4533986?hl=en

The problem with that policy for labeling is, people are not interested in ads!

So, if you label AdSense ads with "advertisements", it's like wooing the clicks away. Crazy these AdSense people, they don't understand what's going on online!

People hate ads. That's the reason why I prefer labeling my AdSense ads with "Sponsored Links" instead of "Advertisements".

Making money with AdSense is hard nowadays. You have to generate tons of traffic to make any significant money.

So, what are going to do now?

In middle of this, a bulb lighted in my head...

Why not, in personal blogs like mine (GomerMagtibay.com), to improve my click through rate, I add a word to the label "My"?

"My Sponsored Links".

Putting a big AdSense ad on the side bar, and putting a label atop of it, "My Sponsored Links".

Since it looks like more personalized, people will feel like clicking on the ad helps Gomer Magtibay, so there would be more clicks. Some will even be curious what are those sponsored links by me! (What are these sponsored links of Gomer?)

But, that statement from AdSense still bothers me:

"No other variations allowed this time"

(I don't want to risk my account getting terminated)

Hard headed me. :(

What do you think? What's your opinion on this?

That seems like it should be OK and actually a bit better than "advertisements" OR 'Sponsored links", but I also lost my adsense account about ten years ago, too!

That's what holding me and the reason why I posted this question. I am afraid, I can lose my account if I get caught deviating from what they want.

I did go and read the link that was provided and it DOES seem to be unambiguous! I lost my account and they NEVER DID tell me why, so,.....

Thanks, Mickey. I did check also the word "ambiguous" and Google says, "not open to more than one interpretation."

So, there's uncertainty. I think, it will be good to just play it safe because, they shut down accounts without warning.

There is another option Gomer. You can have Adsense ads with no label.
