I've not been able to sign up for Amazon Affiliate Program so I have been trying to sign up with Ebay's Affiliate Program and I'm experiencing some difficulties.

Ebay is

FileZilla is an FTP program not a WP plugin. Use it to FTP to your site and upload the file for verification. You can find your FTP username and password by clicking on Websites > Site Manager and then finally in Details for your site.

I just did this with another affiliate, but it was the same exact thing. The affiliate I was using(viglink) offered more then one way, but it still had to be attached to my site. I went on my frontpage to edit the page and I went out of visual into text and added a code snippet then went back to the affiliate site and hit verify and it was a success. Your situation is a little different but this will tell you how to do what you need. Good Luck!

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I will try this and let you know if I got through.

Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone,

When I purchased my domain, I took out one with dashes in it. After reading a blog post on WA, someone mentioned that domains with dashes do not convert as w

This is really a simple matter of convenience. If you were to type out a domain in the browser bar would you rather type:

my-make-money-training.com

OR

mymakemoneytraining.com

The answer is simple the hyphens make it much more harder to type.

However today most people don't have to type a URL they simple see a link and click on it.

Or they copy and paste it.

So the hyphens become less of an issue.

It's now a matter of Branding your site. Do you like the hyphens or not. The answer is most people do not like the hyphens and for that reason people do not usually go to sites where they see the hyphens.

As Zed (smartketerr) says you should avoid the hyphens because it makes your brand look spammy.

Thank you very much for this information. I have learnt a lot from the articles under this topic

Avoid hyphens if possible. If your domain name is two words (like www.examplesite.com), you may want to separate the words with a hyphen for readability: www.example-site.com. But, keep in mind that use of hyphens also strongly correlates with spammy behavior and decreases domain name readability and memorability.

Thank you for sharing this. Very helpful information.

Could that be the reason why my website isn't getting much traffic?

No. It can influence your results at a certain level, but it can't kill your traffic.

See the link provided by Mark ...

Thank you Zed.

Any time!

Here is a good post from Nathaniel. He is very highly ranked here at WA and has some good insight. Mark

Hi Mark,

Thank you very much for sharing this post with me. Will look over it and make the necessary changes.

Warm Regards,

Take your time choosing a domain name. Do your research.

Authoring & Writing Content

I think I have a problem.

In creating content, I didn't realize I had to use SiteContent for content creation. Instead I was actually going into the dashboard feature in

Yes but Site Content offers some perks such as the free image gallery and it will also optimize images you add and publish through it, etc.

You can determine your ranking using other tools like Jaaxy and so on.

Thank you very much. I will continue to use SiteContent moving forward but I was just concern about my previous articles as I have not written them using SiteContent.

It’s not a big deal. I pretty much only use Site Content to create and post, nothing more. Once posted you can’t update or edit them in Site Content anyway. I just like the image optimization and such.

Site content is just a content writing tool, it has no bearing when it comes to indexing or ranking. Anything you write whether you write it in site content or in your websites editor - your content rank comes down to your keyword research and the level of your writing.

You do not have to use site content to create your content, you can write directly in your site dashboard if that's what you prefer.

However site content does allow you to set writing goals and access to over 1,000,000 royalty free images.

An easy way to check your contents rank is to use the rank checker in the pro version of Jaaxy.

If you don't have a pro account you can open your browser in the incognito mode and then put your content title into the browser and manually check for your content and see if is ranking on the first few pages of the SERPS.

Also I'm sure there are free online tools that you can use to check your contents rank - just do a search like: free content rank checker

Thank you very much for your information. I have read it and I will follow your advice to check if my posts have been indexed by Google.

I will also continue to use SiteContent to write my articles moving forward.

Hey Keisha,

SiteContent is a handy tool for newbies to help you with your content. Therefore, it is NOT a required tool to be used, and whether you use it or not will NOT hurt your website in any way.

Whether your content ranks or not has nothing to do with SiteContent. Perhaps you are meaning if it has been indexed or not.

For posts you wrote NOT using SiteContent, you can sign into your Google Analytics account and check.

Hope you find this helpful.

Good day,

My question today is on content writing. What is the ideal amount of words should you have per page or post on your website?

I have visited web pages rank

Content should be at least 1,500 words. Though it is true that content of 2,000 words and more tend to rank higher in Google, it is not always necessary to write that much.

The important thing to remember is that Google will rank you on how complete and informative your entire content is. If you can do so using at least 1,500 words, that is good enough.

I appreciate your feedback and I will continue to work hard to deliver quality content.

Thanks for sharing. December content writing my #1 goal.

Same for me. I really need to brush up on my writing skills.

Hi Keisha

Read these tow blogs of mine

Robert

Thank you very much Robert. I will take a look at your blogs.

I have read a few of your blogs so far and I really enjoy the content! It's really informative and I hope I can be as good as writing articles as you are someday.

Keep up the great work.

Cheers,
Keisha

Happy to help if and when I can Keisha.

Hi Keisha,
1890 is the average word in a post that ranks well per Neil based on his research. He has tried 35000 to I believe 1000 words in his research.
But I read a blog post here from someone got a good ranking with ~3500.
I have also read 300 words have been found to be ranked.

Thank you for your feedback.

Hello Keisha,

The short but true answer to your question is a solid Pillar Post explaining and well- researched should be between 3500-4000 words. Those are foundations for your website.

Your other posts can Rank well with 1500-2000 words.

I am happy to know you work hard and are willing to be persistent.

I am sure you will make your dreams come true by working toward your goals!

God Bless and Good Luck!

Janice

Thank you very much. This information was very informative and I appreciate your kind words.

God bless.

There is no such thing Keisha ...

The longer the better ... Recommended to have at least 500-1000 words ... there is no limit ... But what really matters is the provided value. You should focus on creating original, unique, helpful content ... without counting the words ...

Thank you very much for your feedback. I was always concerned about this.
