Find Someone To Help You Paddle
Today I was inspired. You inspired me by the help and support I continue to get from the Wealthy Affiliate community. If you haven't read Admiral McRaven's book - Make Your Bed - I recommend that you do. I take a quote from the Admiral - Find Someone To Help You Through Life.
What did Admiral McRaven mean by that? His statement stems from his NAVY SEAL training "Life can be hard. Real hard". You can give up, or despite the hardships, you keep going. If you choose to keep going, you can't do it alone. You need a team!
If you'd like to hear a synopsis of Admiral McRaven book, then listen to the speech that he gave at the University of Texas to the Class of 2014 Commencement, titled "Admiral McRaven addresses the University of Texas at Austin Class of 2014". The take-aways from that speech are as follows:
- Make your bed every morning
- Find someone to help you through the difficult times
- Measure someone by the size of their heart
- Life is not always fair, move forward
- Don't be afraid to fail
- Be prepared to take risks
- Don't back down from the sharks
- Be your best during your darkest moments
- Start singing when there's no hope
- Don't ever, ever give up.
This list might seem strange to some, but as the Admiral explains, the little things matter, get a team, and don't ever give up!
I do make my bed every morning. I have found my team here in Wealthy Affiliate, and I'll be damned if I'll give up!
Today, I asked for a few comments and some feedback. I was inundated and overwhelmed with your response. I approved every comment and replied to every comment and feedback. In all, I wrote over one thousand words in my replies! A BIG thank you to you all.

We all need at least one person in our corner and for those who feel they are an island, be thankful for WA. When you are a part of this community you are never alone!
I always make my bed - always have. It is actually difficult for me to leave the bedroom, knowing my wife will not make the bed if I get up first and leave her sleeping. It will bother me all day until I can get back to make it myself......
I feel the same way, Paul. I think of WA as my second family and am thrilled to be a part of this community that offers so much training, resources and of course community support. I'm sure you said what many of us are thinking, "I have found my team here in Wealthy Affiliate, and I'll be damned if I'll give up!"
