Another JUMP - but from where?
Hi Guys and Gals
It is really strange as things happen every day but sometime they happen and just no explaination so let me explain.
I have been working on my site speed as you know and managed to get almost everything all green and looking great which took most of the night!
I just had a look at my Google stats and jumped as there is a very big increase in my traffic and I do not know why - see below
You remember that three days ago I started to post on Facebook groups jut 5 and so the first kick and then another 5 so the second kick - OK
BUT all yesterday and Last night I did not post anything at all anywhere because I was working with the site speed tool addition and getting my site better so had no time to do anything else.
So whet the heck has this come from?
I have checked my sumo stats and all OK with the usual views from FB, Linked, Quora etc and organic so from 100 up to 180 just do not get it.
I am wondering could this all be me and by doing the work on the site and making all the improvements the traffic is show as my visits to each URL that I was working on?
This has got me really wondering and although it looks great I think it is al false so if any one has had the same thing happen and knows the reason please let me know OK
All good fun
Paul

The vast majority of more traffic usually only has to do with stuff you do ON page. This has been proven over and over again.
(yes, not scientifically. but, still..)
It's possibility that it may be your busy activity causing the jump Paul. Regardless, it's always a good feeling you see our traffic increase.

I saw a huge jump the day before yesterday when I was working on site speed. I already had my IP excluded so I know it wasn't me on there. I can't explain it either. Yesterday, it was back down and I didn't work on site speed at all.
Hi Paul, this happened to me and I excluded my IP address in the Google Analytics filter but...our IP address changes as I found out later so I added another filter and this wasn't working.
I found a permanent solution with Google Analytics Opt-Out Add on. It's free and once installed you see it at the top right hand side on your browser. It's a little 'g' logo. It works!
This is the link...

Hi, it is better to exclude your IP address on Google Analytics to show the actual traffic on your site.
Wow that's a big jump!
Have you checked your Google Analytics dashboard where you can see how much organic, social, etc trafic you get?
If it's all organic, then it must be that your pages are ranking much better. You can also see in Analytics how much traffic your pages are getting. Is there a big bump in one or more pages?
Last but not least ;) Do you have a keyword monitoring tool so you can check your rankings?
Cheers!
