If the plugin links externally, it may not be accepted at WA hosting, or they may need to do something to the cURL protocol to enable it for you. That's all I could think of.

I love reviewing websites for others here in the WA community. There are a lot of creative people here, and I enjoy seeing what they're done and helping them with a critique. On

A bit of nostalgia for you. MEMORIES -- a Christmas present from Jakoba I should add the words to my German dictionary online.
Thank you! So perfect for the season. I also knew a German drinking song with the words Bier Herr; I think the English translation was "Beer, Sir, Beer, Sir, or I may fall down." They actually performed it in German when I dined in the Beer Hall at Epcot one. Brought back great memories of my Grandpa.
Ihr Deutsch ist völlig verständlich. Ein Koffer mit 'Kommmmmmmas' ist wohl ungewöhnlich. Alle diese Deutschen Worte kommen in mein Lexicon die mein Komputer lernen muß. Good to have you here. I am with WA only 2 months now, but I am an addict now. LOL Viel Glueck

Yes, you have touched on a sore spot in my English (second language for me). This pesky comma does not work the same way in German as in
English. A professor told me he was most confused with my happy comma sprinklings. I'll look at your resources. Thanks. Jakoba
Guten Tag, Jakoba. Ich bin lange zeit in Deutschland gewese, Habe immer noch 2 koffer gefullt mit ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ich kannte dir schon ausleihen.
How is that? I still remember some German,
Frohe Weihnachten
Impressive! My German grandpa taught me to sing O Christmas Tree in German, but sadly I don't remember it anymore. The best part of that heritage was getting beer from childhood on. It's funny how attitudes on alcohol vary so widely in different cultures.
Thought I would share this.
Knitting Chickens: From an opinion piece in the NY Times, an example of why serial commas make sense:

candles, knitting and raising chickens coincides neatly with the rise of
working women who actually do much less housework."

I just added a new blog entry on one of my sites. I worked in Amazon Affiliate ads in what I hope is a natural way, but I'd love some feedback. I don't want to drive off readers
You kept it personal - not over advertised. Does not give the feel of a page built for pushing product! I think you did well.
I don't see anything salesy about this page :) It's very well done. It is what, I think, people are looking for - your experience. You've not pointed to your audience with you, you, you.
Very good! I agree that your images should be a little (not much) bigger.
In my opinion your photos could be a bit larger. Can't really see them unless you click on them.
Hey Barb,
On a quick scan I didn't get a hint of over advertising. Nor, on a little closer inspection. I wish I was more qualified to share an opinion, though I am very easily spooked by hard sell, over linking etc, & my radar was not signalling on this one at all.
Nice pg by the way - Regards, Damien.
Thanks! That's very valuable to me because I think most people have that "over advertised" sense and I don't want to trip it off. I actually own a lot of A Christmas Story stuff myself so I'm not plugging anything I would personally buy.

Okay, so I was pretty happy with the logo I made for this site. Then my husband looked at it and said, "The photo is all washed out." I actually applied a filter to it, so it's
I think I would prefer the photo. I think I agree with your husband - it looks washed out and for me - not in a good way. Makes me think cartoon - but that's just me.
Hmm, I like the drawing effect, but I don't think I got to see the photo. And thanks for the FitBit review. I was thinking about a Force for my wife & I, until I read your blog. :) Now I'm rethinking the decision and maybe I'll go with Flex. Cheaper anyway.
This drawing is a lot darker and more defined than the other one. The hubby still prefers a photo, but I'm sticking to my guns. Glad my review was helpful. I'm usually an earlier adopted of new Fitbits, but the Force just doesn't bring enough worthwhile features to the table.
I'm just glad you mentioned about the Force not being water proof. I want to put it on and pretty much never take it off. I went over to FitBit's website, and sure enough, they recommend not wearing it while showering or swimming. :(
Love the wording it is so fun. Sorry but I would agree the photo looks a little washed out. Try some different techniques with it. If you can't get it right your title will still look good without the picture.
I like the niche. I also like the header but have to agree with your husband regarding the photo.

You can buy a used WP book at Amazon such as WP for Dummies. I bought it and my son took it from me but I really don't need it. I just do what Carson said. John
Thanks, Carson. I haven't looked much at Google yet because I'm a tinkerer at heart and know just enough about CSS to be dangerous.
Hi Barb,
Google is going to be your best bet for finding out how to code in HTML or CSS. That said, to build your website here at WA using Wordpress you need little to no experience with CSS or HTML. You can use the visual editor within WordPress to get your site looking great.
Google is your best reference as there is an abundance of resources available that will teach you everything you need to know.
