The Four Agreements
The Four Agreements is an excellent book by Don Miguel Ruiz.
It reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. The Four Agreements are based on ancient Toltec wisdom.
They offer a code of conduct that can transfer our lives to a new experience of Freedom, Happiness, and Love.
Easy to comprehend and very inspirational here are these Four Agreements.
1. Be Impeccable with Your Word
Always speak with Integrity and say what you mean. Do not talk badly about others and about yourself as well. Use your words for truth and love.
2. Don't take anything Personally
What others do and say is often not because of you. It is the reflection of their lives at that moment. Do not dwell on these opinions of others for too long and you will eliminate a lot of needless suffering.
3. Don't make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and express yourself. Learn to communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings and drama. This alone can bring tremendous transformation to your life.
4. Always do your Best
Always do your best. This is very easy to understand. It will erase all self-doubt and regret from your life. This you will know immediately. There is no greater feeling than doing your best!
Oftentimes, the most Powerful messages are Simple and easy to understand. I hope that these four simple thoughts can provide the same inspiration for you that they have provided for me.
Always speak well Do not take anything personally
Do not assume anything Always do your best!

I have had this pinned up next to my desk at every job I've had in my career. Ironically, the fact that I couldn't find an office job that took these principles seriously is why I'm here.
Irony is as good a reason as any to find your way here. Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate, Travis.
Thank you for such a great post. Yes keeping things to yourself longer is not healthy. Release it and be happy
I love that book! It's based on ancient Toltec wisdom. Bought it a few years back after a Mexican friend lent me his. Every now and then I read through it again. I actually created my own poster of the Four Agreements for my office space, and I can't recommend them enough. You feel better about everything in general when you read the book, understand and agree to them. Great post Paul!
Thanks, Heather for reading my post.
It's amazing how so much wisdom can be contained in so small a package.
Great poster idea!
Thanks, Mark, for stopping by.
I've started reading real books again as well.
There are made of funny stuff called "paper".
Who would have thought!
Thank you Paul for your post.
These four agreements are great principles to live by.
If only we could find each one easy to remember.
Making assumptions stands out for me because sometimes it is hard to understand what another person means. Guessing is often not good!
Gosh, Valerie, it's hard to make it any easier. I'm going to throw in another one for me. No more excuses! lol ...
I had no problems understanding what you said Paul.
Maybe past misunderstandings have been due to me! Lol.
I totally agree with this book and remind myself of its content regularly, Paul. The Fifth Agreement Carol
