Do Nots for Success Online - Right From The Vault of 'Kyle'
When it comes to bringing out the do's and don'ts for success in the online world - who better to ask than Kyle himself right? So, I don't remember exactly when or which article it was but Kyle wrote content about what are the things that will not give you much hope when it comes to online success.
I have written three points here that I remember from that article that I still keep it in my notes.
1. Think you can make the money quick
You need to remember that online world is for the long haul and is not a short term thing that you do. It takes consistency, and an audience that has some trust and faith in what your write. So, don't think the money will come quick. I'm sure all the other members that are doing well here in WA will be a witness of that as well.
2. Think someone will get the work done for you
Online work and success depends on no one but yourself. It is the effort that you put in daily and consistently that accumulates to your success. So, this one is pretty important. You can't think that someone else will complete the task for you. I am guilty of this myself. I tend to waste a lot of time on the internet while working and sometimes get very little work done. Hmm, no one else will make me successful online. I don't know what I'm thinking!
3. Ask others how much money they make
I did this myself too in the beginning. You tend to go around and ask people - how much money do you make a month, year, overall? But, this thinking is for losers. If you go around asking people how much money they make, it is almost like thinking everyone makes the same amount of money. The amount of money you make depends on each individual and their efforts. So no point asking people how much money they make. Instead reach out to people to ask any questions you have in regards to making your website better and how you can make the best brand out of yourself!
I'm sure there are other don'ts that Kyle wrote but these are the three that I have in my notes. I just reviewed through them today so thought I would share! Hope it helps! Happy Success y'all! :)

Written a clear as a bell. Thank Parmi agreed you can only rely on yourself but the motivation you get from other really helps.
Thanks for the reminder! Obviously everyone wants money fast, but your post reminds me of the analogy to remember that this is a marathon and not a race!
Chris
Absolutely Chris! It is indeed a marathon and sometimes it is easy to forget! Glad it helped :)
I love this, thank you.
I've only been doing this a few months myself and haven't made any revenue yet. But I feel like I'm close. I tried comparing my efforts to others and all I did was get in a 'new year funk' because I thought I was failing. But for a mum of one, soon to be two, and a step-son, and a full time job with crazy, unpredictable hours, I think I've achieved a lot.
We can only aspire to our own greatness (:
All the best,
Claire
Claire, I haven't been here much longer than you and it definitely isn't going to come early on. But if you keep at it, you will see it. Rightly said - all you can do is just work hard and try to reach that greatness that we are all capable of! For someone like yourself with your plate full, you're doing one heck of a job! :)

The three points you mentioned I think most people in WA (myself included) have been guilty of at one time or another. Thank you for reminding me that my success in WA will depend on my effort to keep working consistently and not giving up when nothing seems to be happening at the moment.
