I Outranked Jay - And Did It By Following His Own Training

Hey there WA'ers... hope are all well in what are definitely some uncertain times for all... So today I was doing some work on my site and I noticed something a little cool... I outranked the great man himself on Google with a post that I wrote as a direct result of his live training. - and on the first page no less...

Now I don't say this to brag (well maybe a little as Google will rectify it soon I am sure) but as a way of proving to those - who like me often get despondent when posts don't rank or sales are not made - that as long as the basics are followed, then with patience all will work in the end...

So how did I do it?

As with many of us here at Wealthy Affiliate, I sit down (on a Saturday morning for me) and get my weekly dose of Jayness as he sprouts his endless knowledge on all things websites, affiliate marketing and SEO. The other week, he ran through with us How to Write Awesome Content That Ranks (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/writing-awesome-content-that-ranks/) and in it, published the above MLM review live.

It just so happened that at the time, I was looking onto the same MLM program so I thought "You know what? - Let's see if this dude knows what he is talking about?". After the lightning strike that accompanies such a blasphemous comment diminished, I got stuck in and wrote my post strictly adhering to the following:

BOOM!! Page 1 in 5 minutes.... Then today, the Paduan became the Jedi.... (maybe temporarily, but still - I am a hologram now!)

Why write this?

To be honest, I just wanted to let you all know that even though we all know it, the training here at Wealthy Affiliate actually works! I mean, we do all know it, but sometimes knowing it and actually implementing it are two different things.

Like many of us here, I aspire to make it to Vegas. Not due to the place itself (although I do like me a little V Town action) but just to show for myself that I have built something pretty special with my site. And because of this, I tend to watch what those that have made it there say and what they write about... So many of them say exactly what I have here. Stick to and trust the process and it will happen - it won't happen overnight, but it will happen (those in Australia may get that one)...

Beauty Amongst the Ruins...

On another note, things have been a little interesting here in the land down under in recent times... you see, in around October last year, a bloke in a pub put down his empty schooner glass, picked up his Akubra and went outside... where he walked under three ladders, stood on 5 black cats and dropped his four leafed clover down the drain... Nationwide fire and then flood ensued over the next few months ... Then just as we thought things could not get any worse, China said "hold my beer"...

Now I am joking of course and trust me, the seriousness of this cannot be overstated - We run a Pilates studio and forced shut down will set us back months - or longer - but we have our health. There are many around the world hurting both with disease and financially from the impacts and our best wishes are with them.

So, the where the beauty comes from is as follows (finally).. Last week, we went to Bondi Beach in Sydney. Our son turned 8 and that was his wish (he watches Bondi Rescue endlessly).

Nic (my wife) and I were less than excited by the time the trip came - we had the studio to worry about and also being around that many people - breathing, sneezing, coughing - I mean what is wrong with the beach that we live 500 metres away from that we basically have to ourselves? But we went anyway and were walking around on Bondi beach the next morning where my wife and I were talking about our plans for the studio if we shutdown, or need to self isolate when suddenly we looked up to this:

We stood back and just stared... "We really are lucky aren't we!" my beautiful wife said... "What?" I responded (yep, we are all the same). But she was right... It was beautiful and from that point on, we got on with it all remembering just how lucky we are...

Sometimes a change in focus is all that is needed and all it can take is to just stop and look at what is in front of you.
