Hey guys
I have found the places for sharing each others Google Plus, Facebook profiles, etc, here on WA but is there a place to share each others CONTENT on the social medi
Do you mean like using the affiliate link for each individual blog? You can easily share this on Twitter, etc. You can also promote using free tools such as Buffer, etc.
Hello Rosie
Thank you for your reply.
No, this is not for an affiliate link - this is simply for sharing each others content
For example, at the bottom of many posts, you will see an icon, going to G+ or Facebook, ect.
If you were to click on this icon, it then shares the content with all of your viewers, exposing that content to your followers
If several people were to do this, that piece of content, will be seen by many people, resulting in more traffic, and hits for the post.
Hope that explains
Paul
Great point Paul, FB is a very powerful platform and if we can get posts to go viral, it would be very beneficial to all of us :)
In the give and take comment thread, when we ask for comments on our sites we can also ask for social shares if we have the icons on our site. Hope this helps. :) Need website comments? the give and take comment thread
Thanks Kathy - Appreciated. I have used this page, but never seen anyone ask for shares on there.
Makes sense though
Thanks again
It seems a relatively new concept, but lately people are asking for, and giving out, social shares on the give and take thread :)
C
Thanks Claire
Yes this would appear to be the way to go.
Maybe wise to have a different thread, as commenting and sharing are two totally different concepts of marketing
Regards
Paul
I agree.. can't see any harm in starting one up though. Others (not Kyle or Carson) have done for FB and Twitter to get followers/page likes.

If you find out the answer please let me know because I would be interested. I use Twitter & Pinterest to share others blogs, but if we had a place where that is all we did it would be awesome.
Hi
Just had a reply from Kyle, who said he did not want to get into sharing. as it could lead to multiple spamming
So probably best way is to do it Kathy suggest below, on the give and take thread

Hi Guys.
Is anyone here using an exit pop up?
1.If so, which one are you using and do you recommend it
2.Has it increased your sign up conversion
Also, do you find
I've just been to wordpress.org and found two free exit popup plugins. 1) Yeloni Exit Popup (736 downloads 90+ active installs) and 2) Exit Overlay (Popup) (610 downloads 10+ active installs) Could be that people are installing, trying out and then deactivating for some reason. Hmmm. ~Marion
I do not like pop up, I feel like forced to see something not requested, and sometimes it prevent me for watching what I was reading, fading the underlying content. It could be annoying. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for commenting. I am not looking for a pop up that interupts your reading, its one that only appears as you hit the 'x' to leave the page, and offer something of value, in exchange for an email address. - you would still be able to leave the page if you wish.
Would that type still annoy you?
Paul
Hi Paul. This is a good discussion point. I have a sign-up form on most of my appropriate pages of my website but as traffic increases (my current focus of attention) I shall experiment with an exit pop-up to see if that increases sign-ups. Not sure which one to choose so I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if one gets suggested.
I am leaning towards Opt In Monster at this time, it seems very popular with good reviews.
I don't like them but if they increase conversions then by all means use one. I'll be interested in following up on the comments here. ~Marion
Thanks Marion, Like you I have not been a fan, but the new exit pop up technology seems pretty good and does not interrupt the persons reading of the site.
Also It only pops up once per person for a set amount of days,(Unless they clear their cache) and only just before they hit the 'x' to exit.
I am selling it to myself now!
Hi Paul,
I use exit pop ups on my sales funnels. They work a treat.
Here's one of the funnels http://onlinemoneymakingtips.net/
A mate of mine uses a plugin called 'Non Wp Exit PopUp' on his wordpress site that he got from codecanyon.net it costs about $6
Cheers
Alan
Hello Alan
Thanks for the reply.
I have seen the type of exit pop-up that you are using, but the one that I am interested in is a exit subscriber form
Here is a link to the page, and as you exit, you will see the how it works
http://www.getrooster.com/
This one is a bit pricey, but I am sure there are others that do the same thing - I was just wondering if any of the WA community was using a similar method for getting subscribers.
Paul
I have a pop-up form on my landingspage only, by entrance on the homepage, which as far as I know not pops-up on all other pages
to see it in working http://freeimages.siterubix.com/
Thanks Loes.
Yeah, I have tried entrance pop ups before, but my bounce rate was always high (This was asking for an email address)
Since removing my bounce rate is a lot better, but the one I have in mind is different (See my reply to Alan and Craig above, which show the script in action
Regards
Paul
Paul, this is something I'm thinking of doing too. Yes, they can be annoying, but my understanding is that it's generally shown to increase conversions. I'll see what others can recommend.
Hello Craig.
I am not so sure the ones that I am thinking of are that annoying.
The reason I initially asked, was due to a post on Matthew Woodwards blog here
http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/experiments/3-killer-exit-popup-case-studies/#comment-1814678
This always sounds good as a sales pitch, but wanted some third party feedback
If your interested, its a good post

I didn't know where to post this, but does anyone think that having members first names displayed to the side of there member ID would make the community more personal.

Hello, I am David. Nice to meet you Paul. I put my name in my description so hopefully everyone can see it there. Also as fitmomuv3 (LOL) Sara mentioned below, Kyle or Carson welcomes them by first name. I agree with you though, but it is kind of standard to have a "Tag" name on a website or email and I think it would be hard to change....
Nice to meet you too David. I don't disagree with tag names, it would just be nice to also see who you are talking to. After all we are encouraged to do this on our websites to make it more personal. Thanks for commenting. Paul
Most of the time the real name of someone you can find on their profile, scroll down and see what Kyle is using in his welcomes message, Loes (real name:)
How do you pronounce "Loes?"
Thanks for the reply Loes, I just tried to scroll to the bottom of your profile, but its never ending!!
If you wish to welcome a member or thank them you can ask them for their name or you can scroll right down to the bottom and you will see in the majority of cases their first name when either Kyle, Carson or the referring member places their welcome.
Hope that helps remember some people may not feel comfortable have their names mentioned as well to which they are entitled to.
Take care
Andre
Thanks for your comment Andre. I understand that you can search to find members names, but some of the profiles are very long, and just time consuming.
As I am new to the community I had quite a lot of members welcome me, which is nice, but very time consuming to go through all of there profiles as, very few left their name.
I am all for the privacy, so members could just omit their name if they preferred
I actually agree Paul! I would feel kind of funny saying hi to MutsNuts76.
Dave (Also my real name)
I typically look through their comments on their page, which will display their real name (which Kyle and Carson will auto comment with). Thats my trick. Plus, I always sign my comments and posts with my name!
Cheers, Sarah
Many do Sarah, but many don't - just quicker and easier if the persons name was there in front of you, and easier to build a relationship
