wakey wakey - where is the traffic?
Hi guys and gals
I have had several comments on traffic and people are not getting traffic and why and this is why I am writing this blog - I was going to post some pics but this is more important so sorry picture fans!
People have a great Idea and then build a website and then what do they do?
Some people have missed the important step about getting their website indexd with Google - do not laugh I missed it as well for three months!
Then people do not realise that google is only ONE search engine and there are2 many out there but the next thing to do is get indexed with Bing/Yahhoo/Yandex as they are the most powerful and nearly as good as Google - so use them all!
Ok so now your website is "LIVE" and ready for traffic - great
where does the traffic come from and this is what many people do not understand. The traffic is there everywhere hundreds of thousands of people waiting to visit your website BUT how do they know you are there?
This is where YOU have to help people to find you because to rely on what we call Organic traffic (which means people searching the internet buy using a search Phrase) to find you is not the way to start off. You have to help it along!
How do you do this -
Well you have to be like a fisherman and cast out a line with bait and a hook and for the bait you will use CONTENT - yes attractive appealing content in the form of a BLOG! And your content with great pictures will contain Keywords and this is a great temptation for the fish to bite!
Where do we fish
You fish in a pond where you know there are plenty of fish and there are a few good ponds on the internet. Face book is one, Linkenin is another, Google+ is another and then there is Pinterest, Flipboard, Blogger,Quora and a few others.
So what do we do
You post your blogs in groups on these social sites and you keep doing it and doing it and after a few months your website will move up the rankings and organic traffic will start to appear and you will start to get questions and comments and this is where you just have to INCREASE your activity by doing more of what you are doing
The fish are caught
Yes you have caught a few fish and now the cooking begins!!!
And it is all good fun!

I really like your use of analogies. If you look at it that way. It makes the task seem much easier. At least to me. Very good tips.

Good information and tactics. When you are posting your blog on group's social sites and keep doing it over and over again, how do you now know when yo are getting close to the point of being banned?
Do they give you are warning or do they just ban you?
I know you said that has happened to you.
Nice and very helpful Paul. Is that an exact number or an approx? In other words, when you post the the 13th, do you get a warning?
More great advise. Thank you Paul. I have been implementing your techniques and have been seeing some definite improvements.

I'm curious, Paul, how often do you check your site's traffic? Daily? Weekly? A few times a month?
