Handy Tip 1 - Sticky Notes

I was chatting to another Wealthy Affiliate member on Chat last night, and the topic came up, how to remember to ask Kyle the next time she sees him on Chat.

An idea came to mind, as to how to not forget the question she wanted to ask, and be ready when the moment arises to ask the question.

My suggestion was to write down the question while it was still fresh on her mind, and then copy-and-paste into Chat.

I suggest using a sticky note, either a real one or a digital one. I use the Stickies app on my iMac.

When you see the person is on Chat, your question is to hand and you can quickly copy-and-paste, and ask away! You could list your questions by Name - Kyle, Debs, Mathaniell., etc.

To take this one step further, you can utilise this process for anything that you want to remember.

Real stickies or digital, both have their pros and cons. Real ones are always to hand on your desk. Digital ones, you can save.

How do you remember your thoughts and ideas?

Thanks for sharing, Paul.

Nice one indeed.
Cheers.

Hi Paul.

Yep, that's a good idea, methinks, although I don't use chat. Still, one never knows...

I have a sticky note program (Windows 7) and I absolutely detest it. The application doesn't understand multiple monitors and is as buggy as heck, but I've never found a more sutiable one. Add to that the fact that the lunatics in Microsoft are going to stop supporting Windows 7 (this year, or next, I don't remember) thereby forcing us into the dreadful Windows 10 and I don't much see the point of getting into another application at this time.

I wonder if there's a web-based, browser-based one? Hmm. Might be worth looking into.

Regards,

The Stickies app on the iMac works well.

Windows 10 does grow on you. I’ve been using it for a few years on my laptop. I didn’t like it when I started but after I found my way around it is better than 7.

It’s a bit like the WordPress Gutenberg Editor. Once I learned my way around and how to take advantage of its many features, I was hooked. I’m not sure I want to downgrade to the Classic Editor any more.

Change just takes time to adjust.

.
Yes, but I've been using Windows 10 at work since 2016, and I still despise it with a passion. Microsoft moved things around seemingly for the hell of it, because I have **never** discerned any logic to the new layout.

My favourite Windows was Windows 2000. Boy, I loved that version. It did what it needed to then got the heck out of the way. It was as stable as a donkey with 100 legs on level ground and nowhere to go. I don't think it has been rivalled by anything since.

However, what makes this chaotic life more interesting is that we can all hold our separate views—isn't that great?

Please have yourself a wonderful weekend. 👍

XP was my workhorse. I used that for many years. Many businesses were reluctant to leave it behind until Microsoft pulled the plug, and forced the issue.

We reluctantly left XP for 7 a few years ago. No decision has been made yet on where we will go after 7.

Watch this space! :)

This is a great idea thanks'

This is a very helpful tip, I was actually doing research the other day for a post I am getting ready to write and I got an idea for another post, I did not write the idea down and I lost it. So if I had a sticky app, I could have put the idea there for later use.

I love stickie notes! I use them all the time.

Love the stickie notes use them a few times a week
Also quick memo on my cell since i always have it on me

Thats a great idea my friend..Thanx for sharing :)

Stickies would help, I use them on my MacBook Pro. Other times my thoughts and ideas would pop up on the spur of the moment. I would use my iPhone notes. That helps.

Me too!
