Time is of The Essence

Last Update: June 18, 2019

Finding time to get things done is still an issue with me! I am getting better at it, and my wife understands enough to allow me to focus on my online business. All said and done; Jip is a star when it comes to patients and understanding.

Taking the day-job out of the equation, as there is little I can do about that at the moment, so that still steals 8 to 10 hours of my day. It just leaves me to balance my online business and home-life.

More and more, I am finding ways to operate my business on the go. By this, I mean using a mobile device. It may sound horrendous to some, but I have proved to myself it can be done. I am building a collection of mobile apps that makes my life easier.

My last WA blog post was completed and published, from start to finish on my iPhone! And that included the cover image.

Doing things this way has a surprising side-effect, I am less stressed! Being mobile works hand in glove with my busy schedule. I'm now 1,000 words into my next Bootcamp blog post.

I know the feeling about trying to fit it all in around work. I must try to use mobile apps a bit more

Small screens and fat fingers make for a torrid time. It can take me 10 mins to text, then make a mistake, press the wrong button and it's gone. Though it pains me, I have started to use 'textspeak'
Ttyl.

Oh yeah, I'm down with it.
Well actually I had to ask my son.

LOl! I know the feeling!

I have not used 'TextSpeak'. I am learning to get to grips with Dragon Naturally. It's not cheap, but the plan is that it will pay for itself. Once, I have either proved or disproved its usefulness; I'll then decide whether to switch from monthly to a yearly subscription or cancel it altogether.

I'll keep you posted on the success or failure of that in a later blog.

That's really good, I struggle to do things on my phone, despite it being the larger one. I'm just not adept at doing more than one thing at a time on it.

I'm comfortable using the Pixabay app and saving images to my smartphone. I found that the Canva app is also easy to use, now that I have got adept with it on the desktop.

It's just the writing. Like, Dave, I suffer from 'Fat-finger' syndrome. So either I use a Bluetooth folding keyboard or dictation.

Yep, it’s tough fitting it all in! I am as I speak typing this to you on my iPhone while I have 5 minutes before I have to go teach!

I steal minutes and do a lot on my phone and iPad. Then I get up an hour earlier and write when the children go to bed. Luckily my husband is supportive and wants me to succeed as much as I do!

Sounds like you have the drive and the right attitude to make a great success! Wishing you all the best!

My wife is supportive of me, too. It is definitely a factor in any business venture, that if your partner doesn't 'buy-in' and support you in what you are doing, it is so easy to give up when the going gets tough.
