The Dreaded Income Tax Return

I submitted my annual tax return last night. This is never my favourite task. Fortunately, our Isle of Man Tax Returns are online.

This started me thinking about next year, and informing the tax man that my income has increased dramatically. I look forward to that.

Paying taxes doesn’t bother me, on the contrary, it’s a good indicator of how well I am doing. So, next year, I am looking forward to not getting my usual rebate, but a tax demand. That will be a first!

I briefly read through Kyle’s SAC month two challenges, and I now see where I have been going wrong. I wish I had understood these things before I had written last month’s twelve posts.

Oh well, my previous posts will be prime candidates for reworking. Thank’s to Nathaniel and Roope’s WA Blog/Training.

There are others who have written about this but I can’t find their posts.

I have a lot if work to do to improve my earlier posts.

Paul.

Thanks Paul - I have a feeling that I may need this...

Hi Paul.

**This** is why I think that it is so important to read members' blog posts — you **never** know when a gold nugget is going to fall into your lap.

Thanks for those two links. Much appreciated.

Regards,

I'm pleased to be of help. Yes, it is worth reading other's posts.

That reminds of a quote from Tom Hanks in Forest Gump - "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get, till you open the box".

.
... or, as Josef Stalin might have said:
"Life is like a box of chocolates—you never know which one has been poisoned by a colleague" 😉

Just kidding. 😊

For many years I've been paying tax in my local government area just for my conscience sake since my faith instruct me to do that.

Cheers.

I don't like doing a tax return either. The first time I had to pay tax though I was thrilled even though it was a tiny amount.

When I first saw this, I thought you were doing a tax extension. We in the States have it due April 15 each year.
I feel bad for those in other countries that pay higher in taxes then we do.
That increased income is needed, but perhaps because of that and higher tax rate, you may want to eventually look into putting some money in a bank in the Caymans to shelter it.
Just a thought.
Isn't that what the wealthy always do? :)

Yup, I always hated doing my returns. So I'm not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing that my income now means my returns are fairly simple and my tax liabilty low!

Also agree about reworking posts. I have just watched Jays webinar 2019 seo checklist and realised that there are still a few things that I am not doing correctly.

Fortunatly my new site only has 8 posts and the changes are pretty simple. Glad I realised before I got to far. Its also an opportunity to update some of my niche sites posts

Onwards and upwards Paul

Nice one Paul and I enjoy mine for the same reason

Good to think of that Income Tax Return as I start my online business. Are there countries exempted?

We are in the same boat.
Stuart
