Bah Humbug - Worst Christmas Surprise Ever

And this really will be the shortest blog post I have ever written.

I'm often told, "If you will act like a child, you'll get treated like a child".

So, unfortunately the evidence has been cruelly ripped away from my hands.

"Paper Cuts".

As I sat down to enjoy The Grinch (sounds familiar), I pulled close to me a box of mince pies that I admittedly purchased a couple of weeks ago.

I sipped on my mulled wine, everyone around looks happy and content, and I had that real "warm feeling" inside.

I looked at my box of mince of pies, and what horror am I greeted with.

It quite clearly says on the box:

"Marks & Spencer's Deep-Filled Mince Pies - IDEAL FOR CHRISTMAS"

Best Before December 16th 2020

Christmas is ruined.

I wish one and all a wonderful Christmas.

You have ALL definitely played a part in my happiness and joy this year.

To everyone and their families (now let's not get carried away, as the big day's not here yet)

So, I wish you a Happy Christmas Eve Eve.

Enjoy

Partha

i am late to the party Partha, sorry, I have been wading through all of the left over food....
Because of the new Covid restrictions, we only had a fraction of the intended guests , instead of the 12 we had invited...then to make matters worse on Christmas Day Night, the few guests we did have had to leave PDQ because of the new Tier 4 (at a minute past midnight)....so we have sooooo much left over food, of which there is a glut of "Waitrose" (sorry not M&S) Mince Pies, and loads of Baily's... I will ask Royal Mail to deliver at once to your neck of the woods..

That made me laugh and for more than one reason.
The first is that we did the same a number of years ago, a couple of the items in our 'Christmas Box' had been bought a little too prematurely and had seen better days by the time the big day arrived.
Then, yesterday, when asked if I would like some, recently found, Stollen, it turned out that it was from last year, along with a box of assorted 'luxury' biscuits.
Luckily, we are stocked up with plenty of goodies to see us through the festive season.
Hope you're having an amazing time Partha.

Well, At least we will know what is wrong with you should you turn ill during the next 24 hours Partha! Never tasted minced meat. I guess it is not Reindeer meat. Lol. Anyway - I wish you a lovely Christmas! Do not forget Mr. W. Looking forward to an update on that story. πŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸŽ

Haha,

Oh don't worry Hilde, I typically eat anything and everything, so I pretty much have an iron stomach.

I wish you and your family a lovely Christmas too, and of course I shall keep you updated.

Enjoy

I was curious about how long micemeat lasts so here is what Google says.

If it was properly packaged and sealed, it will be fine. One year I made it from scratch - made a pie each year for the next 6 yrs, no problem. Yes canned stuff does degrade gradually, but it would be a taste and consistency problem, not a health problem. If it tastes fine, go ahead.

LOL

I laughed when I read your reply, only because I didn't know that there was an expiration date on micemeat! I am not nit-picking. It just made me laugh.

Oh George,

There's always ONE.

LOL

I ate them.

Hahaha

Partha

And they were GOOD (tasty), right?
Interesting, I just reviewed my initial response. I have the WA way of doing it. Help comes first.

HaHa!

Lol

Simone,

Food is very serious in my world, LOL.
